THEIR HAPPILY EVER AFTER

AUTHOR'S NOTE/DISCLAIMER

Takes places during "Death And The Maiden". I don't know. I just got the urge to do a Silas/Amara fic. I felt that Amara deserved a happily ever after with the man she loved. Vampire Diaries belongs to L.J. Smith and the CW.

Silas gasped as he felt himself dying. This really hurt. He hadn't expected it to hurt. At least, not this bad. Then again, he had been alive for two thousand years so maybe the pain intensified the longer you stayed on the Earth. But no matter. Pain during death was better than staying alive as stone. That had sucked. Qetsiyah was just a raving bitch. But at least now he was getting what he longed for: death. A few moments later, he reappeared on a different plain. He was dead now. Good. But where was he? Silas looked around, trying to figure out his surroundings. From what he could tell, it was the village that he had lived in when he was his mortal. This was his idea of Heaven? Okay then. He could work with this. Now he just had to wait for Amara. He sat down on the grass and made himself comfortable. He looked around and drummed his fingers.

"Any time, hon!" he called after a while. Then, he fell silent again. He had waited this long for his love. Surely he could wait a few more minutes. Back on Earth, Amara gasped as she felt her essence slipping away despite the man's pleading for her to stay with him. She knew why he was imploring her to stay alive: he wanted to make sure that the anchor had been recast so that his girlfriend could have her best friend back. And she was trying to give him that. She wanted to repay the kindness that he was trying to show to another, but it was so hard. Silas was calling to her and she wanted to be with him. Finally, she couldn't hold it any longer and she could feel the last vestiges of her breath slipping.

"S—s—so-" she said as she closed her eyes. She had tried. Hopefully, she had held on long enough for the spell to work. When the woman opened her eyes again, she found herself back in the village of her youth. What am I doing here? she wondered. "Silas?" she asked, standing up and looking around. Where was he? Had he not made it here? The thought that they had been separated once again made her heart plummet. This couldn't be happening. Not after everything they had been through.

"Amara!" a voice called and she gasped happily as she turned in the direction of the sound.

"Silas!" she shouted, and ran to him, wrapping him in a hug as he did the same to her. They kissed and held each other close. Finally, after all these years, they had their happily ever after.
