Cecil was lying peacefully with his head resting on Carlos's chest. His legs were curled up and his hands were laid on Carlos's stomach. Carlos stroked the sleeping man's pale blonde hair and smiled softly. Cecil had slightly bruised looking bags under all three of his eyes and Carlos absolutely hated it. Since their work schedules had been conflicting lately Cecil had taken to staying up late so he could be with his boyfriend. Carlos looked up as he heard Cecil's phone ring. He let go with one hand and gently pulled the small rectangle from the sleeping blonde's pocket and answered it before it could wake Cecil.

"Hello?" Carlos asked.

"Carlos? Where's Cecil?" A voice he recognized as Tim, the current intern at Nightvale Broadcasting, asked in response.

"Sleeping, can it wait?"

"I was calling to say we need him to pull a double shift tomorrow because our other speaker cancelled." Carlos looked down and shook his head slowly.

"Nope."

"Excuse me?"

"He's not doubling. Get someone else to do it." He heard Tim start to respond but he hung up before he could hear the protest. He leaned over to set the phone on the coffee table, trying not to jostle Cecil as he did so and then went back to stroking Cecil's hair, chest and arms after adjusting into a more comfortable position.

A few minutes later Cecil stirred slightly. He made a small, soft sound and his third eye fluttered briefly before opening to reveal its bright violet color. It remained distant for a second before focusing on Carlos's face and he smiled as his other eyes opened.

"Hey." He greeted sleepily. "How much of the movie did I miss?"

"Not much, I paused it when I saw you had fallen asleep."

"Oh you didn't need to do that I could have watched it later."

"But it wouldn't be fun to watch it without you." Carlos protested gently. Cecil sat up, yawned and stretched his arms out above his head then finally realized he had fallen asleep on Carlos.

"Oh… sorry." He started to get up but Carlos grabbed him and pulled him back down to his chest.

"If you want to get up I'll let you. But not yet. Just stay here for a bit okay?" Cecil nodded with a smile and resumed his position on his boyfriend's chest. Soon he was asleep again.

Carlos woke up not realizing he had fallen asleep until he came around and noticed that Cecil was gone and the room was getting dark as the sun was setting. He sighed and stood up, rubbing his hand through his black hair. He went to the radio in the kitchen and turned it to the only channel available in Nightvale.

"Goodnight Nightvale… goodnight." Cecil trailed off seductively.

"Darn… I missed it." Carlos muttered.

"And goodnight Carlos, I love you Sweetheart." Cecil added before cutting out. Carlos smiled and pressed a hand to the radio before pressing a kiss to one of the speakers.

"I love you too."
