Well I decided to fix up the grammar mistakes and rewrite this story to make it even better. Enjoy and don't forget to review and favourite if you liked it. •3•

It's been two years since Lu-chan and Natsu died. The S-Class duo often left their daughter, Nashi, with myself and my husband, Gajeel, when they went out on a mission. I've always wanted kids but I'm not able to have any children of my own. It was tough for me to accept that, but Gajeel was there for me and we got through it together.

Nashi is such a sweet heart and she never whined or fussed when I watched her. It seemed that she's inherited her mother's love of books. During the countless times that I watched over Nashi, we would sit in my library and enter the magical world that each book had to offer. I was running out of books to read to her that she hadn't heard before! I remember the day when Lu-chan came up to me at the guild to announce that she and Natsu were leaving on their mission.

"Hey, Levy-chan, Natsu and I are going on another mission tomorrow. Could you watch Nashi again for us? Natsu thinks we'll be done before six but it'll probablly take a few days.."

I laughed.

"The day will never come when I say 'no' to that question. Gajeel loves having her around!"

She smiled and my heart almost melted. Lu-chan was always so full of love for her family and friends. It was like she brought happiness into the world with just a single smile.

"Don't do anything stupid. Promise me that you two will come home safe and sound!"

"I promise. We''ll be back soon Levy-chan!"

If only I had stopped them that day. Now they were just a memory but they would never be forgotten. When they died, Gajeel tried to act all tough and manly but I know that Natsu's death affected him more than he let on.

"That brat still had to fight me. He probably thought that death would hide him from me."

We both miss him. I can see a lot of his sense of adventure in Nashi. She's only seven but she loves to go with Gajeel and Lily on their training sessions up in the mountains. They always come home with Gajeel carrying her on his shoulders with that rare smile of his that I love so much.

"Next time I'll definitely climb higher than you for sure!"

Nashi giggled.

"But you're too big to climb to the top of the tree!"

No matter how many times I ask Gajeel, he never tells me what they do up there. I've tried asking Nashi but she only smiles and shakes her head.

"It's a secret."

What I treasure the most about having Nashi in my family is that she's still innocent and her brown eyes sparkle with curiosity and wonder. I'm still trying to move on after my friend's deaths but sweet little Nashi is handling the death of her parents better than I am.

"Do you miss them a lot?"

She nods as I rub my hand through her pink hair.

"Sometimes. But I think that they're happy I'm with you and Uncle Gajeel."

"Well I know that we're happy with you."

She giggles a bit and I say goodnight to her. As soon as I close the bedroom door behind me, I start crying. A couple minutes layer, Gajeel finds me sitting in the hallway with my face in my hands and has to carry me to bed. She's been through so much at such a young age.

I thank God every night for blessing me with a loving husband and caring father like Gajeel. He could have packed his bags and left us to fend for ourselves but instead, he puts all of his time and effort into raising Nashi. Although I wish things didn't happen the way they did, I know that Nashi was always meant to be a part of this family.

Lu-chan, you should be so proud of your baby girl. She's going to do great things, I can tell. Nashi has the heart of a dragon that will allow her to withstand the storms that are coming her way in. After all, she's the daughter of a dragon slayer and a Heartfilia.

Nashi's destined to be a fighter.
