Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter that right goes to JK Rowling, if I did I would have Dean Tomas and I would love it! I do own the plot of this story. Tell me what you think, and give me some suggestions if you have any. Thank you, Enjoy.

"Molly dear, I'm sure that they can handle going to the platform by themselves." Mr. Weasley as the group of five pulled up to King's Cross Train Station. Looking at his wife he noticed that she was going to start to argue with him of the fact that she wanted to be there for them even if they didn't want her there. "Oh all right dear," he said as he found a parking spot near the main entrance.

"He is so whipped," Harry whispered to Hermione, in the back seat, causing her let out a snort before she could stop it. The look that the two of them got from the other youngest Weasley had the brown haired witch slapping her friend on the arm.

"I would tell you to behave but that would be a waste of breath," Hermione said as she rolled her eyes at her friends trying to ignore the young redhead that was looking between the two of them with confusion written on her face. "I don't care if they don't know what you mean by that little comment, it was rude." She hissed out as she elbowed him in the ribs when he started to laugh at her.

"Hermione, Harry, stop plotting to take over the world," Mrs. Weasley said as Author turned the car off. "Alright you three ready?" She asked as the two parents got out of the car and started to take the trunks out of the back of the car.

"Here you three go," Mr. Weasley said as he pulled three carts over to them so that they could load them up the way that they wanted to. "Ginny don't slam the door!" he started to say to his daughter as she slid out of the car, only to not care what her father said and slammed the door shut.

"Thank you Mr. Weasley," Hermione told the male as she placed her pet carrier containing her beloved Crookshanks on top of her school trunk before she snatched Harry's new owl from the back seat as well. "Sweet Merlin, Harry, how can you carry her?" she asked her friend as she sagged under the weight of the owl in the carrier. Her comment got her a pointed look from the female owl, "Sorry Celeste," She said after she gave the cage to her owner and ran two of her fingers over the top of the black owl, her amber eyes closing before she nipped at the fingers rubbing her head.

"I was carrying Hedwig when I was just a scrawny first year," He answered putting the cage on his trunk and started to walk towards the entrance of the train station. "But she was lighter so that doesn't count, never mind." He said as he got a chuckle from the parents that were fallowing the two.

"Really, I didn't think you could find an owl that is heavier than what she was," Ginny said as she pushed her way between the two slightly older teenagers. "Surely Celeste is not as heavy." She said looking at the owl that looked like she was asleep.

"You would be surprised," the black haired wizard said as he walked through the door into the crowed station.

"Don't get too far ahead of us," The three teens stopped to wait for the parents.

"Mrs. Weasley, Harry and I have to get to the train for a meeting that is to begin before the train starts towards the school." Hermione said as she looked towards the red-haired woman. "It's so that those that a prefect or head as well as in the Slug Club can make it to both and still have time to catch up with friends on the bus." She said to those around her. "It was in the letter Harry," she said as he gave her a confused look.

"Oh all right, I will see you two soon." Molly said as she pulled the two into a hug before letting them run onto the platform. "Do not start, Ginevra," the mother told her daughter as she looked like she was about to complain.

Platform 9 and three quarters was crowed. It was like nothing had changed from two years ago, of course the two had no idea what it was like the year before to see if there was a change. It seemed, however, that as soon as Harry stepped on the platform time was frozen.

"I don't think that this was a good idea 'Mione," Harry said as he leaned down to whisper in her ear. "Most have to hate me," he said and he sounded down again.

"I don't think that, that is possible to do," the bushy haired teen said as she pushed her friend with her cart. "Come on we have to hurry." She laughed as she rushed off towards the train. "Find an open compartment, than we have to go to the front of the train for the meeting." She said as started to drag her trunk along the walkway.

"'Mione, right here," Harry said as he opened the door to the seats and started to put his trunk on the top rail. "Here you go Celeste, I will be back soon," He told his owl when he put her on one of the seats.

"Harry can you get this for me?" Hermione asked when she handed him her school trunk to put on the top rack as well. "Crookshanks make sure no one take our place," she told the ginger cat before rubbing his chin getting a purr from the fur ball she called a cat.

The witch grabbed her friends hand and started pulling him towards the meeting that they had to attend. The two continued on in silence as they passed others making their ways to open seats as well as those trying to find their friends that promised to keep a seat or two open. Every so often the duo would pass one or two students that stop what they were doing and stare at them, some with their mouths open and others not. As they got closer to their destination they noticed that some were starting to whisper about something however they would stop as they made their way past them.

"I feel like they are waiting for me to do something," Harry said as they passed a group of giggling fourth years. "I would have thought that there would be fewer students in the walkway right now. I don't think that I can handle another group that decides that it is a good idea to start to whisper something after we pass." He said as he shuddered at the thought.

"It will be fine," his best friend tried to cheer him up but didn't look back at him. "Besides it is completely harmless, and you know it," she joked with him. "You better hope that you never have girls, by the time that they are five they will know how to make 'The Great Harry Potter' run for the hills with just a look." She said with a snort just before a little one ran into her. "Are you alright?" she asked as she caught the young girl, and didn't let go of her until she had her balance again.

"Thank you miss, and yes I am fine," the new student said in a quiet voice as she looked down at her shoes, her brown hair covering her green eyes and the blush that making its way to her cheeks.

"Emily where are you?" The three heard a male's voice coming from behind them. "There you are," he said as he spotted the two older students with his twin sister. "I hope Emily didn't bug you two too much," he said as his darker green eyes took in his slightly younger siblings form.

"Oh don't worry about her, 'Mione caught her before she could cause herself or anyone else any damage." Harry said as he took in the form of the two, obviously muggle-born, students. "What is your name?"

"Mathew Strong, sir. May I ask what your name is?" He said looking at the older wizard.

"I'm Hermione Granger and this is Harry Potter," she introduced the two of them not taking her eyes off of the little girl, now known as Emily Strong. "You two are muggle-born, correct?" she asked the twins. With a nod from the male of the two she couldn't help but smile, "I know that it is scary leaving your old life behind to come into a new world. If you need any help adjusting or just any questions don't hesitate to come to me, I will help you in any way that I can."

"Thank you Hermione." Emily looked up at her with a smile that lite up her face. "Could one of you possibly tell us what house you two are in?"

"We are both in Gryffindor," Hermione told the two first years with pride. "Now the train should be leaving soon, why don't you two star heading back to your seats." She said to them her smile not leaving her face.

"We haven't been able to find any yet," Mathew said as looked over towards the witch.

"Why don't you sit with us? We will be there after the prefects and Slug Club's meetings but it shouldn't be longer than an hour." Harry asked the two in front of him. "We are down the way, towards the end, there will be a black owl and a ginger fur ball called a cat. I don't know if there will be others in there but if there are tell them we will be there soon." He finished as when he saw them nod.

"We will see you two soon," Hermione said as they took off in search of the seating that they were told about. "There, they won't know about you yet so they won't bug you about your scar." She laughed at her friends face.

"Alright, behave will you," he said as he pushed his friend into the compartment that the meeting would be held. Already there were two people in their, the first was a strawberry blond female with ice blue eyes. The second was a black haired female that had brown eyes. They were talking quietly to each other with their heads leaning together.

"I tell you that all the time, but do you listen to me? No you do not." Hermione said as she took a seat near the door. "Therefore I do not have to listen to you telling me to behave." She said and crossed her arms across her chest.

"Don't be like that 'Mione," he uttered as he sat down next to her. "Hello you two," he said to the others for the first time acknowledging that there were others in the cabin with him and his best friend. "How have you been?" he asked when they stopped talking to each other.

"Honestly Harry if you don't know how we are all you had to do was ask. I'm Susan Bones, last year Hufflepuff." The strawberry blond said as she ran her hand through her hair and put a lock of it behind one ear. "I have been better, but I have been worse." She laughed as she took in his face.

"I'm Sylvia Melville, seventh year Slytherin," The other female said as winked at him. "I feel better now that Riddle is gone, thank you for that." She said as she tilted her head to the left.

"Believe me it was my pleasure to kill him." Harry said as he crossed his arms, but her ended up with an elbow to his ribs for his trouble. Looking over at the culprit he saw her giving him a "told you so" look. "Fine you were right and I was wrong, is that what you wanted to hear 'Mione?" He asked her losing the other two prefects in the room.

"You should know by now that you don't bet against me," she said sounding smug.

The four in the room spent the next few minutes getting to know each other better, but for the most part the two woman prefects thanking Harry for taking care of Voldemort and the reasons why. Susan told them that it was because Riddle was the reason that her mother spent four months in Saint Mungos. While Sylvia told them that it was because Riddle threated to kill her in front of her parents if they didn't do what he wanted.

The next two to walk into the compartment were the Patil twins both thanking Harry and Hermione for what they did during the war. They were trailed by a blond haired, green eyed male and a red haired green eyed boy that said that they were both from Hufflepuff the first said that he was the head boy named Brendon Halkirk, the second the other prefect named Hecate Oakham.

Those in the compartment felt the train start to move as the last two prefects came in. The first was Theodor Nott and the other a Revenclaw with light brown hair and hazel eyes, Stephen Cornfoot.

"Now that we are all here and know each other first order of business is to figure out the schedule for rounds," Brandon said from his seat.

"Who all is comfortable with each other?" Hermione asked as she looked around the room. "Alright than," she said when no one said anything. "How about on Mondays from 10 to 11, Sylvia and Stephen go together? Tuesday we can have Pravati and Hecate together? Pamda and Theodor will be on Wednesday? On Thursday we can have Susan and Harry? Than on Friday Brandon and I will go together? Any problems with the order or who you are paired with?" She asked getting no negative responses she nodded her head at them all. "We will do that, the weekends are taken by the professors so we don't have to worry about that."

"Now, the first Hogsmeade trip will be third weekend in October?" Brandon asked, "Or would that be too soon?"

"It will give the student body the time to get used to the amount of schoolwork that they will have this year, so they can plan accurately." Sylvia said trying to get the others to see the reason behind this decision.

"All in favor the third weekend in October?" Brandon asked causing the others in the room to raise their hands. "Very well we will tell Headmistress McGonagall this when Hermione and I meet with her tomorrow."

"Another thing that Headmistress McGonagall and the other Professors were thinking was a dance before Christmas break. Would that be something that you would like to do? We also have to keep in consideration that Professor Slughorn has a party around that time as well." Hermione said as she looked around at the other once more, trying to gage their reaction to this new topic.

"It would be a great way for those of us, who aren't in the Slug Club, to have fun," Padma said.

"We should talk about it again closer to December," Pravati said after her sister.

"Than that is what we will do," Brandon said as he stretched his arms over his head. "I think that, that is all we have to discus." He said standing up and walking out the door the others following suit.

"Across the walkway Harry," Hermione said from behind her friend. "We still have one more meeting to do before we can go back to our compartment."

"I don't want to do this," He said looking down at the ground but went in anyway.

"Ah Harry my boy!" Horus bellowed as the two of them waked into the already crowded compartment. "I thought that you two would be no shows, at least you are here now." He said as he slapped Harry on the back making he stumble a little bit.

"Hello Professor, sorry but the prefect meeting went a little longer than what you expecting," Hermione said as she sat down next to Dean.

"As I was saying before these two came in. This year is going to be challenging, not only am I placing higher expectations for those in my Potion class but all of us teachers are going to push you as hard as we can. Do be prepared that no one will go easy on you." The Professor said to those that he "collected."

"What do you mean by that Professor?" a female voice from the back of the crowd.

"We are coming off of dark time my dears, you all know this, but we want to make sure that you all are ready for anything. There will be a day when we will not have to go through these extremes but that won't be for a few years at least." He answered the question without giving away more information than what he needed to. For the next 30 minutes he made sure that everyone in the room knew why they were chosen, some were there because of their family name, others their grades and then there was Harry Potter, no explanation needed. "Now remember this, a true friend will follow you to the end of the world and back, keep those friends close. I will see you all in class."

"So Hermione is it true that you are only into a wizard if they have a 'name'?" A spiteful witch asked as she passed by.

"What was that about?" Hermione asked her friend, but she didn't get an answer from him. "Whatever, let's see if Mathew and Emily are still there," She said as she grabbed his hand and started dragging him towards the back of the train again.

"One of these days you are pop my shoulder out of place dragging me like that." The wizard said as he caught up to her and through her over his shoulder. "Since you did that I think I will carry you like this until we get to our seats." He laughed as she hit his chest.

"You are such a goober," she said as he started shaking her. "Be glad that we didn't eat that much before we left to catch the train or that I don't get motion sickness easily."

"And that is you are my friend, you take me as I am," he joked as they got to the compartment that they chose for the journey to school, "looks like we have a full house in there. Hey look its Luna and Neville as well as the Strong's." He told the woman that was lying over his shoulder before he opened the door. "You two might want to move." He told the younger wizards, once they moved he threw his cargo onto the seat.

"I hate it when you do that!" She huffed as she let her cat out of his cage and put him on her lap.

AN- This chapter was supposed to be in the last chapter but because it went over 2,500 words I cut it out of that chapter. If I could show you my notes on any of my stories you would laugh your ass off at how much I scribble out, how unorganized, and how messy they are. Yes all of the names of the Prefects and Head Boy are names in the books but their looks are from my imagination.

Thank you for reading, Sugar!
