Three Months Earlier
~*Hana's P.O.V*~
"Peach flavor, huh?" I mumbled to myself, wondering if that was something Ino would like. Ever since I had become friends with her, I've been trying all sorts of weird, girly stuff. I picked up the bottle to further inspect it, my freshly manicured nails wrapping around the neck. Ino herself seemed to have a nail biting from what I noticed, but I still felt the need to always look my best around her because…well… she was always Ino.
"You want that or what?" A voice growled from behind me. I instantly narrowed my eyes and spun around. A young and handsome but brooding cashier cocked his head ever so slightly to the side and lifted an eyebrow, "Are you deaf? Or are you only impaired when it comes to reading?"
All that came out was a sharp scoff on my part. I was in disbelief. Who did this brat think he was?
"S-sasuke san, t-the manager says you can go on break now." A meek, shorter boy assured, walking in from the back room.
"Fucking finally!" the jerk off at the register exasperated, ripping his apron off and tossing it at the other employee before marching out of the store, not even pretending to grant me a second look.
The shier cashier turned at me slowly and nodded hesitantly, implying he was ready to check out my items. I pursed my lips when I got closer and chuckled a bit, "I'm sure he's employee of the week, huh?" He smiled very sheepishly and read my total aloud.
"Ei-eight hundred," his stutter reminded me of my little brother's friend and all time crush, Hinata Hyuuga, which made me smile—she was a sweet girl.
"Here ya' go… Sasuke?" I squinted while reading the name; it had a gold star pin next to it, which made me assume he was a noted employee.
"Oh…um…"
"Wait!" I smacked myself on the forehead and rolled my eyes, "I'm such a dork! Sasuke was that a-hole that just left. I saw him give you his apron." He didn't respond, just looked down and nodded softly. He had long, unkempt brown hair that dangled over his face. He had acne scars, but he wasn't ugly or anything. "Well, whoever you are, I think you should have a gold star instead," I winked, making his face flush; "Keep the change!" I hollered behind me while stepping out of the convenience store.
Past a flower shop, a Chinese place, and some type of farm, I finally reached the address Ino had sent me. The house was a one floor, Japanese style place with little deer ornaments outside. I read the house plate on the door, "Nara".
The door flung open and before I could respond, Ino tackled me in a hug, almost making me topple over—wine bottle and all!
"Meow!" I was surprised to look down and see a fat cat approaching me and rub his head against my calf.
"This is Moose!" Ino exclaimed cheerfully, lifting the furball up to me, "This is my friend, Hana chan!" I couldn't help but laugh.
"A cat? This is more serious than I thought!" Ino looked a bit taken a back from my statement. "Don't worry! I love all animals! I'm a vet, remember?" I assured, scratching Moose's little head. Ino visibly relaxed and grinned. Has she always liked animals? Maybe just cats? I had never really taken her to be that kind of person. She gave Akamaru his fair share of pets, but I could tell she was very much attached to this critter in particular, continuing to carry him as she led me inside. She shut the door with a swing of her hip, very naturally, like she had done so many times before.
When Moose jumped out of her arms and onto the bed in the room we walked into, I got a good look at her outfit. Ino looked stunning as ever, that's for sure, but I could tell she had put on maybe five pounds. It didn't look bad on her at all, in fact, she filled out those purple daisy dukes better than the other times I had seen her in them, and her black tank top was very flattering on her chest.
"I knew it." Ino's voice snapped my attention up to her shiny, emerald eyes. "Don't even try to deny it, Hana. I know." She looked up and took a breath of air, looking bothered. My heart started pounding. Fuck! I had been too obvious! Staring like a fucking weirdo! I knew not to do that! But I hadn't seen her in a while, so it was like the first time all over again and I— "I've gotten fat!" She wailed, interrupting my thoughts.
"Wha-?"
"Don't!" She held out a hand and laid the back of her other one on her forehead and leaned the top of her body theatrically down unto the mattress, "What they say is true! Love makes you fat!"
My heart sank. My body sank next to her right after, following her example and deflating onto my back.
"Love, huh?" She shot up quickly at my words.
"What? Did I say that?" she chuckled nervously, "I-I, uh I just meant," I sat up and put a hand over her mouth. Her lipgloss was sticky on my palm.
"I know what you mean." I smirked. She turned her head to meet my eyes, my hand still over her lips. Something about that
Was really hot.
~*Ino's P.O.V*~
"Stop!" I squealed, snatching Hana's hand off of me and taking it into mine. I bit down on my lip and looked up at her, "Hana… you're…my friend…right?"
"What!" I gulped. Did she hate me? "Why the hell would I be here if I wasn't?"
"To kill me in place of your brother?" I suggested. She burst into laughter.
"Ino," she shook her head, "This might shock the hell out of you, but I've never seen you as 'girl who bangs my brother'," She assured, I smiled, she teased, "More like, 'girl who bangs my brother but is actually kind of cool' or whatever." I slapped her with a pillow playfully.
"Be forreal. You're not mad?" She shrugged at my question.
"Honestly, I don't know what you saw in Kiba in the first place," she admitted, "Don't get me wrong, I love my little brother and all but…he's kind of a weeee—irdooohh." We both snickered. "Anyways…" Hana changed the subject by pulling out a shiny, pink bottle out of the paper bag in her hands, "Viola!" I gasped, it was so pretty!
"Is that…wine?!"
"Yup. Peach or something. Saw it at the store on my way over here. Never tried it but…" She spun the bottle around, reading the label, "It seems like something you'd like." She was only mid sentence when I was already running back from the kitchen with two glasses. We poured up and clinked glasses and I nearly screamed at the first sip.
"It's sooooo good!" I cried.
"I'm glad you like it," She grinned. I felt so happy seeing her. I had really missed having a girl friend, especially with Sakura never being around, and being scared to talk to Hana. I wrapped my arms around her neck.
"I missed you! I'm so glad you still want to hang out with me!"
"Duh! You're awesome!" She hugged me back and then we went back to our drinks. We chatted for a bit until I realized that I had been talking about Shikamaru non-stop.
"Oh my god. I'm sorry. I keep talking about my lame-o…" I paused. Boyfriend? Was he my boyfriend?
"Oh, Ino…" Hana rolled her eyes, "It's been like, forever, and you didn't want to tell me about him before cuz of my brother…I really don't mind. I was curious on who got you all giddy." I could feel myself blush, so I poured myself another glass and then noticing she was almost done with her second one, too, did the same for her.
"Hana," I giggled, the bubbles in my drink tickling my nose, "How come you never talk about boys?" Her face went bright red! I squinted at her suspiciously. "Oh, I know." Now she went pale. I wagged a finer at her and tried to talk without laughing—I think I was a bit tipsy at that point. "You only like Suna guys, huh? That's why you go to school there!" My voice pitch rose the further I got into my exclamation. I laid on the bed. "What do you like about them? I have no clue what your type is…"
"Well…" She was mid-sentence when the front door unlocked.
~*Shikamaru's P.O.V*~
Ten feet from the door and I could already hear all the giggling and Ino's nonsensical squealing. She's so troublesome, but I couldn't help smiling. I liked coming home to her, even when she was being loud and didn't let me sleep.
"I know that voice…" Chouji chuckled, looking over to me. I was with him, five bags of Chinese food, and a twelve pack anyways, so I figured there would be no chance of a nap regardless. I was in the middle of unlocking the door when it swung open and Ino lept onto me and Chouji, choking us with her affection. I could smell alcohol on her. "Starting the party without us?" Chouji asked, lifting the bags of food and motioning towards the other bags and the pack in my hands.
"Noo! No Chinese for me!" She made a big X with her arms. This again. I thought she got over her weird dieting thing, but maybe because she hadn't seen Chouji or her friend for a while she had to act like she was still like that.
Had we been spending that much time alone together?
We made our way into my room and there was a girl there. She looked familiar to me but I couldn't quite remember from where. Sometimes all girls looked the same to me, except Ino.
"Hana! This:" She put one hand on her hip and used the other to point dramatically at my face, "Is Shikamaru. And this is Chouji. Boys," She jumped into the poor girl's lap and put her arm around her, "Is Hana." The girl looked embarrassed as hell. But how could I blame her. I nodded at her and sat down with them and so did Chouji. Ino left to the kitchen and Chouji started unwrapping the food. I took out some of the beers and realized I needed an opener.
"I'll be right back," I said more to Hana than Chouji, considering he was already more interested in his lo mein. I guess I walked in at the right moment because Ino was bent over, her ass cheeks spilling out of her tiny shorts. Moose was on the counter next to her, staring at me. Since when does he follow her around more than me? Did he like her, too? Ino turned around.
"Enjoying the view?" She smirked flirtatiously, bending over slowly again but looking back at me this time. She always did this when we were around people. I swear even before anything ever happened between us she was always teasing me. The only upside was that now I could actually do something about it. I walked towards her and squeezed her butt. She giggled, straightening her back and turning slightly to kiss me. She had two glasses and handed me one before leading the way back into my room. I tried not to stare at her ass on the way there, because I was already fighting awkward public boner.
"Where is it?" Hana asked. Ino placed a cup in front of Chouji.
"Huh?" I was confused, sitting down.
"Someone got distracted," Hana made eye contact with Ino and they gave that troublesome look girls give each other when they're up to something, "its fine I have one." She pulled out a bottle opener from her vest pocket.
Shit! I totally forget what I had gone into the kitchen for in the first place.
"This is pretty cool." Chouji noticed, looking at the opener. The sharp part that opened was in shape of a thorn, since the whole thing was a little metal rose. "It matches your arm." He blushed a little, pointing out the tattoo on her.
"Yeah, I like roses!" Hana glanced at Ino again, "That's the first thing Ino noticed on me, too!" Chouji gave her a dorky smile. Oh man. I don't know when he took a break from stuffing his face, but I could tell it was long enough to check her out. Looks like he was into her.
Turns out that Hana girl was pretty cool. She wasn't the usual troublesome chick, she was kind of a tomboy. I noticed Chouji's usually into kind of tough, cool girls, so I knew he liked her more by the mili second. That's why I was so surprised when her phone pinged and I realized who she was.
"What an idiot! He lost his bottle opener and now he's whining that I took mine! He's probably drinking by himself at my apartment anyways. Or worse, with some random…" She paused and peeked at Ino and just made an annoyed face while typing instead of finishing her sentence.
"Boyfriend..?" Chouji asked. I could hear the disappointment in his voice. Tough luck, buddy.
"What? Gross! No, just my annoying little brother!" I could see Chouji's face light up and so did her phone as it started vibrating. She quickly answered it, "What?!" She exasperated, "Use a knife or something! Or a lighter… I don't know, look it up on Youtube or something! I'm with my friends and I'm drunk, too!" She paused again and looked at me for a brief second. "I told you. Ino… Why would I have been joking about that… Yes, the deer guy…Yeah, they are actually…I'm serious!"
By this point, I had totally blanked for half of her angry responses. I caught myself staring at Ino's thighs. They were looking fuller than usual…all of her was…it was making her even more irresistible than usual…it felt good when I squeezed her in my hands…
"Come to the kitchen with me." Ino commanded to Hana and they both stood up. There goes my view.
"Shikamaru!" Chouji whispered frantically when they were gone, "That girl!"
"You like her?"
"Do I?!" He took a breath, "Did you see how she wolfed down those egg rolls? And the tattoos! Man!" His fangirling came to an abrupt end when the girls walked back into the room. They were quieter than usual, but that didn't surprise me considering they probably just did some mega gossiping in the kitchen. I wasn't the least bit curious, though. I don't care about troublesome girl things like that.
~*Ino's P.O.V*~
I thought I was having the best night ever when Hana texted me from across the room.
Kiba's on the way! -Hana chan 3
Once I got her in the kitchen I nearly killed her before she could even explain.
"I told him before coming here that I was coming to Shikamaru's house…that you two…"
"What?! And he's still coming?!" I was ready to flip.
"I guess he didn't get what I meant. Just now on the phone he was all 'Well it's not like its her boyfriend or soemthing'!" She mimicked him in an exaggerated voice, "When I told him it was like that, he laughed! He laughed, Ino! And said 'I'll see about that!' and said he's coming over!"
I felt my face get hot with anger. "What is that supposed to mean? What's wrong with me being with Shikamaru?!"
"N-nothing!" Hana snapped back defensively. "He's great, he's cute! Kiba's just a jerk! And he's probably salty you haven't hit him u for somebody else! He's just talking shit!"
"Arrrgghh!" I groaned, sticking my thumbnail into my mouth, "What do I do?! Tell him not to come!" I begged.
"No! He's so stubborn, Ino, that'll make it worse! Trust me, you…let's see…just act normal! He won't do anything in front of Shikamaru if you're all over him first! Trust me! He's way too pussy."
I paused. Maybe she was right. But I was still nervous.
"What if Shikamaru notices…something's…up..?"
"He won't," Hana reassured, gripping my shoulders, "Just be cool. Guys are dense."
I relaxed a bit and gave her a quick hug. I wish she was really my big sister instead of Kiba's!
Heart still racing, we walked back into the room. Shikamaru looked at me right away, and I tried not to freak out right then and there. I sat down slowly as naturally as I possibly could and tried to ease back into conversation but now Chouji was acting weird, too. Dammit! What if he figured something out?!
Well, hey! It's been a while, huh?!
Years, to be precise. Yes, it's me, kakkoi-ne risen from the dead!
Fanfiction had been on my mind for a while now, and I recently went over this story and My Dirty Secret in its entirety and found myself getting angry (AT MYSELF) for not completing the story! It has been so long I felt like I was reading someone else's writing, but I got to admit (and I hate to toot my own horn), it was nowhere as cringe worthy as I thought it would be! Actually, I'm kind of nervous publishing this, because I don't know if it lives up to the rest of my work!
I haven't written in a long time at all. A lot in my life has changed and I've been through all sorts of roller coasters. When I was first writing these stories, I was 18! Now I'm turning 22 next months (yikes)!
Anyways, I hope I'll still have followers on this story somehow. And as an apology I made this chapter extra-long! I hope to write tomorrow! The only reason, in fact, I don't keep writing right now is because I have to be up in a few hours for school! I didn't even finish my homework because I needed to work on my fanfiction!
And yes, the sequel to this (His Good Girl, My Dirt Secret) will also be updated in the very near future. I love you guys!
