Author has written 47 stories for Dragon Ball Z. 06/23/2019 This should be my last note. Some of you probably think "good riddance!" as you have commented after I started taking down my fanfics. My quitting FF has brought on a lot of mixed responses: understanding, angry, insulting, relieved, happy, disgusted, frustrated, and some were begging me to stay, telling me that I shouldn't let a few trolls affect me so much and reminding me of all the readers who do leave feedback. While that is true, my decision is final. I may have been wrong in the way I handled things, but that was simply my reaction to what I felt was ungratefulness and entitlement. I got pissed, to put it simply. This site has been turning for the worse over the years, which is a big shame, because I have indeed enjoyed my stay here. I don't regret leaving, and it's not like I quit writing altogether. I've actually started a blog. I won't be sharing the link here, but if you want to keep reading my fanfics, send me a PM and I'll consider sharing it with you (and if you've been a faithful reader you got nothing to worry about). If you are a guest reader, I would strongly advise to make a FF account and send me a PM, as that is definitely the easiest way to contact me. You can also find me on deviantART, my pen name is misskisa, if you'd rather use that. For those who were wondering, the reason I'm taking down my fics little by little instead of all at once is that I'm using the Publish feature to copy-paste my stories to my blog, one chapter at a time. So once I'm done uploading a story, I take it down. I'm sorry if you're disappointed, but it's time I move on from this site. I'm very happy with my new (still in progress) blog and I plan to keep using it for my work. Besides, I'm not completely gone. Just harder to find, which is fine with me. So long. 06/19/2019 So apparently, asking for feedback means I'm an egomaniac and have a horrible personality and just want people to praise me. Okay then. Congratulations, you have definitely disgusted me from this site. Well done. Goodbye. 06/13/2019 You know, just because I kept updating doesn't mean I'm staying for good. Don't be surprised when I go silent for a while after you disappoint me again. I can't keep reminding you to do the decent thing every time. 05/23/2019 I have to say I am very disappointed by the lack of feedback my recent update got, once again. Sigh. I guess there's no point in keeping on sharing my work online anymore. However, to the few of you who do leave me reviews, PM me or write a guest review to give me your email address so I can add you to the list of people who can access my docs on Google Drive (don't forget to add a space before the .com so it doesn't get erased by the site's stupid rules), that way you can continue reading my work in progress as well as giving me feedback. To those of you who would like me to keep updating on FF, you know what to do to show me I do have a reason to stay. I do hope you show me I should stay, because it'd be a real shame. I've enjoyed sharing my work here, interacting with my readers, and making new friends. Ah well. We'll see what happens, I suppose. 05/09/2019 If you're interested in the old version of Everybody Lies, you can read it here: (remove the spaces) https:// . com/document/d/1W_tF7e2VNwoOF-6Vtyj_j_10WvBsR8JG9HZKJT50RaA/edit?usp=drivesdk Beware of spoilers in the later chapters. Also, there's a comment section, so I'd appreciate it if you used it. Thanks in advance, and I hope you'll have fun reading and comparing it to the actual version of the story. See you soon. 04/29/2019 I really wish people who criticize me and/or my fanfics would leave signed reviews, that way I could reply to them directly. Or are they scared I'm gonna go on a rampage at them or something? Sheesh. It's frustrating and more than a little childish. So a guest review said I was pathetic for complaining about not getting enough reviews because my stories already have many of them. Well, mister or miss Guest, you see, I wasn't talking about the reviews I've gotten over the years. I'm actually really happy with them, and I've enjoyed the feedback for my fanfics. But what I meant is that recently, my readers barely gave me any feedback. Recently. As in, not including the hundreds of reviews I've accumulated since 2008. So, yes, I was peeved by the lack of response, which I think is fair, considering I put a lot of work into my writing, and I believe my stories are of high quality. Seeing as I wasn't given feedback for my effort, I figured there was no point in publishing my stories online, and if things kept up this way, I would rather continue writing for me and a few of my online friends and quit . Well, for those who may be worried about that, sorry for the scare, I'm staying now. I was happy to see that my note wasn't fruitless, and I'd like to thank everyone who reviewed IF as well as EL. I wouldn't mind for you guys to give some attention to my co-written one-shot The Superman Act, if that's not too much to ask. I think I'm going to update EL next. I'm a few chapters ahead with that one, actually. I changed a LOT of things from the original version, and I think I did pretty well. I hope you guys will continue to give me feedback. :) 04/19/2019 People, we need to talk. I don't know what's going on, what's changed, but for some reason most of you have stopped leaving reviews to my stories. I'm super confused, and I'm even more saddened by that fact. You see, I write for me, because I love it and it makes me happy. But I post my stories online for the feedback, and I'm barely getting any lately. I gave you an update for Innocent Feelings, and yesterday one for Everybody Lies as well as a repost of my co-written fanfic The Superman Act. And most of you don't even take a minute to give me feedback. I don't understand, and I have to say I'm pretty upset. If you keep this up, I might just keep my stories for me and a few of my friends who give me feedback, and stop updating on FF altogether. If posting my fics doesn't give me the upsides it used to, then I see no reason to keep publishing my writings online. I'm sorry it's come to this. I've said my piece, and I hope things pick up soon. But, well, if they don't, I might have to do something drastic and leave this site. I didn't mean to sound like I'm giving you an ultimatum, but I guess that's what I'm doing. Dear readers of mine, please remember that fanfics aren't for free, but all it costs is some feedback for the writer who literally gets nothing else. With that said, I hope you keep this in mind the next time you read any fanfic. 01/04/2019 Hello! CloakSky here. If you've enjoyed my stories, then you ought to go read a fanfic I've co-written with Mr. Me2. It's on his account, so follow this link: Summary: In the manga, Videl figured out Gohan was Saiyaman right off the bat. After watching an old but compelling Superman movie, Gohan feels inspired. Can this act help him become a better superhero? Can he even act at all? 8/11/2018 Hi everyone. Today, I'm going to address something that I think a lot of writers will approve of. You see, it has come to my attention that a lot of readers don't leave reviews to stories they enjoy because they don't know what to say except that it's good. I've recently talked about this with my new friend Mr. Me2 who had the same problem with giving feedback, so I gave him a few pointers, and now he writes really great reviews (if you ever get a review from him, you know who to thank too lol xD ). And so I thought I'd do the same to you, who happen to have clicked on my bio. I think it'll help both readers and writers communicate and share perspectives, and maybe become friends too? There's nothing like a long debate to make friends, and that's one of my favorite parts about fanfiction. All right, let's get started. If you don't know what to say in a review: 1. Tell the writer which parts you liked and/or didn't like. The more detailed it is, the more the writer will appreciate and love the review. 2. Point out what you felt could be improved on, or on the contrary, what you felt was absolutely perfect. We want to know what we do right and what we do wrong. 3. This one is especially important: DON'T BE AFRAID TO CRITICIZE. As long as it's constructive and done in a civil way. This point may sound like #2, but what I'm trying to say is, don't hold back for fear of hurting a writer's feelings. And if an author replies to you in a negative way when you've only tried to help (which never happened to me honestly, and I never hold back in my reviews), then it's their loss and they're never going to improve. You can nitpick, you can disagree, you can argue your point, and you can make the writer doubt their choices -- isn't that the whole point of sharing one's work online? 4. If you've noticed little hints that the writer has left in their story, tell them that you noticed. I always wonder if people pick up on the little hints about what's to come that I scatter around and I don't always know the answer. 5. You could also try to guess what's going to happen next. That's always fun, for both the reader and the writer, and it might even give the latter ideas. It's happened to me more than once, a reader wondering if "that" is going to happen, and then I think to myself, "hey, that's a good idea actually." 6. This one complements #5: you can suggest ideas. Now, try not to stray off topic, as I've gotten reviews that suggest a plot that would better fit a whole new story and I'm left thinking, "okay, but what did that have to do with my fic?" Well, that's a wrap for the little lesson on giving feedback, lol. Oh, and one last thing: if you leave a guest review with a question to the writer, it would be wise to add a way they can reply to you directly, like maybe Twitter or Instagram or maybe deviantART -- something that wouldn't make you share an email address or a full name publicly (we still got to be careful on the Internet, don't we?). I'm saying this because it's frustrating when a guest review asks a relevant question and I can't answer them directly. I've used author's note to reply to them, but I don't really like doing that because it doesn't necessarily concerns or interests the other readers, and sometimes I'm not even sure they saw the update and my reply. Or maybe just leave signed reviews when it's to ask something, lol, that sounds a lot simpler doesn't it? I hope this message will get across. Don't hesitate to copy and paste it on your bio, I don't even care if you don't credit me lol. 4/28/2018 Hi everyone, I hope you are all enjoying my updates lately. ;) I sure am enjoying your reviews, so keep them coming lol! I do have something I would like to address. I have nothing against criticisms, on the contrary, I encourage you to nitpick at my fics and challenge me to get better. But, when the criticism is that the characters I write about are flawed -- that Videl is selfish and self-centered in To See You Again, or that Gohan is reckless and doesn't always think things through when he lets his feelings get the better of him, like risking his life by provoking the cyborgs in TSYA when he knows he's the world's only hope -- to those critiques, let me just say this: Yes, they are flawed. No, I am not writing about selfless, perfect heroes. Everybody is flawed, so are you, so am I, and there is no exception to this rule. I will continue to write about flawed characters and how they evolve and better themselves with time. It's called character development, and a story is nothing without it. And to those who think that the way I write Gohan and Videl fall so fast for each other most of the time is unrealistic, well, I think you've never experienced love at first sight. I can assure you that it exists for having felt it one time, and it's not something you can control. When it happens, it's instantaneous, and it only gets worse with time. Anyway, now that's out of the way, enjoy reading my fanfics! :D 9/16/2017 Well, I am officially back to the fanfic world! I just updated Innocent Feelings, and more should come soon. I'm currently in the process of rewriting To See You Again, and I think I will post the rewrite as a new story. I'd like to thank again everyone who reviewed and PMed me after my announcement, you've all been incredibly understanding and nice and I'm happy to be back and write more GhVi for you. I guess time has helped me get over how awful DB Super is and just ignore its existence for the sake of my fics. It was just something I had to go through I think. Anyway, I'm glad to be back. See you soon. Cloak Sky (formerly known as Lilly-sama and The Fluff Queen Lilly-sama) |
