There was sunshine. A bright, open field with flowers and pollen. It smelled like grass. You knew this place. You used to come here for picnics and nature hikes when you were really little.

There was a figure in a plain looking, white dress standing not twenty feet away from you in the tall, waving grass. Her back was to you and her head was tilted back, face towards the light.

Your muscles felt stiff and unused so you shifted your weight from one leg to the other.

You called out warily to get her attention "Hello?" she turned.

The breeze stopped.

The fair haired women laughed and she spun around to face you, her arms opened to embrace you,"(Y/n)!"

"Mom!" you choked, tears running down your face. You stumbled into the clearing shakily. Nearly falling on your face before you could reach her. "Momma!"

She laughed again as she caught you and pulled you close. "My darling girl! My darling, baby girl. How are you?"

"Does it matter?" you laughed as you cried, pulling back only slightly to look at her face. Her beautiful face. She looked you over quickly, her smile tapering sadly as she did.

"I'm afraid that it does. You're here quiet a bit earlier than expected. Too early… What on earth happened? Look at you.."

"What? There's nothing wrong with me.." At the same time the words left your mouth, you knew they weren't true. A spasm of pain ripped through your chest. Flinching, you looked down at your ripped, bloodstained shirt and your mud soaked shoes.

Your grip on her arm tightened as you reached up to run your opposite hand through your matted, tangled hair. "…What happened? What's wrong with me? I'm not... dead? Am I?"

Soft hands came up to cup your face shakily and terrified eyes looked into yours. "Not yet. (Y/n) you have to go back."

"Wait, mom I don't understand… " She shook her head and her grip tightened.

"You don't belong here, you need to go BACK!"

"Mom! Go back where?! Where am I? I'm not dead!"

The gold sunlight began to leak and fade to gray. The air traded the smell of summer grass to dank, musty water. The breeze stopped and turned suffocatingly warm. Tears flowed freely from your mother's eyes making them watery and red. "I love you. I always have and I always will. I'll be waiting for you when you're ready, okay? Don't lose hope."

She pulled away, melting away into the disappearing meadow and your exhausted legs gave out from under you. "MOM!" you screamed as tears poured down your face. "WAIT! PLEASE!"

"He's coming for you. I promise. Don't lose hope."

*GASP* your eyes flew open as you woke up to see… nothing. It was dark. Really dark.

Frantically struggling to sit up, itchy material around your wrists pinched and threatened to stop circulation to your hands before you could move too much. Stale air refused to enter your lungs fast enough to stop hyperventilation. Your shaking hands smeared tears from your face as you pulled yourself together into a compact ball. "Jesus." Resting your head on your knees, you brought your breathing back under control. "What the hell was that?" No answer. Which wasn't all that surprising…

Racking through your memories, you found you could remember riding in a car with Gilbert, Antonio's dark yet loud house, Alfred being… not Alfred. And getting grabbed and apparently drugged. Fuck. You shivered, realizing you had no idea who had you or why they had taken you in the first place. This was not good. Inhaling deeply, you tried to start making a plan of action. Hopefully someone would come let you out of this.. place you were tied in soon so that you could make a break for it. But as of right now, you had no idea when that might happen.

So you would just have to wait.
