Angel of Night~

I stand on the brink,

To love is to sin?

I feel I might sink,

I hide in my skin,

All the king's horses and all the kings men,

Can never put us back together again,

You came to the edge,

You were standing tall,

No sign you might falter,

But I watched you fall,

Now all the king's horses and all the kings men,

Turned back from the battle,

To turn us in,

You told me there were no heroes,

Or atleast you weren't one,

But you told me I was and that I was,

The light of your Sun,

You said you served angels,

But you weren't the same,

You said you wouldn't play this game,

Now all of the papers, are printing your shame,

And I stand in silence, my lips are like stone,

I am standing in silence ,alone,

I feel my heart beating ,my blood flowing free,

I know not you fell from the heavens for me,

But my heart is still screaming its agony,

And all the letters in my blood spell your name,

I feel as though I am clothed in flame,

I cry, as my blood whispers your name,

Grief is the price we have to pay,

To love is to give your heart away,

And I find that,if I were the Day,

Then you were my Night in everyway,

And you were an angel, but not of the like,

Of all the heavenly angels ,swathed all in white,

You were the angel, the Angel of Night!

You were the Darkness, that gives me rest,

Yours was the music of sleep,

But it seems now you string your bow along,

The strands of my hair spell out your song,

It swarms around my head in my bed as I lie,

Praying to God, "Oh God let me die"

Gone is the angel, the giver of breath,

Gone is the angel, the Angel of Death!

I heard tell that God shaped the world,

Out of the darkness he called the Light,

When, I began, I came from the Night,

Out of your souls last breath, there drew my flame,

When God gave me life, He whispered your name.

Why am I the Light, or why do I see?

You leap from the sky to set me free,

You crash to the earth, in your own ruined heap,

What kind've love could make a man leap?

Were you trying to jump over the moon?

Did you know that the sky would fall?

Were you simply abandoning ship?

Did you hear me call?

Abandon the sky now, Angel of Night,

Swim through thin air, I see,

And I can tell those who come after me,

I saw him, a Phoenix in Flight!

I called him brother, the Angel of Night!

I saw him as he fell from the heavens, I watched,

I saw him like stars when they bleed,

Swift speed, I watched him, but floating like snow,

Weightless as evening, he fell on the earth,

He cast forth his twilight red,

Over the sidewalk he bled,

I saw him fall from grace,

I saw him fall on his face, at God's feet,

I heard the heavens, God started to weep,

There he was lying, before me, asleep,

The kingdoms are ancient, their gods are fierce,

But men are more cruel than they,

Tounges wll be lashing, like swords they will pierce,

It will not end today,

On goes the talking, on goes the song,

They'll call you a devil, but they are all wrong,

You were the Angel, all along

Some are heroes robed in white,

Some are kings in crowns of gold,

Still some are shadows, who wield sight,

Who wield silence, their stories not told,

I may never know the reason, p'raps it will suffice,

Why-ever you did it ,I know ,

In some way sacrifice,

I know that it was although,

I truly wish you didn't have to go,

I stand on the brink of Oblivion,

All the kings horses and all the kings men,

Will never put us together again...
