Some time ago when I started thinking about a Worm fic, three ideas came to mind. This is one of them, which now seems to have started to turn into a real story. Updates will be sporadic in all probability. It's considerably darker than most of my other work, but nowhere near the level of insane grimness of most Worm fics. (title changed on 2018-07-10)

Taylor Hebert had a bad day, and came out of it changed. Some parahumans can control bugs. Some can build advanced technology. Some can do unspeakable things to space and time. Taylor can make magic rings, wondrous metals, mysterious weapons, and may not be a parahuman (or, indeed, human) at all.

Taylor gains powers in the locker; this much is familiar. But the power she gets, and what she does with it, begins to change things around considerably. Faced with the pressure of the power she has, and official apathy, she must make her own decisions, and take a different route to achieve her goals. There will be trouble.

Reality at its most basic state is... Complex. It's not something that can be seen and dismissed like everyday objects. It's something that, if witnessed, will change you. Make you question your purpose. Your reason for existence. So few have ever managed to view this truth. None have ever comprehended it. For to understand reality itself, is to evolve beyond humanity as a whole.

Some capes manifest powers that are very different from their shards, and some capes receive something very similar to the original. Taylor carries the Administrator shard, used to process and control informational systems with no upper limit. What happens when the powers she gets are a lot more direct than bug control?

The long procrastinated rewrite of Panacea of the Soul, where Taylor Hebert gets an intervention from a healer that ends up changing her life dramatically. Hopefully more plausible and more 'in character'.

When she was little, Taylor Hebert wanted to be a hero. Deep down, she might still. Instead of connecting to a Shard, she connects to the Throne of Heroes and begins to dream of swords.

Shard swap. Hard to lose a fight if you can adapt to whatever they throw at you.

Another weird idea I had while mulling over ideas for Taylor Varga which didn't quite fit in that story. Not exactly funny, it's rather more dark than I normally write. Sort of a horror story, mostly by implication. Only a short quick one-shot but it's not impossible I may revisit this one day. There's scope for more.

Taylor died in the locker. In her guilt, Madison triggered instead and became a superhero, to make up for her mistakes. Seen first on spacebattles, archived here for easier reading and for other people to find.

My story was finally over. I had brought the Golden Morning and my reward was life. I found the peace I'd fought so hard for. The world was open to me! All I had to do was stay out of the light, and not draw attention to myself. That would be easy! ...I didn't last a week.

Taylor Hebert desperately wanted two things. To be a hero, and to have some friends. Who knew that becoming one would let her make the other?
