As Darcy woke, she lay in the bed, lazily staring up at the ceiling and allowed Jane to sleep on beside her. Darcy took a deep breath in and...something smells different...

She craned her neck down her body, and all she saw were flowers. Hundreds of them. Flowers of all shapes and sizes flooded the room, filling every surface space in the bedroom. Darcy sat up in the bed and looked closer at the flowers resting on the bedside table. Some she recognized, like roses and daisies...but some of the flowers were completely foreign to her. One looked large and fluffy, while the other was small and intricate in design. Each and every single one of the flowers was either green, silver, or a mixture of the two colours.

On Darcy's bedside table, the flowers ranged from a deep forest green, to a shocking lime green. Silver accents in the stems and petals had Darcy in awe. They were all neatly arranged and ordered, from the largest blooms on the bottom, to the tiniest floral on top.

Darcy turned to face the person in her bed, expecting to see Jane still slumbering away. Instead, Loki lay beside her on top of the covers with his eyes closed. He was still wearing his tunic and black slacks. Darcy could imagine Loki laying down gently beside her as she remained asleep, trying not to wake her.

Darcy shifted herself slowly to a position on top of the covers, trying her best not to wake him in return. She seemed to have managed successfully as Loki remained unmoving, slowly breathing in and out. As she leaned in closer to Loki's face, Darcy started to look closely at his features. His pale skin, and strong facial structure...as well as the relaxed expression on the weary face.

The bed covers rustled slightly as Darcy leaned in to place a soft kiss on his neck. The second her soft lips touched his warm skin, Darcy felt two strong arms wrap around her body. She looked up and saw Loki's eyes open from their resting state. He brushed a fallen strand of hair behind her ear.

"How are you feeling, Darcy?" Loki asked.

Darcy lay down beside Loki and tucked her head into the crook of his neck.

"Mmm...feeling well rested," she answered.

Loki shifted his arm and Darcy lay on top of it, curling closer into his body. The fingers on his other hand grazed her side, slowly moving up and down from the top of her stomach to her hips.

"How are you feeling?" she asked. Loki paused for a moment to think. They hadn't gotten the chance to really speak yet about the recovery of his magic.

"I feel like...I have regained an integral component of myself that had been missing for too long..." Loki paused once more. "...and yet I think to myself, 'perhaps it isn't solely about appearances...or your perceived birthright that matters.'"

Darcy shifted her body so that she was supported by her forearms resting on the pillows.

"I was so sure that Thor...and my Mother would completely reject me that day that Odin took my powers away." Loki placed a hand on Darcy's beautifully flushed cheek.

"And I was so sure that you would completely reject me."

Darcy looked into his emerald green eyes and leaned in. She could look all day and still be intrigued by the different textures, layers and colours within his vivid eyes. The eyes that could depict truth and lies, strength and vulnerability...and the completely exposed soul underneath.

"Loki," Darcy whispered. "I love you."

Their lips met together perfectly and Darcy let her weight fall against Loki. Darcy kissed him with an incredible passion, and Loki kissed her in return. She could feel his hands start to mingle with the soft brunette threads of her long hair.

Loki pulled her back for a second, breaking their kiss momentarily.

"Darcy Lewis," Loki said as he laid one of his palms on the curve of her back, and the other in her hair. "Will you let me love you?"

Darcy's fingers toyed with the collar of his shirt.

"Yes."

Their limbs tangled as Loki and Darcy lay on the bed, sated and sleepy. Darcy curled closer into Loki's body, cooling down her body temperature as her skin lay flush with his own. Darcy let her fingers trail over his chest and traced a rigid pattern down his blue-tinted skin. Loki watched her, holding her tight in his arms as she focused on the intriguing raised designs on his body.

"I really like you in your Jotun skin, Loki," Darcy commented with a sly smile.

Loki let his hands trickle down her back. "Point made," he grinned.

It was silent for quite some time, each simply laying nestled with the other while listening to the soft breaths in the room. Darcy kissed Loki's neck and looked up at his face.

"Loki?" Darcy asked.

Loki turned his face downwards to meet her eyes. "Yes, my dear?"

"Will you come back to Earth with me?"

Loki paused for a second. How could he have been so unaware? Of course Darcy would want to return to Midgard, it was her home. After all, she couldn't stay on Asgard forever. Although one day, perhaps...

He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. "Yes, of course. We will be able to return as you please."

"Hmm..." Darcy murmured as she placed a kiss onto Loki's collar bone. "As I please," she repeated as she trailed her lips lower and lower. "Well maybe we can entertain ourselves for a little bit. I don't want to leave just yet," Darcy said with a smirk on her lips.

Loki laughed wholeheartedly.

"As you wish, my Darcy."

Darcy and Loki walked down the hallway, hand in hand as they headed towards the outside doors. Jane had decided to stay on Asgard with Thor for 'just a while longer', but Darcy suspected that Jane would staying for a much greater length of time. She knew, though, that they would be seeing each other again. Whether it be within one year, ten years, or a thousand...Darcy would always look forward to the day that she would meet her best friend once more.

Their fingers intertwined perfectly, and Darcy felt the temperature difference between her small warm hand with his pale cool hand. Darcy could remember the day that she first met the God of Mischief. She recalled the cell hosted by SHIELD, and the amount of hostility and distance that she once held for him. And now...never in her wildest dreams could she have imagined that one day, Darcy Lewis, the 'nobody' science assistant, would be walking hand and hand in Asgard with the Trickster himself as they looked foolishly infatuated with each other.

Perhaps they had just made it through the most difficult moments of their lives together...or perhaps the challenge is just getting started. One thing for certain was that they would always be there for the other, no matter how good or bad the obstacles would be that life threw at them.

Darcy listened as her shoes echoed throughout the marble hallway, and ceased as they both stopped at the doorway. The heavy double doors opened into the bright sunlight and Loki and Darcy stepped onto the paved path. Asgardian civilians walked by here and there, moving to their next destination as quickly as they could. A tense atmosphere was evident as many Asgardians kept their heads down, looking up only for a quick glance. It was as if they were wary...wary that another frightening invasion could happen at any moment.

As Darcy and Loki walked down the path, many of the civilians looked up as if by domino effect, to take one last glimpse at their Asgardian Prince and the human woman that accompanied him.

Darcy looked up at Loki as he turned to look down at her. Their eyes met and their hands clasped tightly together. Between these two worlds, Darcy promised herself that she would make the best of what life threw at her and that she would enjoy every last moment.

Every. Last. Moment.
