Epilogue

"So, what do you say?"

Sasuke blinked. He didn't hear a word the girl next to him said.

"I wasn't paying attention, what did you say?"

She sighed. "You sure doze off a lot these days, Sasuke. I was asking if you want to go in town tonight, drink something maybe.."

"Sorry Karin, I can't." He cut her off shortly.

"Come on, I know you keep telling the other girls you already have a lover so you could get rid of them but I'm your friend Sasuke, you can't get rid of me with this lie." She insisted, crossing her arms.

"I'm not lying and since you are my friend, you should know best."

"Sasuke!" Another voice called from behind, making the other two turn around.

"Hinata, just the right person!" Karin exclaimed as the dark-haired girl reached their side. "Tell me, is it true this guy has a girlfriend? I can't believe what he says."

Hinata looked puzzled at Karin for a moment, but then she smiled brightly and nodded.

"Yes, he's already taken Karin-san."

Karin sighed. "Fine, I give up. I'm going to drink with the others in our class."

Hinata waved goodbye.

"Bye." Sasuke said.

"Yeah, bye.." Karin replied and left the college grounds.

"Why were you in such a hurry, Hinata?" Sasuke asked.

"Oh, that's.." She blushed and looked at her arms, just as she used to do in high school. "Uhm.. I—"

"Hinata-chan, teme!" Naruto came yelling. "Did you tell him Hinata-chan? Co gratulate us already teme, you have no manners!"

"N-Naruto-kun, I didn't—"

"Congratulate you for what?" Sasuke asked puzzled.

"We're getting married!" Naruto yelled, making other heads turn towards them as well.

Sasuke looked at them with his eyes widened. He hasn't heard such good news for a while.

"Hinata," Sasuke said serious, looking at the blushing girl. "Good luck. If you need help with this idiot, you can call me anytime."

"What do you mean teme?!" Naruto protested.

The dark-haired boy smiled. "Congratulations."

"Shall we go to a café? We didn't go out for a while." Hinata suggested.

"It would be great!" Naruto said.

"Sure." Sasuke agreed as well.

They went to a café all of the liked next to the campus.

"The wedding's next month!" Naruto continued, putting his arm on Hinata's waist.

Sasuke was happy. He really was, but somewhere inside him, he was sad. How he wished to see her.

"We send Sakura an invitation too." Hinata said, making him raise his head.

"Hinata-chan, that was supposed to be a surprise!" Naruto protested.

"I-I'm sorry but.. Sasuke looked really sad just now. Though, she didn't send a reply. We don't know if she'll come.."

"I see." Sasuke replied.

There have been various occasions she could have visited, but she never did. She never said she will but somewhere inside, he really hoped she will one day show up at his door.

It's been three years, after all.

"Is she well?" He asked Hinata.

"Yes." She replied. "I'm sorry I can't tell you anything Sasuke, she asked me to.."

"It's fine, I'll just have to make her regret for not saying a word for three years when she comes back." Sasuke said.

"Oi, oi, she did send you letters on your birthdays and Christmas." Naruto scolded him.

Hinata and Naruto have talked with Sakura occasionally, but not even they could talk very much with her. As for himself, Sasuke couldn't talk a word with her. But he accepted all of it and waited for her. He promised he will wait and he will keep his promise.

"Anyway, what are you going to do after college dobe? Did you decide?"

"Yeah, I'll try architecture. I already got a letter from a company that saw my college profile." He replied. "Did you decide what kind of doctor you want to become, Hinata?"

The girl nodded. "Yes, a veterinary. I'll have to go a college that is specialized and study for two more years."

"I'm glad you decided." Sasuke said.

"I'm going to be a teacher!" Naruto suddenly said.

Sasuke and Hinata both stared at him, their mouths open.

Naruto was blushing, obviously embarrassed. "I said it, I finally said it.." He whispered.

"It's great!" Hinata said enthusiastically.

Sasuke was torn between laughing and congratulating him, but seeing how much courage it took him, he decided to act more like an adult.

"You finally decided what you want to do with your life." He said, making Naruto look at him surprised.

Hinata hugged her boyfriend, proud.

"A-Aren't you gonna laugh?" The blonde asked.

"I was just about to, but I decided to play the adult. Though now looking at your face, I don't know if I can hold it back very long." Sasuke said smiling.

"Bastard!" Naruto said and the three of them laughed.

Naruto and Hinata decided to hold the ceremony near a lake. The two were looking at each other as the priest said the speech.

He looked around for an hour and there was no sign of her. Everyone was already there.

"Uzumaki Naruto, do you take Hyuuga Hinata to be your wife?"

"I do."

"Hyuuga Hinata, do you take Uzumaki Naruto to be your husband?"

"I do."

An hour later, the party was on. It was held next to the lake too, under the night sky.

Just as he turned around, he saw a familiar silhouette.

'It's.. Could it be?'

He followed the person that headed out of the crowd. He was walking faster than her but she was avoiding him skillfully. He could see her hair color-pink.

He rushed then and, as if she saw him, she begun running. He ran until she arrived in a white pavilion. There was no one around and she was with her back at him.

"How persistent." She said as Sasuke stopped at the bottom of the stairs that led to the pavilion.

He was sure now, her voice didn't change a bit.

"How unmannered." He replied, smirking. "A lady shouldn't speak with someone showing them their back."

"A gentleman shouldn't follow a lady around. Don't you have a lover?"

"I do. She's the craziest person I've ever met."

She giggled and finally turned around.

He couldn't believe how beautiful he was.

"I wonder what she would say if she knew you're with another woman." She smiled, making him lose his breath.

"I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I ask such a beautiful woman for a dance." He replied, bowing and asking for her hand.

"I wouldn't be so sure, but it's your risk." She said, putting her hand in his.

As soon as he touched her hand, he stepped forward and grabbed her waist. He hugged her tight, holding her up.

"You're crazy." He whispered, caressing her long hair.

"You're obsessed." She replied. When they looked at each other, she was crying. "You waited for me.. all these years.."

"Maybe I really am obsessed." He smiled. "I missed you so much."

She smiled brightly. "Who wouldn't miss this?" She asked, looking at herself.

"Way to ruin the mood." He replied gloomy.

She then laughed and kissed him. He kissed her back, moving his arms up and down her back, making sure she was real.

"You're really here, aren't you?" He asked.

"And I'm never gonna leave again."
