Nercy Fanfic: It's Okay

Nico was sitting at his desk in his room on the Argo II. He was to set off for Camp Half-Blood with Reyna, Coach Hedge, and the Athena Parthenos the next day, which could, no, would, be dangerous.

He thought about his journey to save Percy and Annabeth from Tartarus and how, because of Cupid, he had to face the truth.

He had a crush on Percy. And Jason knew. The only other person who had known was Bianca, and Bianca…

"Ugh!" Nico slammed his palms onto the desk. He didn't even want to accept that he liked Percy. Percy had Annabeth, and they were in love. They'd gone through Hell together and survived. That made their relationship even stronger. Percy would never drop Annabeth for Nico. Not after what they'd just gone through. Never.

There was a knock at Nico's door.

"Come in," grumbled Nico, not in the mood for company.

Jason entered the room. Nico groaned. Jason was the last person he wanted to see.

"Hey, Nico," Jason said. "How's it going?"

"I'm fine." Nico's voice was dark. If he mentioned the incident regarding Percy one more time—

"So, if you ever want, or need, to talk about… you know…" started Jason.

Nico flipped around, anger in his eyes. "I don't!" he exploded. "Jason, I don't need your help or anyone else's! I am going to deal with this on my own!"

Jason looked a bit startled, but got the point. He stepped out quietly, but smiled on his way. It obviously meant 'the offer still stands' but Nico didn't care. He didn't need Jason's charity.
The next knock came a little while later, after Nico had gone to sleep.

He opened his eyes and yelled, "WHAT."

"It's me," called Percy from outside the door. "Can I come in?"

Nico sighed and contemplated letting Percy in. Going against his better judgement, he put on a shirt and yelled, "Go ahead."

Percy came in, looking better than when he had come back from Tartarus. His obsidian black hair was shaggy and had clumps of dirt stuck in it. He had scrapes on his face and bandages covering up particularly nasty wounds. His arm was in a sling, indicating it was broken.

"Hey, Nico," he said cheerfully. "How're you holding up?"

Nico thought for a moment. "Terrible," he said not so cheerfully.

"Oh." Percy's smile faded. He sat next to Nico on his bed. "So…" he said, trying to keep the conversation going.

Nico didn't cooperate. He was tired and cranky.

Percy tried again. "So, I was talking to Jason, and –"

Nico got up and ran from his room. Had Jason told Percy he liked him? He needed to avoid the situation.

He found Hazel's room and knocked urgently.

She opened the door, yawning. "Hey. It's late."

Nico heard footsteps, presumably Percy's. "I need to hide," he said, slipping into Hazel's room.

He crouched by Hazel's bed, hoping there wouldn't be a knock.

There wasn't.

When he assumed Percy was finally gone, he thanked Hazel for hiding him and left. Hazel was a bit confused but went back to sleep anyway.

When Nico was back into his room, he noticed the lights were on. There was a note on his bed.

The writing on it was messy but legible.

When Nico read it, he groaned and stuck his face into his hands.

The note read:

"It's okay. –P"
