So... it's been a while, huh? I'm not going to try to justify my sudden absence, but this time I will leave an explanation. Really, it's just that I don't have as much time to write as I did when I started. I have a lot to do between my job, school, family among other things. This has been bugging me for a while and I'm glad I finally got around to writing it, but I'm also here to say I'm going into an unofficial retirement. Things might change and I might come back to writing, but for the foreseeable future, I will not be doing anymore updates. However, I still love the fandom and reading the odd fanfic now and then and I'll do my best to respond if anyone wants to PM me. But for now, please enjoy the next (and probably final) chapter of Pyrrha(c) Victory.

Two women glared at each other from across the arena. The red headed champion, Pyrrha Nikos readied Milo in its spear form and had Akouo prepared to defend. Her challenger, Julie Arc, raised a halberd almost twice her size into a battle stance. Professor Goodwitch, who agreed to be th ref of the sparing match stood to the side with one arm in the air. "Alright ladies, this will be a standard duel. The first one to have her aura reduced to the red is considered defeated."

The professor shot a nervous look to the younger girl. "Are you sure you want to do this, Ms Arc? Ms Nikos is not an opponent that you should challenge lightly."

Julie broke hr glare to look up at a very tired looking Jaune in the stands before she nodded. "I'm sure."

"Very well," Goodwitch said as she lowered her arm, "Begin!"

Both fighters shot towards each other. The sounds of their weapons clashing rang as the two launched and countered a series of high speed attacks. Pyrrha took Jaune's warning about Julie seriously, but she did not expect the young girl to be this talented. They broke apart and Pyrrha took the opportunity to put some distance between herself and her opponent, switching Milo to rifle mode. However, after firing a few shots that were easily deflected by the spinning halberd, Pyrrha had to take dodge when Julie quickly transformed her weapon. The blade at the top became a handle as it slid down to the middle of the weapon, leaving an opening. With a second to charge, the young Arc unleashed what appeared to be an electrically charged bullet.

"A railgun!" Blake exclaimed.

"So cool!" Ruby's eyes lit up at the sight of the new weapon.

"Aw crap," Jaune could only mutter, desperately trying to find a way to settle this peacefully.

Pyrrha continued to dodge shots, knowing that even Akuou wouldn't be able to deflect a railgun shot. In the split second in between shots, the Spartan themed girl focused on her aura and used her semblance to slightly throw off Julie's aim. When the shot landed a few feet were the younger girl intended and Julie looked at her weapon with confusion, which gave Pyrrha the time to close the distance, now changing Milo into a sword.

Before could react, Pyrrha confronted her and the two were locked once again, but with her weapon still in gun form, Julie was quickly being pushed back into a corner. With one final twist of her blade, Pyrrha dislodged the weapon from Julie's grip and sent it flying, leaving her opponent unarmed. The champion raised her sword to Julie's throat. "It's over."

"Winner, Pyrrha Nikos," Professor Goodwitch announced.

Julie only stared back, stunned, until tears began to form in her eyes. In an instant, she dropped to her knees and started to sob. All of the anger and adrenaline from the fight drained from Pyrrha as she watched the crying girl. Jaune vaulted over the ledge of the stands and rushed over to the two. "Julie! Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"I didn't mean..." Pyrrha mumbled, her guilt swelling.

"Pyrrha!" Jaune turned to his girlfriend. "Don't feel bad! It was a good fight! But you fought well too, Julie, I mean, you both, uh, I mean... Gah! This is too hard," Jaune clutched his head, not sure how he could console both girls at once.

"I'm sorry," Julie sobbed, "I only wanted to protect Jaune. I didn't want to be so mean."

The others approached the group as Pyrrha responded. "Protect? We're in the top academy for monster hunting. Why do you think Jaune needs to be protected?"

"Because he's a wimp," Julie started to calm down, but was still chocking on her words.

"I thought you got some defended her from some bullies when you were young." Yang looked to Jaune.

"Well, you see-" Jaune started.

"They beat him up until they got bored and left," Julie sniffled, "but it was still really nice and brave of him to do that for me."

Jaune laughed nervously at the looks he got from his friends.

Pyrrha knelt down to talk to Julie. "Listen, it's really sweet that you care for your brother the way you do, but he isn't as weak as you think. Well, not anymore at least. We told you about those Grimm he killed, right?"

"I thought you were lying about that so Jaune wouldn't say anything. People are always taking advantage of his kindness without him noticing and I just assumed you were another," Julie stopped her tears by this point, but still held a saddened expression.

"Actually, Pyrrha has been helping me train so that I could be a better hunter," Jaune interrupted.

"Really?" Julie asked.

"Yep! And she never wanted anything in return... accept for that time she hunted across the school..."

"Because you were being an idiot," Pyrrha interjected.

"We moved past that!" Jaune replied quickly. "Anyways, Pyrrha is really nice and has been the greatest friend-"

"Girlfriend," Pyrrha corrected.

Jaune sighed. "Greatest girlfriend I could ask for. I think you'd like her if you got to know her."

Julie cast her gaze down. "So you're becoming a better hunter and have someone else to protect you. I guess you don't need me to come here. Or want me to with the way I acted."

Jaune chuckled and pulled his sister into a hug. "Julie, you're my sister and I love you. Just because I'm with Pyrrha doesn't mean I don't want you around. I'd be happy if you came to Beacon."

"Really?" Julie pulled back to look her brother in the eye.

"Of course. Besides, as the older brother, it's my job to protect you."

The younger arm leaped up and out of Jaune's arms. "Well then. I guess I should finish my tour of the school. And Pyrrha, I am sorry."

"It's all in the past," Pyrrha smiled to her.

Julie hugged her former rival. "I guess I can't stay mad at my future sister-in-law."

"Wait, sister in what!" Jaune jumped up. "I think it's a little early to start thinking like that."

"Oh I don't know," Pyrrha shot her boyfriend a mischievous look, "I don't think she's far off."

"We're too young!" Jaune tried to reason.

"Actually, I'm pretty sure you two are old enough to legally marry," Yang snickered.

Jaune paled as Pyrrha's grin grew. "You know Julie, I'd love one of the Arc girl's opinions on wedding preparations. We'd have plenty of time to talk if you came next year."

Julie's eyes sparkled. "Next year!? I already have a dozen ideas. We can talk about them over lunch."

The two girls walked off, now friends, talking and giggling, leaving Jaune opened mouthed and wondering what sort of torture his girlfriend and his sister could come up with for him. Sun walked up and clasped him on the shoulder. "Dang, just when I thought it was getting better for you."

The group met up with the rest of RWBY and JNPR in the cafeteria, where they told the others about the dual and where Pyrrha and Julie started talking about future plans, much to Jaune's dismay. About half way through the lunch, Ruby slid up next to Julie to start a conversation. "Sooo... that halberd/railgun is pretty cool."

Julie smiled. "You think? Thanks. I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to weapons and thankfully the relic that our parents wanted to pass on went to Jaune. I guess I went a little crazy when making Biri-biri."

"You like weapons too? I thought yours was so cool. You need to show me how it works!"

Julie blushed and looked away. "Well I have to be gone by the end of the day, but I'm coming here next year. I wouldn't mind spending some time with you."

Blake and Ren had to scoot away from the heiress between them, whose aura of anger was so intense it could almost be seen by the naked eye. "Aw, I guess it can't be helped if you have to leave, but I'm looking forward to working with you."

Julie started to twirl a strand of hair and looked shyly to Ruby. "Yeah, m-me too."

Weiss suddenly stood up. "Excuse me Julie," she said through clenched teeth, "do you you think you're up for another dual?"

"Oh come on," Jaune sighed and put his head in his hands while Pyrrha patted him sympathetically on the back.

Hope you liked it
