I decided to add a mini-epilogue at the request of a reader, so here you go :)

Sorry it took a while!

Fitz spun around in amazement, the look on his face reminding Simmons of a boy in a toy store.

As they were shown into Tony Stark's lab by one of his workers, Simmons could understand why Fitz was so mesmerised. The lab itself was huge and packed all kinds of different tools and equipment, half of which she'd never seen before. But when she felt Fitz's hand tighten in hers, she knew that he was not only well aware of what they all were, but he was itching to get his hands on them himself.

Before she could warn him, he rushed forward, releasing her hand. He came to stop in front of what she assumed was a part of the Iron Man suit, lying on a workbench. It looked like some sort of thruster. Although Simmons trusted that Fitz would handle it with the utmost care, she hoped that Tony wouldn't be much longer lest something… unfortunate happen.

Stark had been running late and said it was fine for them to wait in the lab until he was done, hence Fitz currently talking to himself as Simmons watched on in amusement, albeit a little uneasily.

"…would give it maximum power, but Mr Stark would already know that, of course. I wonder if he…" She let him continue while she stood beside him, smiling softly. Admittedly, it was one of the things she loved about him, his ability to get lost in what he was so passionate about. In the six months they'd been together, she'd never been happier. They'd spent all their time with each other before they'd even started dating, and now they were more inseparable than ever. The rest of the team were no doubt sick of their PDA, but she couldn't get enough of him and wanted everyone to know that he was hers, and she was his.

If it was possible, their personal relationship allowed their professional one to improve as well, so much so that they were visiting Stark Tower to discuss a joint project for SHIELD. The project was still in its infancy, but if Mr Stark thought it was a good idea then they could move forward with it.

Just then, an attractive woman came into the lab, smiling as she spotted them.

"Fitzsimmons?" She inquired, walking over.

Simmons nodded. "He's Fitz," she said automatically, pointing to her boyfriend and returning the woman's smile. "I'm Simmons."

"Pepper Potts," the woman said, reaching her hand out. "It's a pleasure to meet you both. Tony has nothing but good things to say about you."

As Simmons opened her mouth to thank her, Fitz rushed forward. "He… Mr Stark mentioned us? He mentioned us by name?"

Pepper raised her eyebrows, and smiled again. "Yes, he sings your praises."

Fitz looked like he was about to swoon, and Simmons resisted giggling at his behaviour.

Tony Stark chose that moment to stroll in, confidence oozing from every pore. However, as he got closer to them, his arrogant posture relaxed, his face lit up and a rare, genuine smile blessed his face.

"Hey," he said happily, as he came to stand next to Pepper. He gave her a kiss on the cheek. "I see you met the famous duo Fitzsimmons."

Pepper laughed. "I have. But now I need to take care of some stuff downstairs." She brushed her lips across his quickly. "I'll be back up in a couple of hours. It was very nice to meet you both, you're welcome here anytime."

When she turned to walk off, Simmons glanced over at Fitz to see him looking at Pepper strangely. He then stared at Mr Stark intently as he was explaining something. Simmons reached over and grabbed his hand, squeezing it.

"Fitz? What's wrong?" she asked. "Are you alright?"

Tony stopped mid-sentence when he saw Simmons and Fitz holding hands.

"Well, well, well," Tony announced smugly. "New couple alert? Tell me, when did this happen?"

Simmons noticed Fitz blushing. "Uh… actually-"

"Right after you left us, actually," Simmons interrupted in confusion. "We began our relationship that same day."

Tony laughed at that. "Oh god, I am good. I even amaze myself sometimes. I should be the new Oprah. I should host my own talk show, shouldn't I?"

Grinning at Fitz one last time, Tony spun on his heel and walked further into the lab, laughing and commenting about what a spectacular advice giver he was.

"What on earth was that about?" Simmons asked Fitz, but he looked like at her in dry amusement.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," he said, shaking his head in disbelief. She figured he was probably right. Some inside joke she wouldn't find very amusing or something.

Simmons decided to leave it at that.

I hope you enjoyed it :)
