Chapter 9
Normal POV
"Mom, did you take my black boots again!" Lucy yelled from her room running late for school...again.
"Why, I have no idea what your talking about," Came the not so convincing respond from the kitchen. The irritated blonde marched down the spiral staircase and made her way to the kitchen.
When she got there, her mother made an attempt to hide her feet under the kitchen table but failed. "Mommmm," Lucy whined. "I told you to stop stealing my stuff," She said with a pout.
"But honey, there sooo comfortable~" Her mother gushed.
"Come on mom I don't have time for this, Natsu's picking me up any minute and were running late," she said losing her patience.
"Wear one of your other shoes," her mother replied hugging the boots close to her chest.
"Those are my favorite!" Her mother only stuck her tongue out in a childish manor and got up to leave. But before she could take another step, Lucy pounced on her and tried to pry the boots out of her hands.
Both were too distracted to hear the front door open.
"Lucy Heartfilia you get of me this instant!" Her mother tried to say in a strict voice but giggled when the other blond started tickling her. When she lost her grip Lucy quickly grabbed the boots and slipped them on.
She tried to run towards her room to get her bag but didn't make it far before her childish mother grabbed her leg, and held on for dear life.
"Mom stop acting so childish!" Lucy screeched, shaking her leg, trying to get the 39-year-old woman off her.
While the mother and daughter bickered back and forth, they were suddenly interrupted by a low chuckle. They both whipped their heads in the direction of the noise and found a tall salmon-haired boy leaning again the door frame with an amused smile on his face.
Natsu POV
"I finally managed to get out of there with my boots on," Lucy said with a victorious smile on her face as we walking hand-in-hand to school.
"Yeah but I gotta admit, it was pretty funny watching you and your mom argue about a pair of boots," I said chuckling.
"There not just some pair of boots, their my favorite pair of boots," She huffed.
"Whatever," I replied, rolling my eyes playfully.
"Hey, Natsu?"
"Hmm?"
"I never seen you take off that scarf I gave you for Christmas," Lucy said in a soft voice, her checks a scarlet red. I blushed too and tried to hide it in the said scarf.
"W-well it's just that, y-you gave it to me so it's means a lot, and I only take it off when I w-wash it."
Curse my stutter...
Lucy giggled softly and placed a soft kiss on my check.
"Your so cute when your embarrassed."
Lucy's POV
"Good morning, Lu-chan!" Exclaimed my blue-haired best friend. She made her way towards me, a bubbly atmosphere surrounding her.
"Morning, Levy-chan." I replied as she sat next to me.
"Where is everyone?" She asked, looking around the empty lunch table, usually occupied by our destructive friends.
"I'm not sure, they should be here by now, but anyway...what happened?!" I asked excitedly.
"W-what do you mean?" She asked, startled by my outburst.
"Don't play dumb with me, Levy-chan" I scoffed, "something happened. Your practically glowing today!"
"Okay, okay you caught me," she said with a sign.
"Gajeel and I went on a date yesterday."
Processing...
"Oh my gosh Levy-chan! It's about time Gajeel grew some balls and asked you out!"
"Lu-chan!" Levy exclaimed, covering her red face with her small hands.
"So what happened? Did you kiss? Are you guys dating? Is there gonna be little Gajeel and Levy's running around soon?"
"Lucy!"
"What? I'm just curious." Levy signed deeply, running her finger through her blue-hair.
"Well, he took me to a restaurant—a really fancy and expensive one—then we went to the movies, then he walked me home."
"That's it?"
"That's it."
"Oh," I said with a bored expression on my face. Levy giggled, "what were you expecting?"
I shrugged my shoulders."Somewhere along the lines, 'oh Lu-chan it was so romantic! He confessed his undying love for me and we agreed that we were gonna have 50 babies together!'" I said in a high-pitched voice. Levy scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest, and mumbled, " I don't talk like that."
I giggled and patted the top of her head lightly, "Just kidding, Levy-chan."
"Hey guys!" Erza said walking into the cafeteria, dragging two bruised boys in tow, the rest of the group following.
I sweat-dropped as Erza plopped Natsu on the other side of me and Gray across, before sitting down herself.
"What took you guys so long?" I asked—even though I already knew the answer.
"These two idiots," Erza said indicating to Natsu and Gray, " were fighting over a seat."
"A seat?"
"Yup."
I looked towards Natsu. "Why were you guys fighting over a seat?"
20 minutes ago...
Natsu's POV
I walked into class and made my way towards my seat, only for it to be taken by a squinty-eyed stripper.
"Hey, stripper. Your in my seat," I said interrupting his conversation with Loki.
"Does it have your name on it?" He asked sarcastically, with a smug smile.
"It will be written in your blood if you don't GET THE FUCK UP!" I growled and launched at him, knocking him out of the chair in the process.
I was just about to land a punch on his face when, we were forcibly ripped apart.
"ARE YOU TWO FIGHTING?!"
I gave them both a sympathetic smile—I had a good idea of what happened after that.
"Oh, I was wondering if you guys wanted to come over my house tonight. Maybe we could do karaoke or something?" I asked.
"Sounds like fun."
"Sure, I'm in"
"Me too!"
"Me three!"
"Count me in."
"Juvia will go too!"
"Mind if I come?"
I turned around and my jaw nearly touched the ground as I found the source of the voice.
"L-Lisanna?!"
I silently cursed my friends for purposely leaving me and Lisanna alone to talk out our "problems." We both sat across from each other at one of the tables in my entertainment room, the rest of the group was near the mini stage I had where the karaoke machine was located. I usually used that stage for practice.
We sat in an uncomfortable silence, the only noise coming from Gajeel singing one of his original songs. Lisanna was the first to break the silence."You have a really nice house, Lucy," She said with a small smile. "Thanks..."
There's that awkward silence again...
"Look, Lucy, I'm really sorry. I was out of line before, you and Natsu are actually a really cute couple and your an amazing singer and I—"
"It's fine Lisanna, I was never one to hold grudges and your actually an amazing singer yourself."
"Really?"
"Really. How about instead of singing against each other, we sing with each other."
"I'd really like that," she said with a genuine smile. I chuckled and motioned for her to follow me. We walked towards the karaoke machine and I asked her what we should sing. She whispered the song in my ear and I put it on. We hopped onto the stage and the group looked at us curiously.
"I think that's enough, Gajeel."
"What! No way, bunny girl, I just started!" I glared at him and he nervously got off the stage. The intro music started and I winked in Lisanna's direction while tossing her the second microphone.

"That was great Lisanna!" I said as I gave her a hug. Lisanna returned the hug and smiled brightly, "maybe we could do it again sometime?"
"I would love to."
"So I guess you two are cool now," Natsu said with a grin.
"Yeah, we're cool." Lisanna smiled then walked off towards the rest of the group.
"So, Lucy, sometimes you wanna slap me in my face?" He asked with a small pout. I gave him a 'what the hell are you talking about?' Look, then I remembered that it said that in the beginning of the song.
"Yeah, but that's okay because no one else can break my heart like you."
