Author has written 82 stories for X-Files, Bones, CSI: New York, CSI, and NCIS. Hi! Welcome to my lair. Please make yourself comfortable! First, I'll start with some basic stats: human, female, teacher, middle-aged, mother of one, divorced, Mexican, book worm, movie buff, music fan, tv addict. Tarot reader, husky singer, Steelers follower, ex-D&D player, former drama queen. Profound admirer of male physiques and female mystiques. Slave to my muse, I gave birth to 8 X-files storied during 1997 and 1999. 2000 marked th ebeginning of a new milennia, and the beginning of my once-again-single status. It also marked the beginning of a muse-free era. Between you and me, I think the ex kept the muse locked up in his place just to spite me (he kept everything else for the same reason!). Fast forward 6 years. Life has gone and taken a nice routine. Granted, life's ups and downs do get to you, like a shadow that threatens to darken your horizon and stop you from enjoying the sunset. But if life gives you lemons you make lemonade, and if life gives you angst... well, naturally my dear, you write fanfiction! New obsessions: Bones, CSI NY, House... X-Files will always hold a very dear place in my heart! Old pet-peeves: more seasoned authors thinking they're better than the new ones; younger authors thinking we middle-aged folks have nothing worthy to say; older authors not accepting that they're not always wiser; very young authors writing lousy sex scenes (and getting "in your face" when you point it out); people writing stories as if they were chatting online, with no respect whatsoever for capital letters or punctuation; authors who abuse slang; shameless Maryjaners claiming they're "original characters"; authors abusing cliches or who abuse OOC, there's a reason for cannon, people! And finally, authors who are too busy being full of themselves to write back and thank those who review their stories. Usual suspects: smuthumour (read "Inside your head", you'll know what I mean); first person, one-shots, weird thought lines; cliffhangers and turns of screws; unfinished thoughts; between-the-lines meanings; rooting for the lesser ships, my British professional training beating me to the punchline and having characters curse "bloody" instead of ... you know. Feel free to drop by anytime. Door's always open! |
