Here's a recap of what happened so far. If you remember it already then feel free to skip this part.

Rin fakes his death to go on an undercover mission and comes back as a student named Tyler Evergroth.

.

The others don't trust him and start looking into things. They find evidence that lead them to believe that Tyler killed Rin. Meanwhile Rin is approached by someone part of an underground organization.

.

Bon confronts Tyler and ends up getting knocked out. He is then brought underground to test Tyler to see if Tyler can join their group. Tyler fakes Bon's death and get into the organization. Then everything is explained to Bon.

Shiemi is attacked by a demon and is sent to the infirmary.

.

Izumo stays behind with her while the boys go off to class. Then Bon, who is wearing an identity changing amulet comes and saves Izumo and Shiemi from some demons.

.

Rin is told by the organization to kidnap his brother. Meanwhile the others track down Bon and learns his secret. Then they see Rin kidnap Yukio.

.

The group gets a map and goes after Rin and Yukio. They discover Rin's secret at the same time the organization does. They are thrown in prison where they find Yukio.

.

They all escape and save Rin but the demon core was damaged in the process…

"That's not good," I gasped, jumping to my feet. "We need to get out of here!"

"What, why?" Shiemi asked, frightened.

"Rin must have damaged it too much," I said. "It's going to explode!"

Rin's POV

.

The demon core was spinning faster and faster. I glanced up at it nervously and then looked at my brother.

"Okay, where's the exit?" I asked him.

"It should be over there, but it was destroyed," Renzo said worriedly, pointing to a pile of rubble. The Demon core started making high pitch whistling sounds.

"What do we do?" Shiemi asked nervously.

"There's got to be a way out of here," I thought desperately. Suddenly, it dawned on me.

"The trash shoot!" I exclaimed. The others looked over at me.

"What?" Yukio asked annoyed.

"There is a trash shoot over there," I said, pointing to the side of the arena. "They use it to throw down corpses of the victims they kill." My brother went over to where I was pointing and pulled opened the grate.

"Okay, we need to go down there," He said. "Anything else we should know?"

"Not really, other than it smells horrible down there, and it's gross," I said. "Just hold your nose and try not to think about what you're stepping on."

"It sounds like you've been down there before," Renzo commented

"I had to fish Bon out of there after I 'killed' him," I said.

"You put me down there?" Bon asked in dismay.

"We don't have time for this!" Yukio yelled. "Move it now!" Everyone quickly went over to him. Shiemi and Izumo went down first followed by Konekomaru, Renzo and Bon.

"Ok Rin you're next." Yukio said. I took a step forward when there was a cracking sound. Yukio looked up and paled.

"Get down!" he yelled and jumped forward, pushing us down to the ground. The room was full of red light followed by a loud explosion. I felt myself get blown backwards and I hit something hard. My vison blurred as I toppled over. The world started getting darker and darker until it all went black.

Meanwhile…

Konekomaru POV

.

I slid down the shoot and fell into a pit. A few seconds later I landed on something squishy. It was too dark to see much except for a little light coming from a doorway up ahead. I staggered to my feet. Then the smell hit me.

"It reeks down here," I heard Renzo mutter. I gagged and covered my mouth.

"Don't look down," Izumo commanded weakly. Suddenly the ground shook and we all fell over.

"What was that?" I heard Shiemi ask worriedly. There was a clattering sound, and Bon came out of the shoot. He hit the ground and fell over.

"Hey are you alright?" I asked, running over. As I got closer, I could see that his arm was hurt.

"It…exploded." Bon said through clenched teeth. Shiemi tore a strip of cloth off her shirt and tied it around his arm.

"Where's Rin and Yukio?" Shiemi asked. Bon looked back and paled

"They didn't make it through…" Izumo muttered.

"No," I said backing up, "No, no this isn't happening! Not again… not for real. Please tell me that this is part of a plan!" No one answered. I fell to my knees. The room was silent for a few moments.

"We need to get out of here," Bon finally said. "We can't stay here. If there is any chance at all that they survived, we are wasting time doing nothing. We need to see if we can do anything to save them." Everyone murmured in agreement. I got up and started staggering towards the door. After what felt like forever, we managed to make it into the hallway.

"Which way do we go?" I asked as we looked around. No one answered.

"Someone has to know the way, right?" Shiemi said worriedly.

"We were following the map," Izumo said tiredly. "And it was left in the cells when we escaped."

"So…what do we do now?" Renzo asked.

"You sit back and relax," A voice said from behind us. We turned to see Mephisto standing there with a smile on his face.

"Wh-what are you doing here?" I stuttered.

"You seemed to be in a bind and in need of some assistance," He said taking off his hat and bowing.

"Where were you earlier?" Bon growled.

"Sadly, I couldn't come down here due to some barriers set up. So regrettably, I had to send you down instead," He said, smiling, looking anything but sorry. "But enough about that! You need medical attention." He snapped his fingers and some exorcists came over to us. Mephisto turned and started sauntering off.

"Wait!" Shiemi cried, "What about Rin and Yuki?"

"Don't worry, miss," One of the exorcists said. "We're digging them out now as we speak." I felt a wave of relief come over me, followed by a wave of tiredness.

"It's over," I muttered. "It's finally over."

Yukio's POV

.

"Get down!" I yelled and jumped forward pushing Rin down to the ground. The room was full of red light followed by a loud explosion. Something smacked against my head and the world went black.

When I woke up, the first thing I noticed was how sore I was. I groaned and tried to move. A wave of pain hit me, and I hissed.

"Don't move dear," came a voice next to me. I recognized it as the school nurse.

"Hey, is Yukio awake?!" I heard Rin say excitedly, followed by the sound of movement.

"Please, stay in your bed," The nurse said worriedly. "You'll hurt yourself." My brother ignored her.

"Hey, are you awake?" I heard him say from next to me. I forced open my eyes and found my brother hovering over me, looking worried.

"I'm alright," I said groggily. Rin sighed with relief.

"How long was I out?" he asked.

"A couple of weeks," Rin said. "Or so I've been told. I only just got up a couple of days ago."

"I see," I said, looking around for my glasses. Rin noticed this, picked them up, and jammed them on my face.

"Ow," I grumbled, "looks like your strength has returned."

"Sorry," Rin muttered sheepishly.

"Please, go back to your bed," The nurse said to my brother. "You're not fully healed yet."

"Yeah, yeah," Rin muttered and limped back to his bed. He flopped down sighing. "I hate just lying around."

"Look at the bright side," I said yawning. "At least it's over." I snuggled back into the blankets and closed my eyes. When we get discharged from the infirmary we would be finally free from this mission. I'll never agree to something like that again... ever.
