It has always been one of my favourite books, and I always wondered what happened after the story ended... so I decided to come up with my own version of things and post it up here and see how it would be received by others. A note to people who read my stories - please leave a review! getting reviews makes my day, and is such an incentive to write. I find it hard to understand that people read the stories - all of them, but then never say anything about them! I would like to know what people think - good or bad - so please let me know! I have to agree with other writers who have said the same thing - sometimes you get an average of 1 review per 100 hits... and this can be more than frustrating! the bottom line is - more reviews encourage me to write more, and more regularly. So if you want updates to happen more often, leave a review! The stories: 'A pair of blue eyes' - A story told from Dickon's perspective. Old friends return to Misselthwaite Manor, bring some unexpected surprises. 'As though from far away' - A fic that was the result of an idea I had while walking home through the fields. Set during WW1, and that's all I'm going to say about it for now! please read and let me know what you think. ON HIATUS AT PRESENT! 'Summers almost gone' - This story is basically a prequel to 'Beyond the Secret Garden'. Currently, it is one of my two completed stories! it's seven chapters follow Mary, Dickon, and Colin roughly through about three years, and how they grow up and change during that time. I wanted this story to show Dickon's feelings for Mary, and how they develop and change - so the story is mainly from his character's point of view. This story finishes where 'Beyond' begins. 'Beyond the Secret Garden' Set six years after the three friends discover the Secret Garden, it principally follows the characters of Mary and Dickon, chronically their changing relationship, and the trials that come their way that they have to work through. It's all about growing up, keeping secrets, and dealing with change - about making difficult decisions and living with the consequences. I've set it between the years 1908 and 1914 - From when Mary is 16 to 22 years of age. Finished at last. Wow! 'Archie and Lilias' - One of my favourite stories. I always wondered what the story was behind Archie and Lilias's doomed romance, so I decided to write it myself. This story is set over a period of 3-4 years - from when they meet, to Colin's birth (and beyond??). I have 2-3 chapters left to write, and plan to return to it when I am able to. |
