Here is the new chapter as promised.

I wanted to give Blossom an edge, but even doe Brick and hers first meeting was nice it doesn't mean that they will fall in love immediately I want their relationship to develope.

Chapter 6

Blossom's (P.O.V)

''Welcome to my lab!'' Kellen's cheerful voice echoed through the large hallways. I looked over at Bubbles and Buttercup as they stared at the halls in awe. It had been a stressful day with the whole wolves attack and finding Heather adventure, but I'm just glad that everyone's okay.

The walls of the hallway were a simple light gray colour and had a swirly designs on them. I looked up at the ceiling which was high. Modern lights hung from it as Kellen led us through the halls.

Vampires rushed at a pace slightly faster than a human could go as they carefully held the left over glasses from the picking. They were all in white lab coats as they nodded to Kellen before scurrying away.

Lord Brick hadn't said a word since we got here. He was more relaxed now, but his jaw has slightly clenched. To an unknowing eye it may not have been noticeable, but it was to me. I risked bumping him on the shoulder. He looked down at me as we walked, his red eyes read confusion. He sent me a questionable stare before looking straight again. The rest of the walk was kind of awkward.

Soon enough Kellen motioned for us to enter the room. Lord Brick held the door open like a gentlemen well that's more like the Brick that I first meet. I sent him a smile which he returned with a grin before looking at the ground.

''Ah, Blossom, Buttercup! ''I was gasping for air as Buttercup and I were wrapped in a hug. I looked up to see Lord Blake smiling at us. We met him when the wolves brought Heather back, he was healing her. ''Nice to see you again girls!''

''The pleasure is ours Lord Blake-''

''Call me Blake!'' He smiled approvingly as if to confirm.

''And who is this gorgeous girl? ''Blake asked turning to Bubbles.

Before Bubbles could answer Boomer cut in wrapping a protective arm around her sending Blake a small glare ''This is my mate Bubbles.''

''Blake, how's the girl? ''Kellen asked his eyebrows dipped in concern. I smiled inwardly, they seem to genuinely care for her health-at least they weren't the cold hearted vampires I made them out to be.

''She's doing good. Just a fracture of the ribs and arm injury as well as the bite on the shoulder. Nothing I couldn't fix with the quick flick of the wrist.'' Blake waved his arms around playfully, one eyebrow raised as he looked at us. I couldn't help but laugh.

''Where is she now? ''Lord Brick interrupted. He looked between the four of us raising a brow.

''She's sleeping in the emergency room in the lab.'' Blake answered leaning against the wall. A knock on the door made us all turn.

''Come in.''

A man who looked to be 19 walked in, his movements somewhat graceful. He had glasses and his dirty blonde hair was galled in a weird sort of way. He nodded to the five lords who nodded before he gave Buttercup, Bubbles and me a friendly wave. I waved back happy that he seemed nice. He was in a white lab coat which was slightly too big for him.

''Sir?'' He said his voice kind of noisily. He seemed to be addressing Kellen who nodded to him. ''We need your help with the project.''

''Thank you for informing me Mark. I'll be there in a second.'' Mark nodded before exiting the room. There is was again the mention of this project. I felt curiosity bubble up inside me. Kellen seemed to notice as he looked at me slightly amused.

''Would you girls like to come with us? To see what I've been working on? '' I was shocked at his proposal. I looked over at Bubbles and Buttercup who seemed to be to busy with their mates to even notice Kellen.

''Kellen I don't think that's such a good idea. Don't take it personally girls-'' Blake gave us-mostly me-an apologetic look,'' I don't think this is right. There are vampire mates-after all us six and the scientists are the only ones that-''

''They won't tell.''I was surprised to hear Lord Butch defending us, ''I'm sure we can trust them not to talk or they will be punished, right babe? ''He winked at Buttercup as she returned it with a death glare.

Blake still seemed unsure, but nodded anyway. Kellen seemed delighted to reveal his project as he excitedly opened the door. ''This way!'' He shouted as he sprinted forward excitedly. Blake seemed to chase him as the sped away in blurs. Lord Brick rolled his eyes as he stayed by my side, his brothers chuckling besides us.

''The project's on the top floor-since there are no elevators here this should be a long flight of stairs'' He said looking at Buttercup, Bubbles and I. Our eyes widened as we saw the spiral stair case. So. Many. Stair. My face must have been funny because Lord Brick laughed. His laugh was hesitant, but it was progress at least he's not mad anymore.

''We have a long way to go-in the mean time I'd like to know more about you girls.'' He said as we went up the first flight of stairs. I was surprised, but decided to go with it he seems nice.

''I'll go first to break the ice'' Bubbles started, ''My name is Bubbles Ragone. I'm from Venice, Italy and my hobby is drawing, that seemed to calm me down and it's my escape from the world.'' I get what she was saying living in these circumstances can get really scary and sometimes you just lose hope, the little things can brighten up your mood.

''I didn't know you were Italian I've been there a couple of times it's beautiful.'' Kellen said giving Bubbles a wide grin which she returned. ''How about you Buttercup? ''

''Well my full name is Buttercup De La Fuente. I'm from Barcelona, Spain and I have three annoying older brothers who I love to hate. My hobbies included soccer, swimming and boxing. I chose boxing as a way of self-defence, plus I like hitting things''

''You sure are alethic I see why you're Butch's mate and that boxing thing well it suits you'' Kellen said carefully processing everything that Buttercup had said. Butch looked at her and grinned to himself, he really does like her.

''Well Blossom you're the only one left so tell us something about yourself'' Kellen said smiling at me.

''My name is Blossom Bane, I'm originally from Germany, but I moved to California when I was 5. I have an older brother and my hobbies before this were reading and fencing.''

''Hmm fencing? '' Lord Brick questioned.

''I like feeling like I can fight.'' I admitted. ''Knowing how to fence makes me feel more comfortable in this world I guess.'' It was true. This world was full of vampires. The closest thing to handling a sword was fencing to me. I want to protect my family and my unborn sister. My mom was due sometime this month and it saddened me that I wouldn't ever get to know her.

''Why the long face? ''I looked up with surprise. I was good at hiding emotions-not as good as Buttercup, who seemed to hide her blushes really well-yet somehow Lord Brick saw right through me.

''I-'' I considered lying. He was my 'mate' and I didn't have to like it. But as I looked into his intense red eyes I saw similar sadness behind them-I couldn't help but spill, ''My mom was due to give birth to my baby sister this month. I'll never get to know her.''

As I said that Bubbles caught me in a hug which was very comforting , she's much stronger that I thought, but I noticed that she didn't mention her family. I looked at Lord Brick who nodded, his red eyes understanding and slightly guilty.

''I'm sorry to hear that.'' He said gently. His usually bitter tone was now kind.

''I don't need your pity. People had pitied me my whole life.'' It's true when I was 5 my father left that's why we moved to America as if to get as far away from Germany as possible. I plastered a blank face, I'm not going to appear weak.

''I can see right through the tough act Blossom.''He whispered suddenly his voice deep and raspy, ''So don't act like you're the only one with a sad life.''

''Enough about me-'' I sputtered,'' I want to know more about yo, my lord.''

''A-about me? There is nothing to know about me.'' Right when I though he was coming out of his shell, his walls went back up.

''Oh really? You don't have a life story? A background? Don't act like you have a dull history.'' He growled in frustration as I pushed on. I let out a similar noise as we both huffed crossing our arms. On the bright side we were finally at the top of the stair case. ''-and what about a girlfriend? Family?''

Okay so listen up this isn't like the vampire books you read we are mates, but being someone's mate doesn't mean that you have to necessarily fall in love with them, it's kind of like a title of some sort. The vampire who is your said 'mate' can drink your blood, but It isn't the only blood he needs to survive as I've read anyway.

At the mention of girlfriend Lord Brick visibly flinched and he cringed slightly. I felt guilty, but stood my ground. I had started this conversation and I intended to finish it.

We stared at each other fiercely our eyes glued to each others. Both of our eyes were burning with determination. I was determined to find out about what had made him so bitter-he was determined to hide it. We were in a silent battle against one another, both too stubborn to back down.

''Are we interrupting something?...''We tore our eyes away from each other to see Lord Boomer and Bubbles looking at us intently, ''You two took your time.''

''Sorry to keep you waiting.'' Lord Brick said dryly. Lord Boomer rolled his eyes, before going into the room where the lab was placed.

'' I call this project-'' Project Enchancment.'' Kellen said proudly as we entered the lab. I looked at Buttercup who gave me a bored look, which I took as sign that there was an introduction.

''What a creative name...'' Lord Butch muttered while Buttercup let out a quite laugh beside him. Kellen shook his head with a sign before playfully shoving him.

I took this opportunity to look around. There were about 10 scientists in the room. They all rushed around speaking in hush voices. Some had clipboards in their hands while others had test tubes. On a single table which was crowded around I saw five test tubes. Two of five where filled with blood. There were names on each one giving away who's blood it was. The empty one was Lord Brick, Lord Boomer and Lord Butch.

''Why are those empty? ''I asked curiously. Kellen glared at Lord Butch accusingly.

''Brick,Boomer and Butch refuse to take part! This is for a good cause-''

''This will put everyone in danger-''

''Please Boomer! If I had your and your brothers blood, our project will be near complete! We need your young blood to create a dose-''

''I'm sorry to ask, but what kind of project is it? ''Bubbles butted in. They turned to her as Kellen's eyes twinkled.

''An enhancement project! Our knights, scientists, doctors, guards and minions may be well taught, but they aren't invincible. I came up with a solution-what if the chosen few were as strong as the young lord's? Or as smart as them? Or could they tell future like Boomer? Or heal like Blake? Or could compel people like Butch? We'd had more defenses-a better kingdom! I would be just the lords anymore! Think about the possibilities!'' Kellen said dramatically. He raised his arms high making gestures as if the whole plan was layed out in front of our eyes. ''We've come so close and discovered that the finishing binder may be our blood! Mitch and Blake have agreed to participate.

''We can't let this happen! What if someone takes dose and uses it against us! Use that big grain of your Kellen and THINK!'' Lord Butch countered. Before Kellen could reply Blake interrupted.

''-Anyway-'' he said looking pointy at the two of them before looking at Buttercup, Bubbles and i with a warm smile. ''We're quite hungry now-perhaps you'll join us for dinner?'' Dinner. I felt my eyes widen at the thought of them feeding on us...Blake quickly realized his poor choice in words and his own eyes widened.

''No,no! It's not that you think Blossom! We aren't going to eat you girls or anything -right guys?'' He looked at the four lords who nodded. ''Great! Mitch can come with his mate and I can bring my mate Bunny!''

Buttercup was about to protest, but was cut of my Blake's exited blabbering. Great.

I was having dinner with vampires.
