Yuki, Tohru, and Kyo were sitting in class talking. The Yuki Fan Club was standing behind them whispering to one another.

"I wonder what they're talking about," Yuki said. Yuki thought it was weird that they were not crowding him like usual. He liked that they were leaving him alone today but it felt weird, nonetheless.

"Oh, well there's a rumor going around that there is a new girl at school. Maybe that's what they're talking about," Tohru answered.

"What there's a new girl?!" Kyo and Yuki said at the same time. They scowled at each other.

"Stop doing that," Kyo said through gritted teeth.

"I can't help it, stupid cat," Yuki replied.

"So you guys really didn't know that there is a new girl coming in a few days?" Uo asked Kyo and Yuki.

The guys stopped glaring at each other and looked at her. "Where did you come from?" Kyo queried.

"What are you talking about I've been sitting here the whole time," Uo said.

"As have I," Hanajima said. Kyo jumped as Hanajima said this.

"You're here too!" Kyo shouted.

"I just said that," Hanajima said.

Just then the bell rang, signaling the end of the day, and everyone went home.

Tohru walked home with Kyo and Yuki that evening as usual. Work had been fine but something was obviously troubling her and Kyo took note of this. Tohru seemed distant on their walks home ever since she saw Kyo's true form and talked to Akito a month ago. Kyo finally broke the silence.

"What's up with you? You're always smiling and the past month you haven't been," he said. Tohru jumped as she came out of her trance.

"Oh, nothing, I-I was just thinking that's all," she replied.

"Fine, don't tell us what's wrong with you; I didn't really care anyway," Kyo mumbled.

"Stop it stupid cat! If she doesn't want to tell us, she doesn't have to," Yuki said trying not to let Tohru hear him. He turned to Tohru and said, "I'm sorry for Kyo's rude behavior, Miss Honda. If you don't want to tell us, you don't have to."

"Oh, well thank you but I really don't want the two of you to start fighting because of me. I was just thinking about what Akito said to me last month and everything that happened. I just can't get his words out of my head. It makes me sad to think about it-," Tohru said but was interrupted by Kyo.

"Akito? Why would you be thinking about what he said? What's wrong with you?" Kyo shouted, frustrated at the girl.

"O-Oh, I-I'm sorry," Tohru said.

"You just couldn't keep your mouth closed, you stupid cat. Now you've upset Miss Honda," Yuki said to Kyo who looked even angrier.

"That's it. Are you asking for a fight?" an angered Kyo shouted at Yuki.

"No, not in front of Miss Honda," Yuki retorted.

"Then why don't you shut up, you stupid rat," Kyo screamed, infuriated.

"I didn't say anything in the first place," Yuki replied.

"Oh no, please don't fight," pleaded Tohru but her plea was not heard for Kyo and Yuki were now spitting insults at each other. They had completely forgotten Tohru was there, but they kept walking anyway.

Tohru just couldn't get Akito's words out of her head. "Alive! You call this being alive! Do you!? Being told the day you were born that you are to die! And they never even asked me!" Akito had said. The words were rattling in her brain ever since he said them, but Tohru couldn't help but feel sorry for Akito. Akito had been on the verge of crying and Tohru wanted to comfort him and tell him that there were people who still loved him. She wanted to tell him that he did not have to treat his family so cruel. She wanted to explain that there was still hope.

"What are you doing? Let's go," said Kyo when he noticed Tohru had stopped walking. Tohru didn't notice Kyo and Yuki had stopped fighting.

"Oh, right. I'm coming," Tohru replied cheerfully. They walked the rest of the way home without any more arguing.

"Kyo," Tohru said as they walked inside the house. "Can I talk to you for a second?"

"Yeah sure. What's up?" Kyo replied. Yuki went to his room.

"Kyo, umm. How was your day at school?" Tohru said, not wanting to ask what she really wanted anymore. 'Why did I say that instead? Why can't I just have the courage to ask him?' she thought to herself.

"It was fine. Is that all you wanted to ask me?" he asked confused about why Tohru pulled him aside just to ask that. This had been happening ever since she talked to Akito. 'Why can't she just tell me what's on her mind?' he thought to himself.

'Just tell him!' Tohru thought. "Uhh, uhh. Yeah that's all. Sorry I bothered you," she responded instead.

"Alright then. What are you making for dinner?" Kyo inquired.

"Uhh, rice balls," she retorted.

"OK, that sounds good. Come get me when you're done, please," he said.

"Oh of course!" Tohru replied. Kyo started to walk away. "Uhh, Kyo. There's one more thing I need to tell you."

"Yeah, what is it?" Kyo said in such a sweet voice it made Tohru's heart skip a beat.

"I want to talk about what happened last month," she said hesitantly.

"What about it?" Kyo queried not sure where she was going with this. He wanted her to continue anyway. 'Maybe she'll tell what's been bothering her for a month,' Kyo thought.

"Well, I was just wondering... are we still friends?" Tohru queried dubiously.

"Well uhh. Yeah we are still friends! What made you think that we weren't?" Kyo said hurriedly.

"I don't know. It's just I'm not sure if we are more than friends now or not," Tohru said shyly.

"Oh uhh. Do you want to be more than friends?" Kyo said while trying to hide that fact that he loves where this conversation headed. 'Is this actually happening?' he thought to himself.

"Uhh, do you. I mean we don't have to if you don't want to. I don't want to force you to-" she replied but stopped when she noticed that Kyo was getting closer. 'Is he going to kiss me?' she thought.

Kyo leaned forward and closed his eyes and Tohru did the same.

BAM!

They bumped heads and now were starting at each other. A few seconds later and they were laughing with each other. "Well did that answer your question?" Kyo asked when they calmed down.

"Yes it did," Tohru said.

It is now official. Tohru and Kyo are in a relationship.
