Author has written 4 stories for Lord of the Rings, and Avatar: Last Airbender.

I ship Zutara. My favorite minor character is Princess Yue. Azula and Toph are eternally amazing and a credit to strong women everywhere. I don't think Azula is evil OR insane. She's been terribly terribly hurt.
In case you feel like reading...I'm going to explain a bit about my Zutara fandom, since it has become practically religion for me.
To begin with, we have to keep in mind the Avatar is first and foremost a kids' show. A huge part of its fanbase is composed of 15 to 21 year olds, but when creating the show, Bryke has to channel the content to the 10 to 12 crowd, which is its target audience. This explains a lot of the Kataang action that we are given throughout the show. The message to be sent to these 10-12 year old kids is that the good guy gets the girl. Not the good guy who used to be bad, but the good guy who has always been good and probably always will be. Always. While real-life experiences lead us to believe that a girl mature for her years would more likely fall for the really hot older guy with the tortured soul, it's just not good kids' show material. So why support something that's not canon, such as Zutara? Well, guys and gals, Zutara just makes sense. It is concurrent with the show's overriding theme of balance and it brings together two people who are very much like parents to the younger characters of the show, including Aang. Additionally, it is much more interesting. Zutara naturally makes for more intriguing fiction because it is not easy. Aang's crush on Katara is very Oedipal in nature. She is responsible for him and provides a compassionate mothering figure that Aang never had. His attraction to her makes perfect sense in terms of his psychological development. Here's the catcher in that relationship: what does Katara gain or learn from it? While Aang relies on her to be caring and kind and benefits from her constant attention, showing signs of jealously when he does not receive it (which is childish and unhealthy for a relationship), the instances where Katara grows most as a person are normally not with Aaang. Many of the reasons that Katara changes in the show are because of Zuko and the people related to him, and vice versa. A relationship between these two characters is much deeper, requiring patience, understanding, and a willingness for personal growth. Katara cannot make Aang a better person than he already is. But we who ship Zutara long to see how Katara and Zuko can learn, grow, love, and turn each other into better people.
That said, please be patient with me as I make a slow, steady return to the world of ATLA fanfiction.
I plan to take down some of my stories. Others I plan to rewrite.
Here are some little ATLA manips that I've done. Please enjoy!
