Apologies for the terribly late update... The good news: I've only got one year of school left, and the bad: it means I'm going to be really busy because it's my final year... I'll be updating again soon (I hope), before our vacation ends! We've got another special waiting, on top of the main story!
A huge thank you to all those who have stuck with us 3
We hope you enjoy Chapter 17 as well as this special! A flashback back to where it all started can't hurt, right?
~TheFlyingNeko and Red Dragon
Louise strolled down the streets of Tokyo with Saito by her side, her eyes wide as she took in her surroundings, while she slowly nibbled on a mochi (rice cake). Saito was bringing Louise around to try all sorts of gourmet foods.
Meanwhile, a distance away…
"Is that…" A figure whispers as she squints her eyes.
"It is!"
The mysterious figure charged head first towards Saito, tackling him with a hug, the impact causing him to lose his balance and fall on his back. Saito looked up, wincing, and his eyes immediately widened in recognition.
"A-Airi-chan!"
Saito shifted his weight and his gaze accidentally fell on Airi-chan's chest. His face flared up and he felt the blood about to pour out of his nose, so he quickly reached his hand up to his nose
Louise was shocked! "W-Wh-Who is that!?" Louise stared at the girl, who donned a bright red uniform, golden hair with beautiful locks and a face that looked like it just came out of shoujo manga. She was admittedly pretty.
"Saito-kun! Where were you!? I have been thinking of you all these three years! Man, you've grown! Did you know…" The girl blabbered nonstop to a frozen Saito, who was still sitting on the ground, covering his face as the mysterious girl straddled him.
Louise was pissed. "Saito…"
Hearing Louise's voice, Saito snapped awake and quickly stood up and turned to Louise, before shouting nervously "Louise... No!" as he saw Louise bring her wand up.
"B-B-Baka INU!" BAM!
Saito quickly grabbed Airi-chan and ran off to the nearest building, as he felt the area behind him explode. Louise had done it again. Everything was on fire and there was a huge commotion as crowds gathered, even the TV crew.
Meanwhile…
Saito's parents were watching television.
"Breaking news, a big explosion at has been observed at Minato Ward 2, and it is believed to be a gas explosion of some sort. We are still observing the situation and no casualties have been reported yet."
Saito's parents both noticed Saito in the video, covered in a coat and running away with a girl while his head turned back to the explosion site, which was being filmed on camera.
Saito's mom asked, "Is that … Saito?" She looked closely to confirm it, "It is!"
Saito's dad jumped to his feet. "Looks like he brought a girlfriend with him! Or perhaps...?" He glanced over at Saito's mom and grinned, his mind flashing back to the past.
On the other hand, Saito ran back to the explosion site and picked up a stunned Louise, before pulling her to the building he found refuge in.
"Who is she! She just hugged you as if… As if you belonged to her!" Louise shrugged Saito's hand off hers, and proceeded to glare at him.
"Belonged? Ooo... I see someone is jealous." Saito teased.
"Me!?" Louise replied, flustered.
"Louise is Jealous! Louise is Jealous! Jealous, jealous!" Saito teased even further, the consequences of his actions slipping out of his mind.
Louise picked up her wand with frustration.
At that moment, Saito quickly stroked Louise's head and hugged her close. With a smile, he said "There there, don't be angry." Louise stared blankly in space, shocked by Saito's sudden actions.
"Saito-san! What was that! Who is she!?" Airi shouted, shocked and afraid.
"Airi-chan, this is.." Before Saito could finish his sentence, Louise shoved him away and stepped towards the girl, flashing the ring on her finger. She pointed at herself, proudly, and exclaimed, "I am Saito's wife!" The corners of her mouth twitched as she stood straight, satisfied.
"A ring…" Airi mumbled, looking towards Saito for confirmation.
"Yes, she is my wife." Saito followed, rubbing his head as slowly stood up.
Saito continued. "Louise, this is Airi-chan, my childhood friend."
Louise's eyebrows twitched at the word "My", and she started to feel her blood boil. Hmph! She turned away.
Saito stared blankly at the pink-haired tsundere in front of him, wondering why she turned away.
"Well, Louise may look mean, bossy, scary, not to mention easily jealous- OW!" A fist landed with the side of Saito's face, and he fell to the ground before he continued, "But, she is not as mean as she looks..."
Airi stared at the bizarre situation that unfolded in front of her, shocked. "What I'm seeing and hearing is completely different." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "Could you perhaps be a masochist?"
"Airi-chan…" Saito frowned at her words.
"Wait, wait! You've been gone for three years now; I got all worried about you and you went and got… Married? I... I'm going home, I just remembered that I forgot to… Um, do the laundry." Airi-chan mumbled as she immediately ran off, sobbing. Saito looked at her retreating figure and frowned, confused, before his thoughts were interrupted by Louise.
"Saito, who am I? Who do you love!?" Louise exclaimed.
"You are my wife and I love you." Saito replied automatically.
"G-glad you know that, you baka inu…"
Saito and Louise then left to see Saito's parents...
Meanwhile…
Airi-chan sat down on the swing at the nearby playground, sniffling as she sobbed. "How? No way... Why? I can't accept this..." She stared at the ground and thought of how much time she spent worrying for the past few years.
Time flew as she sat on the swing, and she looked up to see the street lights already turned on, the sky dark. She then turned on her phone to check the time. "Oh, I didn't know it was already this late..." She mumbled as she stood up and started heading home.
As she walked, she felt someone's eyes on her back, and turned to the left to see 2 shadows getting closer to her. She quickly quickened her pace, knowing that there were people following her. She did not want to turn behind, but she had to confirm it. She then turned to see two men in hoodies closely following her, causing her to gasp. She immediately whipped her phone out again, scrolled to the contact called 'Hiraga Saito', and hastily pressed the call button.
Saito was settling in the nostalgic place he used to call home, while Louise had a chat with his mother, when his phone started to ring.
"Airi-chan?"
There was no response."
"... Airi-chan?"
"Saito-san, help... I've been followed. I'm at…" Saito quickly stood up and gathered his things.
"On my way." He hung up.
Louise turned around and, puzzled, asked, "What happened?"
"Well, Airi-chan's in some trouble… I'll be back…" Saito prepared to run off, but Louise quickly grabbed his arm to stop him.
"Saito, I'm coming with you." Louise proclaimed.
"Alright." Saito agreed, surprised.
"Haha... You can't run away now…" One of the punks in bright orange hair said.
"Saito-san, help.." Airi mumbled.
"Hey! Get away from her!" Saito quickly ran over and gave one of the men a roundhouse kick, and the other was running away, but Louise used a pan and hit the guy hard on the head.
"W-W-Where did you get the pan Louise?" Saito shouted, surprised.
"I took it from… Somewhere."
"Saito-san!" Airi-chan tackled Saito once again, causing him to fall to the ground, wrapped in Airi's embrace.
"Saito-san, thank you. Are you hurt?"
"That should be my question, are you hurt Airi-chan?"
"Saito-san, I... I never stop thinking about you..."
Louise stared at the situation, shell shocked. She was angry. Reflexively, she lifted the pan, but she paused, dropped the pan, and started to walk away.
Saito tried to chase after Louise, but was stopped by Airi. "Saito-san.."
"Sorry Airi-chan." Saito quickly pushed Airi-chan away from his body.
"I only have one person in my mind, Louise."
Airi frowned. "I see. Many years have passed, it is not a surprise that you found someone new. So, I'm gonna let this one slide and be happy for you." Airi-chan said as she smiled.
"Go to your wife now, I'm sure she needs you the most now." Airi-chan said.
"Mmm!" Saito smiled.
Meanwhile, Louise grabbed hold of Saito's pillow and started cursing into it. Just like the previous times where she caught Saito with anyone else, Louise was feeling sad and angry.
Ayame and Kichirou stood outside the door, watching Louise worriedly.
"Is she going to be alright? I wonder what happen." Ayame whispered, causing Kichirou to shrug in confusion.
Just then... "I'm home! Louise?" Saito said, as he quickly took his shoes off. Saito saw Ayame and Kichirou pointing Saito to where Louise is.
"There you are! I was looking for everywhere for you."
Saito quickly drew Louise into a hug, causing her to be surprised. "Louise, you are the only person in my mind and no one can ever replace you." Saito whispered as he gave Louise a peck on her forehead.
Louise flushed and her face turned bright red in embarrassment. "W-W-Well.. O-O-Of course, you idiot." She said, before she whispered the next part. "You're the only one for me too."
Kichirou and Ayame smiled as they walked away.
"Like father like son." Kichirou smiled at Ayame, who smiled back.
Afterwhich, Louise and Saito continued "where they left off"...
