Just a Few Words Please
Natasha growled, thrusting the gauze over her left arm. She twitched slightly when the cloth rubbed against her burned skin but relented nonetheless. She looked up, once she finished cleaning herself up. She wasn't surprised to see Clint holding a frozen bag of peas over his eyes, or Steve nurturing his left arm for the time being. She saw Bruce in the corner clutching his stomach, while Thor on the side was painfully adding disinfected spray on his deep cut on his forehead.
She stood up, walking over to Thor and helping him with the bandages. Behind her, Steve let out a few curse words but no one seemed to point it out.
"Okay what the fuck." Clint hissed moving his body into a slouched sitting position. "What the hell happened."
Everyone stood quiet and looked at each other. Bruce breathed in deeply and sighed, hissing once he applied too much pressure on his stomach.
"I believe we have... Not planned our warriors formation quite well." Thor stated.
"No that wasn't it," Natasha growled curling her fist onto her lap. "It would've worked perfectly fine if it wasn't for Stark."
They all stared at her, Clint suddenly realizing the scientist wasn't there with them.
"Where the hell is that Iron fuck." He growled. "This is all his fault."
Bruce jumped up, outstretching his arms.
"Whoa wait a minute, this cannot be Tony's fault all on his own, we all made a couple of mistakes in the battle and we could've made another back up plan in case one of us wasn't here." He snapped. "Why must the blame fall on Tony!"
Steve stood up, planting his hands on the table in front of him.
"Banner we've been calling Stark since the battle started, he has answered us and he said he would have been there in a few minutes." Steve huffed. "Thats why we didn't change the plan, Tony had made a promise to us he would be there and failed to make it."
"He must have a reason!" Bruce barked back, he flinched violently, clutching his stomach and falling back into his chair.
"I'm afraid there is no reason for breaking a warriors promise Dr. Banner." Thor rumbled holding his hands together and leaning his head to rest on them.
Banner looked distressed, he ended up looking at the ground as even Thor agreed with what they said.
"Banner i don't think he wanted to help us." Steve stated, blue eyes glaring at the TV in front of him.
"But-" he started but was cut off by Clint.
"Look Bruce he may be your buddy, but when has he ever actually hung out with us, or talked to us aside from missions for that matter." Bruce looked down hurt swelling inti his heart. "Face It Bruce, he doesn't care."
They all looked down, listening to how silent the tower was at that moment. Natasha moved going to the elevator watching as it slowly rose up to their level.
"I'm moving back to SHIELD." She stated. "If he doesn't want us than so be it. "
She walked into the open elevator, none too surprised to see the boys follow. Even if Banner was a bit reluctant.
In the next thirty minutes, they packed all their belongings. They left their rooms completely barren aside from what Tony had installed for them.
Dragging their stuff out into the main living room, they all growled when they saw Tony land.
He stumbled onto his pad, his left boot flickering lightly. He slowly walked up, surprised to see everyone all packed up. He smiled lightly, but couldn't help the damp feeling in his stomach.
"Hey we going on a vacation." He laughed.
No one moved or responded, all preferring to glare at him instead. He twitched, noting that all the stares were malicious rater than friendly. He dully noted that Banners seemed to be a bit lost.
"Whoa whats going on?" He chuckled, forcing himself to keep up his happy facade. "Did someone die? Or did Dummy set something on fire?"
Still no one moved, it was getting to the point where he was starting to get frustrated.
"Guys hello?" He waved a hand erratically above his head. "Im not a wall...you guys can talk right? What happened to friends can trust each other?"
They all snapped, Natasha dropped her bags and thrust forward. Jabbing a finger at his arc reactor, forcing him to take a step back.
"You," she hissed, venom leaking from her tone. "You have no right to talk about trust!"
He felt a spark of shock and confusion wane in his body.
"What are you-!"
"You good for nothing, lying son of a bitch."
She harshly shoved him back, forcing him to stumble. He regained his balance as quickly as possible and held out his hands in a 'calm down' motion, for Natasha and his bots.
He cracked an uneasy smile, that went unnoticed by anyone in the room.
"I thought we already passed simple pleasantries Natashalie." He quipped slightly, letting his arms fall limply to his sides.
He twitched when she jabbed him once more at his 'heart'.
"Don't even Dare, Stark." She snapped.
She backed up, her arms moving up and down as if fighting herself. She picked up her bags and stomped out.
"I was right your nothing more than a self-absorbed, narcissist bastard." She hissed, then turned to the remainder of the group. "You coming or what?"
Without letting the others respond she opened the stairwell and started her trek down. The clicking of her heels matching the fast beat of Tony's heart.
Steve turned to glare at him, shaking his head as he picked up his bags. Tony scoffed and shook his head, noting that Clint and Thor raised their suitcases as well.
"Oh come one what did i say." He laughed.
Steve started to walk.
"Aye, come on Captain." Tony mocked slightly. "Isn't it your job to tell someone what they did wrong."
Despite the fact, Tony was generally being honest on how confused he was. Steve had only turned, and snapped at him.
"You know i really wish Howard was here instead of you."
"Well too bad." Tony chuckled.
He flinched, noting that with every statement they said hurt him more than he wanted.
"Wow Stark." Clint shook his head. "You can launch a missile through a damn fucking portal but cant even admit your in the wrong." He walked up to steve. "Then your a damn ungrateful bastard."
Before he was even able to respond, he heard Thor grumble and lumber after them. "A wasted warrior."
"Well i guess three for three hu?" Tony chuckled realizing he had forced three STRONGER males from his home. "I guess ill see you at meetings."
"Doubt it." Clint called out.
He forced a laugh, waving goodbye. Turning to Bruce, he was grateful that his friend actually stayed. He walked up and placed a hand on Bruce's left shoulder.
"Well i guess its just you, me, Pepper and the bots aye?" He smirked.
His smirk turned into a frown as Bruce brushed off his hand. He saw the other scientist pick up his luggage and walked in strides to the stairs.
He panicked, the dread forcing him from masking his feelings. He started stuttering, not actually thinking on what he planned to say.
"Whoa! Whoa!" Tony cried, nimbly grabbing Bruce's luggage before he could grab it. "W-what are you?"
"Im leaving Tony." Banner hoarsely stated.
Tony swallowed, hoping the tightness in his throat would leave. He gripped the luggage in his arm, his arm aching from how tight he held it.
"B-but...why?"
He let the luggage fall to his side, the heavy object knocking into his legs. There was a long silence, allowing Bruce to swallow up any regret from what he was about to say.
"Tony," he breathed staring at the engineer in the eyes. "Im sorry, but after what you've just proved i don't think i can stay here anymore."
"Prove?!" Tony's voice rose as he took a step forward. "What i just proved?! What is that even supposed to mean? I haven't done anything wrong these past few days!"
Bruce growled. "Stop denying it Tony! Just realize you're in the wrong this time." He huffed. "I cant handle someone like YOU near me."
There was another pause. Tony growled, and thrust the luggage onto the floor.
"Fine." He huffed. "Leave."
Bruce nodded, grabbing the object before walking down the staircase.
Tony glared at the door, walking up to it and slamming it shut. He let out ab enraged cry, pounding his arm against the wood.
"Sir." He could hear Jarvis mutter. "They are about to leave the premises."
Tony gave a water smily, grabbing his microphone. He forced his voice to appear cheery as he called out to them.
"Have a safe trip fellas!" He laughed, his voice booming though the main speaker on the lobby floor.
He could faintly see Natasha flip him off, and Bruce shake his head.
He smiled and walked inside.
"Jarvis black out." He muttered, dropping his body onto the couch.
Soon enough the floor he was on turned dark, the sunlight blocked out by the tinted windows.
He dropped his head and clutched it between his palms. He ran a hand through his hair as he breathed heavily. Slamming his hands onto the couch he forced himself up. He walked around the room, hitting his sides onto the furniture as he walked.
Huffing he walked away from all the furniture, away from memories. If they wanted to leave so be it, he didn't need them.
He slammed into the wall, cursing loudly as he rubbed his head in pain. He almost expected to her Barton laugh at his misery and Steve to chuckle. When Tony heard nothing, he felt like crying.
They got to him, snuggled themselves tight under his skin. He needed them around and they left him. What did he do? Why was it so hard to keep the people he generally liked.
He fell to the floor in agony, letting the tears fall freely. They failed him, they would always fail him.
He knew at some point his repulsive attitude would get to them at one point and force them to leave. But he never expected for him to get so attached to the group. He never realized how bad their words would cut him, it was not as bad as Obadiah, but it still hurt.
He felt the urge to leave, and to never see them again.
'Weak, useless, worthless.'
Why did they have to make him feel that way? Why did no one ever stay?
He clutched his chest as he forced his sobs to subside.
'Stark men don't cry, their made of iron!'
He looked around, faintly noticing the mirror he had in his hall way. He crawled towards it, wishing that he was okay. He wiped away his tears and stood up. He saw his reflection, and to him he looked dead.
He gave himself a fake smile, his lips upturning and a small flash of white could be seen. The glow of the arc reactor illuminating his face.
He was shocked to see how real that smile looked, it even reached his eyes.
'Fake, fake, fake, fake.'
His mind was taunting him, stopping momentarily from his ideas.
"Go away." He muttered silently.
He could feel his mind create illusions in front of him, forcing him to see what he didn't want to see.
He saw them laughing, taunting him. Breaking him down and forcing him to bleed.
'Worthless, useless, stupid.'
His pupils shrunk as the voices grew louder, he flinched back when he saw the mirror distort in front of him.
'Stupid, worthless, useless.'
He started to sob, clutching his head into his hands once again. One hand sliding down to cover his right eye as he cried.
"Shut up!" He yelled.
The voices got louder and louder, flowing around him.
'Useless, stupid, worthless.'
He growled, thrusting his fist out.
"SHUT UP!" He snapped.
Tony heard the shattering if glass as the voices stopped. Hissing as he felt the broken pieces cut into his skin. He reeled back to hold his bleeding arm, slowly looking up to stare at his reflection.
Tony wasn't surprised to see himself, he was however shocked as he took notice of his appearance. He noted his puffy red eyes, and flowing tears that forced him to blink repeatedly. He saw the frightened scowl he wore.
"They don't want me." He whispered.
Walking to the bar, he rinsed his arm under warm water. Opening the cabinet underneath the faucet he gripped the first aid kid. Taking out the leftover disinfection wipes he carefully wiped his arm.
"Stop caring," he muttered to himself as he wrapped his arm. "Stop caring for them."
A crooked smile kissed his lips.
"Don't show them what they lost, show them what they gained."
He laughed sadistically, he couldn't wait to see them again.

A week later
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Clint plopped into his chair in the middle of the half-round table, right across from Fury's. He watched as Banner sat to the far right. Natasha, Thor and Steve all sat to his left.
He could see Steve twiddle his thumbs and stared at the empty seat across from him. Thor tapping Steve in the back in comfort.
There was a long silence, that forced Clint to look around the room. No one was going to say anything.
After about a minute or so, Banner slammed his hands on the table.
"We need to apologize." He huffed, glaring at them all.
"There's no need for us too apologize Banner, its was all Tony's fault." Clint stated slightly.
"No it wasn't, we all just assumed!"
"So you think Tony has a reason for abandoning us in a fight without warning us whatsoever." Steve added. "I don't think i want to apologize for that."
"Did you guys even ask him? Maybe he did have a good reason why?"
"Then why did you not ask him green one?" Thor asked raising an eyebrow at the scientist.
"Because you all made him seem so bad in my eyes that i just gave in, I'm not trying to say it was all your fault because I'm in the wrong as well!" Banner growled. "For all we know Tony was probably attacked trying to get to us and his communication systems were damaged"
Before any of them could argue, they heard the doors slam open. They all turned to see Fury and Tony walk in without a care in the world.
Without a word they both sat in their respective spots, forcing the others to stay quiet about their argument.
"Rodgers report on last weeks mission." Fury gruffly demanded, glaring at them all with his left eye.
"Sir," Steve sighed. "According to Agents Romonaff and Barton, these robots were from sector 18 of the Hammer industries. They were after high business companies of mechanical products up in the west side of the city. All civilians were tossed aside or demolished if they got in the droids line of sight. In the middle of battle, we noticed they changed tactics quickly and started to go after us. We called on Stark to help us out, but he never showed up, forcing Clint to create a suicide dive if it wasn't for Hulk. We were to overwhelmed."
Fury closed his eye in frustration before nodding and turning to Tony.
"And what do you have to say in all this, Stark?"
Tony tolled his eyes and placed a small device in the center if the table. Whipping his found out, he tapes furiously until they saw a video feed.
"I was on my way, coming in from the south-east part of town." He flicked through pictures that showed him speeding through the skies. "I was about a hundred miles away from my destination as i was attacked by a couple of droids myself."
They could see about twenty of the robots crash into Tony, forcing him still in his movements.
Clint gulped, feeling dread drop into his stomach.
"At first i thought i could easily power threw them, especially since they were Hammer's bots." He paused a bit. "But apparently he added in another protocol, because one of them latched onto to me and sent overpowering electricity glow through the suit. This is also one of the older marks since my previous ones are still in repair so it wasn't able to handle so much electricity." He calmly stated. "My communicator was jammed in the battle and i was forced to let out the excess amount of energy by firing my repulser rays repeatedly. Even then the bots had managed to do a number on me before i wiped them out. I tried going down to where Rodgers had told me to go but all i saw was a clean up crew."
With that the hologram disappeared.
After another long conversation with Fury, the meeting ended.
Tony was moving to get up, when Banner caught his arm.
"Tony, look i'm really sorry about what i did, i should've listened to you." He stated sadly, praying Tony would turn to look at him.
"Yeah Tony, we were being complete morons." Clint chuckled. "Can you forgive us?"
There was a ling silence before Tony brushed off Bruce's hand.
He turned to glare at them, forcing Clint to flinch at his stare.
"Why should I?" He asked darkly, "you all jumped at the chance to leave me alone, so why should i give you another chance?"
He turned to move before Natasha grabbed his shoulder.
"Tony we are trying to apologize, the least you can do is acknowledge it!" She hissed.
He grabbed her arm and thrusted it away from him.
"I did acknowledge it Ms. Romanoff, i am just choosing for you not yo be forgiven." He growled back before walking away. "Oh and its Stark to you."
With that he stomped out, slamming the doors behind him. There was a long silence.
"What have we done?" Steve gasped in horror.
They would never see him again. At least, not the way he used to be around them. No more smiling, no more laughing, no jokes, pranks, movie nights, no anything. They ruined it, they ruined their friendship.
And this time, it wasn't Tony's fault.
A/N: HEYO! Well i was rereading this and didn't like it so i rewrote it. I REALLY HOPE YOU ALL LIKE THIS SO MUCH BETTER. So this wont blend into a three story type of thing because i realized its be way to fucking complicated, so hear you go.
