The Sky's Fall ch6
Tsuna knew that there was something very wrong as he regained his senses. Slowly the sound of cedar crackling and the roar of the fire was echoing in his ears. The foul smell of something burning, something along the lines of burning meat, assaulted him.
He felt himself sway as he opened his eyes. He was standing but he fell onto his knees. His arms reflexively reached in front of him to catch his fall only for it to splash into something wet. He tried to blink away the blurriness from his eyes and the haze clouded over his mind to see why the floor was wet.
'It's dark, why is it so dark? Red, red water?' He tried to grasp the idea but it kept slipping away. A tightness started to form in his chest as his instincts caught up before his mind. Gasping, he yanked his arm away like he was bitten.
"B-blood", Tsuna murmured.
That seemed to snap the teen out of his daze. He looked up, finally taking in his surroundings; only to be met with a horrific sight.
Red, red was everywhere. The orange color of flames licked at his feet and all around him. The creaking sounds of dry wood falling down in the distance. But it wasn't those things that scared him the most, it was his reflection in the cracked blood stained mirror in front of him.
A flame was placed were his familiar sky flames would be on his forehead, but it wasn't his. A darker warped orange flame blazed wildly along with black flames that seemed to swirl with his orange coming from the center of his forehead.
Terrified red eyes looked back at him. Sharp cat-like pupils glowing more than his orange eyes ever did. It was a burning crimson that would forever haunt him. The amount of red that drenched his clothes was disgusting; and he knew that it wasn't his.
He wanted to scream, to cry, to run away. He felt sick, he was losing his mind. He stumbled to the ground again, pushing himself away from the thing in the mirror that was him, beyond terrified of himself.
He stopped when his hand snaked into something warm, it felt like a sponge. He whipped his head around and the brunet wished he hadn't.
A pool of blood, guts, severed limbs, cracked open skulls, and organs, which once used to be two normal people, were all spread out for the world to see. Tsuna realized whose blood he was covered in.
A blood curdling scream ripped out of his throat, echoing around the forest. He clenched his head at the sight. Tears rapidly ran down his face, and his voice was cut off. The last thing he ate surged up out of his mouth and on to the floor. Soon his stomach was empty and his body was ravaged with dry heaves from the horrible smell from the corpses, the fire still raging in the background.
His body was trembling; he needed to get out of the burning house. He blindly tried to find the door. His body didn't seem to want to work with him as he stumbled around bumping into fallen pillars, only getting himself burnt.
Bursting out the door, he ran away for the burning house. He then froze, remembering something. What was he supposed to do now? He hesitantly looked back.
'You killed them', The brunet's thoughts mocked him.
No, he didn't mean to. It wasn't his fault, but it was.
The knot in his stomach tightened further. He turned away from the house as if he could ignore what he had just done. He looked at his hands that were tainted with blood.
Those two had been nothing but kind to him. Why had he done that? Why is his mind blank like he had passed out? The last thing he remembered he was about to walk out the door with Burch.
There must be something wrong with him. He didn't want to think about it, but his flames were part black.
'Oh, my god', He was horrified, the syringe they injected in him, it couldn't be because of it could it? There was no way. He desperately tried to deny it, but it was plain for him to see. 'I'm a monster'
His hands were shaking and the tears came back.
A loud bang made the brunet jump into the air. He looked behind him to the house to see the roof collapsing in on itself and his bloody foot prints in the snow. It made him remember that he needed to get out of here. Pushing his thoughts to the back of his mind, he turned to the woods, and started his trek through the snow.
He was heading down the mountain blindly through the forest. He quickly realized that it was not his greatest idea. Sitting down on a fallen log he thought, if he should even consider flying. He didn't want to look at his hands but he took a quick glance at his sky ring.
Standing up, he shook his arms out, and clenched his fists in an attempt to surge up his flames by will. It took him a few minutes but he eventually summoned his normal flame in his hands.
Taking a shaky breath, he jumped into the sky and took off. He flew as high as he could, going in and out of the clouds.
He flew over a few small towns and mountains, keeping his mind blank. He couldn't risk thinking about what had happened, his emotions would go out of control, and he could fall out of the sky.
By the time he found what he was looking for, the sun was setting on the horizon. Flying down he landed beside a small lake, away from any houses. He wasted no time in throwing his bag to the side and stripping down to his boxers.
He slowly submerged himself into the freezing water, yelling out as the water felt like metal sinking into his body. He vigorously scrubbed at his body to wash away the blood. The cuts on his back and burns he had gotten stung as the water seeped in, and his body ached from the sudden cold.
He reached over and grabbed his clothes and dunked them in to the lake. He scrubbed them with his hands. More tears spilled down his face as he watched the water around him turn a pink color. He tossed the clothes over onto the ground in a soggy pile.
He let his emotions go has he cried and screamed at the world.
He couldn't got back home now, what if he blanked out again, and hurts his friends? What if he hurts his family? He couldn't bear to think of that, he has to do something; but what? He was so lost and afraid of himself, he's all alone on the other side of the planet. He can't go back home until he fixed this problem, what was he going to do?
Tsuna pulled himself out of the water, freezing, and partly blue. The teen managing to summon his flame, trying to heat himself up. He rushed over to his bag and, with one hand, grabbed a blanket out of the bag. He wrapped it around himself to try and get a little heat. Kicking some fallen timber, he gathered a pile under a pine tree so he could light a fire.
Walking over, he grabbed his wet clothes that had started to freeze and sloppily hung them over the fire. Curling up, the brunet huddled as close as he could to the fire without setting the blanket on fire. Slowly, he let his eyes flutter close, and he drift off to sleep.

Something warm was rubbing up against the brunet. His eyes fluttered open, stirring awake. His eyelids ached and were cold, leaving a strange sensation over his eyes. he reached up to rub his eyes but something pulled his arm down.
"Gao!"
Tsuna flinched back at the sudden noise blinking the sand out for his eyes, he looked down to see an orange mane.
"Natsu!" He beamed at the small cub, happy to see a familiar face.
"Gaaoo!" The little lion jumped up into his arm rubbing it's head against Tsuna's chest. The brunet felt guilty for forgetting about his partner, he was about to apologize but Natsu suddenly swiped his forehead harshly.
"Ow! I know, I'm sorry." He rubbed his forehead trying to get rid of the marks.
Tsuna glomped the lion as to say 'I'm sorry', cuddling the cub into his bare chest. He stopped looked around, confused when he saw that he was shirtless in the middle of the forest. For a second of bliss, he had no idea why.
"O-Oh yeah", The brunet said, remembering why he was half naked.
He felt his chest tighten and he felt sick. He had run away. Tears built up in his eyes and he heard a sob. He looked down at the little lion cub in his arms, large round tears falling from the cubs eyes, what sounded to be hiccups came from the cub as well.
His guilt swelled up in his chest and a few tears ran down his own face. He wiped them away trying to pick himself up, he couldn't sit here and mope. He promised Reborn that he would stop crying over useless things, he had no time for crying. He patted Natsu's head, running his fingers through the flame-like mane.
"Come on, we have to keep moving." Tsuna said, trying to comfort the shaken cub. Slowly the tears stopped from the lions eyes and the brunet wiped the cubs face of the remains. "It's about time we leave." The sky guardian said, getting up, and grabbing his dried clothes.
He reached for his bag, shuffling through it, and found what he was looking for. He took the bandages out with some cotton balls, rubbing alcohol, and that weird medical tape. Sitting down, he picked up the cotton ball and dabbed it in the rubbing alcohol.
"Natsu, can you see where its open?" He said to his partner, who had been sitting beside the fire, watching him.
The lion gao'ed in response, walking around to his back.
"Gaoo." The cub growled from behind him, Tsuna could tell the cub didn't like what he saw.
"I know, it looks bad." The brunet said, agreeing with the loin.
The cub gently placed his paw on the untouched skin beside what looked to be a opening in the stitches.
"Thanks", Tsuna said, feeling where the opening was.
He reached over and gently placed the cotton ball trying to clean it. He hissed at the sting and grabbed a clean cotton ball and placed it over the opening. He repeated the actions on all the ones Natsu pointed out, he was sure he had lost at least 8 stitches.
Finally done, he took the bandages and carefully wrapped it around his back. When he had finished the brunet grabbed the weird ass tape and secured it with that along with some of the baby pins. He didn't bother with the injury on his head or any of the burns he got.
Finally done, he put on his clothes. He stored the blanket he had been using back in the bag, took a few maps and a compass out of the bag.
He spread the first map out it was of Switzerland and some of the surrounding countries, Burch had circled a spot where the town is.
He wasn't sure how far he had flown or what direction, he wasn't sure what to do but heading to Italy would be better than hanging out in the forest. He pouted when his stomach growled, he was really hungry.
He grabbed the compass and stood up, lining himself up to the south direction. The brunet decided to just start heading south where he would feel more comfortable in a country he was acquainted with.
Rounding up the maps, he stuffed them into the bag and summoning up his flames. He took off into the sky with Natsu on his shoulder and compass around his neck.
He flew for what felt like a couple hours.
Slowly, the landscape below started to change from rocky mountains to snow covered hills and empty olive fields. He caught sight of a highway, following it for about 20 minutes. He came upon a city. Flying down he landed in a small group of trees on the outskirts.
When he landed, Natsu jumped off, and he sat down, pulling out the money filled envelope Burch gave him. He instantly felt guilty as there was at least ten thousand yen* in euros here. He toke a few bills out and closed it back up, putting it at the bottom of the bag.
"Natsu, you have to go back into the ring now." He turned to his lion friend, not liking the idea either.
"Gaoo", The cub sadly agreed, dematerializing back into the ring.
Tsuna took a deep breath to calm his nerves. Walking out of the bush, he walked down a side street into the city. He was happy to see the traffic signs in Italian as he went further into the city.
He walked around for an hour, not sure of what to do, and the streets being fairly crowded. He had managed to get the name of the city and point it out on the map. He was in Aosta in the north-west corner of Italy, there was a small amount of pride of how far he had flown in two days.
Finally deciding he had seen enough of the old buildings, he walked to a small friendly looking café across the street.
The bell above the door chimed when he walked in, there was a waitress waiting by the door. She turned and greeted the brunet in Italian. She asked him how many, and Tsuna took a moment to switch over to Italian.
"O-Only one" he said in broken Italian. Reborn would have killed him if he heard his poor attempt at Italian.
The waitress smiled at him, and motioning for the teen to follow her. She led him to a small table by the window setting the menu down.
"I'll be back when you are ready to order." She said and walked off.
Sliding the chair out, he sat down, careful of his back. Opening the menu, he flinched, his stomach making a sharp pain at the pictures of food. Deciding on three different kinds of sandwiches and a coffee, he closed the menu, and waited.
The waitress came back asking what he wanted. He became a bit flustered at such a big order just for himself. He gave her his order and she said it would be a few minutes, and left.
While he was waiting, he glanced at the clock trying to keep his mind busy. It was 5:07pm and it would be getting dark soon. He didn't have a place to sleep; and he wasn't sure if he wanted to waste money on a hotel room. He was probably better off sleeping in the woods anyway.
"Here you are sir." Tsuna snapped out of his thoughts moving his elbows off of the table as the waitress put his food down.
"G-Grazie." the brunet said, looking at the food, and instantly started to drool.
The waitress giggled into her hand smiling at him. The way she laughed reminded him of Kyoko-chan. "Enjoy your meal" she said and wanders to other customers at a table.
Tsuna ate his meal in peace, filling his stomach to the brim, his only worries were if he could keep it down.
Downing the last of his coffee, he left a tip and paid for his meal at the front. Walking out of the café, he started making his way to a grocery store. He needed some supplies if he was going to be sleeping in the forest.
Spotting one across the street he stepped out onto the crosswalk, not seeing the red hand.
"Hey!" Someone yelled.
He was suddenly jerked back onto the sidewalk, landing on his ass. He had barely missed the semi-truck that zoomed by right in front of him, mere inches away. He was shocked and it took him a few seconds before he could get his mind to work out what just happened. That truck would have hit him and he had no doubt that it would have killed him. A very bad feeling settled on his skin and fear clenched his heart.
It wasn't because he would have died if it had hit him, but because he had no idea that it was coming.
