Hello and welcome to Pride of Portree, the "gold star" of the QLFC!

My name is Oni and I'm the captain for Pride this season. I have two years of experience with the QLFC, and have been writing for over two decades (yes, that's right, over twenty years). I'm a married working mom of two with an eye for detail. I can be a bit stern about getting assignments in on time, but I will also make digital cookies and emotionally support anyone who needs it. I live on the west coast of the US, so I keep odd hours compared to many of you who live due east, but I also strive to be available at a variety of times during the day and night so that no matter where you may live in the world, I can still answer your questions and help out with drafts.

Though I know that the QLFC is meant to be a fun competition (which it should be), I would like to lay out a couple of rules/ guidelines for how I run things so that you can decide if Pride is the best team for you!

Pride Rules

1. Before you sign up, please really think about the time that you will need to devote to the QLFC. Life can be busy and crazy- I get it. However, this is almost a year-long commitment. I would like you to ensure that, if you have to quit for whatever reason, that you finish out whatever round we're in and notify me immediately. If you can find a replacement, great. If not, I will handle replacement.

2. Please check in here at least a week before the first round starts (April 28, 2017). Once again, if you sign up for the team and find that you can't follow through, let me know immediately so that I can arrange for a replacement to take your spot.

3. You must have at least two beta checkers look through your story before you submit it. To simplify matters, you must submit your stories for betaing in Google Docs. Betas can consist of team members or existing betas that you currently use for your own writing. Not only will this help you find typos, but it will help you hone your writing style, which is a big reason why many people join the QLFC- to become better writers!

4. I will be setting up a text chat-only Skype group for our team. I would prefer if all members can join. This will be text only (no video or voice), but it's easier for me to check my phone during the day and evening than it is to check the forums. It is also helpful for brainstorming. I will, however, check the change room and PMs at least once per day, so all new questions for me here will be answered in a timely fashion.

If it is your first year in the QLFC, I recommend choosing the Chaser or Beater positions- they're more structured (you get prompts to choose from) and don't include the added stress of a time component like the Seeker position.
