Danielle Harper was perhaps the most awkward person on the entire planet. It wasn't like she was ugly or anything downright horrendous. In fact, she had been called gorgeous more than a handful of times and she was sure she's been nice enough to people during her short seventeen years. But she just could not interact with people for long periods of times. Her hands would begin to get clammy and her heart would throb uncomfortably against her chest. She got panic attacks in social situations. It wasn't her fault that she was raised in a household where one was judged with an ever critical eye.

To Dani, she was everything her parents hated. She didn't like to go with the stifling rules the Bible set upon them. She thought it was all a bunch of lies and that if you're happy, then you should go for it. She thought that it was bullshit that she had to go 'turn the other cheek' when someone bullied her. She wanted to fight back, or at least have her parents defend her. She didn't want to go to college and become a lawyer. She wanted to move to New York and become a singer. She didn't want to marry a nice Christian man. She wanted to find a girl that she would fall passionately in love with.

But she couldn't do any of those, or else her parents would throw her away like trash. So she kept her head down and made sure she didn't socialize much. She knew that just one slip could break her facade and send her packing.

She sighed as she booted up her laptop. Her parents had put blocks on more than one website, even 9gag, because they thought those were sinful places. She was thankful that her parents even allowed her to get a laptop (it involved a lot of pleading and a logical argument about its aid in her studies). But her parents were no technical geniuses and her brother had been more than happy to help her bypass some of the blocks, for a price.

Sure it may have cost her more than a year's worth of allowance, but it was a small price to pay if that meant that she could continue talking to this stranger she met on the internet.

In hindsight, it probably wasn't the brightest of moves to pursue talking to a stranger, but she couldn't help that she only felt like herself when she talked to the person behind the 'stranger' in Omegle.

It had been a chanced meeting. Dani had taken a leap of faith and put lesbian in her interests waited for the website to search for a stranger with similar interests. After quite a few strangers whom she realized were deranged fangirls, she finally stumbled upon her. The stranger's message had been simple, 'Call me Snix'. Dani didn't know what possesed her to do so, but she had written out a reply ('Hi Snix. I'm Demi ;)') and the rest, as they say, is history.

It had been perfect. Okay, not really. There had been times when they pissed each other off more than Dani could count, but they always kept coming back to find each other. Snix was sarcastic and snarky as hell, and Dani loved the honest vibe the girl gave. Talking to the stranger was always the highlight of Dani's day.

Well, that was until she read Snix's message for that day.

Stranger: I wanna meet you.

Dani's hearth clammered in her chest. She held her breath as her eyes reread the digital message again and again. She wanted to meet this woman, God knew she did, but she was scared. What if Snix suddenly decided Dani wasn't what she expected? What if Snix laughed at her face and called her out on her insecurities? Or worse, what if Snix was only planning on using her as a rebound for her ex that she had called Ducky?

You: I can't.

Snix's reply had been quick.

Stranger: I want to. I don't want to ask someone to be my girlfriend via the internet.

Her heart caught in her throat. She wanted nothing more than to throw her address out there, find this woman whoever she was, and say yes. But Dani was scared. She was so, so scared.

You: I'm sorry.

You disconnected.

The next day, Dani searched for hours, but Snix never came up.

3 years later...

Dani's life had gone out better than she expected. She got out of her house after her parents caught her making out with a girl. She managed to secure herself a (rather shitty) apartment in New York. She was a student in NYU using her own money after her parents cut her off. Her brother had been nice enough to help, but he wouldn't let their parents find out. He got her the job at Spotlight, and she couldn't have been more thankful.

Because that was where she met the love of her life, and her parents could go fuck themselves.

"Hey, babe," Santana called from somewhere in their newly shared apartment. "Don't kill me okay."

Brown eyes narrowed at the girl's tone and she put down the spoon (she had been stirring cookie dough) and walked over to their bedroom. "What is it?"

Kurt (who was there along with Rachel to help lug Santana's things from their old apartment) peeked out from the closet with a worried look. "Your girlfriend decided to throw her heels in the closet and it hit something." He emerged with hot red stilletos and an old laptop that made Dani's heart start to race.

Santana appeared beside her, a sorry pout on her face. "I'm sorry, babe. If it broke, I'm gonna pay to fix it."

Dani took the dusty laptop and inspected it. "It's fine. It's an old thing." Looking at it, it brought back emotions she didn't think she would feel again. "It was only good for one thing anyway, and I haven't gone to Omegle in years."

"Omegle?" Rachel wondered out loud as she set down a box on the bed. "Didn't Santana once throw a fit in glee club because of this girl she met on Omegle?"

Dani watched as a dark cloud took over the Latina's face. The brunette glared at her two old friends and growled out, "Don't even."

But Rachel paid her no mind. "She was blubbering nonesense. We actually had to get Puck to hold her back after she shouted that she was going to stalk each and every house in the world to find this Demi."

Dani let out a soft, almost inaudible gasp.

Kurt was laughing then, remembering the admittedly terrifying, yet hilarious moment. "Guess someone tamed the Snix, huh?"

Santana rolled her eyes at her friends. She still hadn't gotten over that sting of rejection. She had actually fallen in love with the stranger but... "Shut up. You know the only one who can tame Snix is Da- Babe, shit, why are you crying?"

The blonde was, indeed, crying. She couldn't believe it. She saw everything in a new ligth then. Why didn't she ever notice the similarities between Santana and Snix? She practically threw herself on her girlfriend, sobbing on the Latina's shoulder. Rachel and Kurt watched in shock and confusion as the blonde sobbed uncontrollably on her girlfriend.

"I'm so sorry," Dani kept muttering. "I should have said yes then. I was so scared. I'm so sorry."

Dark eyes widened in surprise. "Holy shi- You're Demi?"

Dani smiled through her sob. "Demi sounded way more awesome than Danielle then."
