I do not own The Originals
Spoilers for Episode 2 (not counting The Originals shown in Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries).

When Niklaus cries Rebekah finds herself wishing she could take back the words she has so venomously spat at him, but he does not cry for her, he cries for the truth that she preaches. Niklaus lets his eyes tear up and lets the lump form in his throat because they deserve that much from him. When Rebekah tells him it is okay to care, he struggles to hold back the emotion he so desperately wants to destroy, so he slumps down beside her and lets her sit next to him, and he aches to touch his sister's hand and tell her he is sorry, but this is not for her - his plan is not for her - and it will only weaken him if he shows any consideration for his sister, the wolf or his unborn child. He did not for Elijah.

When Rebekah finds herself smiling at the pregnant wolf, she believes that Niklaus has found some redemption in himself, that this child could be the beginning of the old Niklaus, the one who loved her and protected her with his heart. The one who would kill for her, other than because of her. Rebekah finds herself believing that, regardless of his venomous words, he does care for her and he does listen, even when he so violently pushes himself away from her and tells her to leave, to watch and see if he even sheds an ounce of care if she dare to depart him now. She never leaves though, not really, not even when she awakes from years of being daggered, not even when the last words she can remember are the cruel words Niklaus has whispered before he has shoved a dagger in her heart, and let her sleep.

When she storms back into their make-believe house and calls him out for his stupidity, she watches the realisation drop in his eyes and she knows that he is coming back. This wolf - this child - has changed him and he knows that the key to beating Marcel is within his reach - because of his once always-in-the-way baby sister. He is inches away from finding a way to rid of Marcel and his secret little witch, all thanks to the one woman he daggers every few years and leaves rotting away in a petit little box held only for her own body.

Rebekah, in this instance, when she stares into the eyes of her brother as he tells her, "whatever it takes", does not hate. She loves. She loves in anger and despair, and when he nods at her, she moves past him, brushes her shoulder against his in silent thanks and departs to her bedroom and washes away the smell of Marcel and the power of the witch she has met. She washes away tears as she cries for the loss of her brother, Elijah, the memories she has shared in this God-forsaken town, and the welcoming of her old brother. She cries as she realises their family crest is coming together: 'always and forever'.

Whatever it takes, she will make them a family again.

There is a rumor-mill that Davina is the future child of Hayley and Niklaus, and she has been brainwashed and sent to kill them in the future. That, to me, makes no absolute sense. She looks like Hayley and draws like Klaus, but to be sent from the future to kill them? Really? No. I think the Originals is a great little series as it is, but the amount of silly things thrown in can make the show a laughing-stock. I am hating and loving Hayley, and absolutely loving Rebekah (and Marcel, hands down to that). I wrote this because I feel Rebekah's internal feelings for her brother need to be shared a little. I've always felt like maybe someone needs to let Rebekah's thoughts out, to show that she wants Nik to love her, and show her he loves her instead of screaming in her face when she tries to do the right thing by him. He's just being a tit to her. We know he loves her, but she doesn't.

Sorry for the shortness and the crappy writing. Had to get it out.
