Mountebanks and Catapults
"She's dead!" cried Lord Catapult.
"She has died for the love of that worthless Mountebank who wooed her!" sobbed Lady Catapult.
"No, actually I shot her," said Rodeo Mountebank, strolling out of the shadows. "I led her on so I could get close to both of you, because of the wrong you have done me."
"It is your family who wrongs ours!" said Lady Catapult, angrily.
"No, dear stepmother; it is your husband who wronged my mother," said Rodeo. "And when your daughter asked wherefore might I be Rodeo, I laughed to know that I was romancing my half sister. Now I'm going to shoot you."
He levelled his pistol and shot Lord Catapult, his natural father.
A moment later, there was a horrid rumbling noise and the crypt caved in, made unstable by the noise of the shot, and both families died out as Rodeo too was crushed by falling stone.
