Author has written 7 stories for Star Wars Rebels. Here’s my life currently in fandomland for dummies Fandoms I like: Avengers, XMFC and the original XM Trilogy (plus the comics), RDJHolmes movie verse, Teen Wolf, Merlin, Star Wars Rebels The Ironman movieverse, Blade of the Immortal Due South, Stargate SG1, Star Wars Prequel Trilogy Angel and BTVS, Harry Potter, Star Trek in all incarnations My shared Ironman fic is at my writing buddies page... http://www.fanfiction.ws/u/470008/Neon_Daisies I got this email and I thought it fair to share my answer with all my readers, since your praise and concerns have all been touching.. "I am curious have you not written a new Iron man story in years because you no longer have time, are not interested any more or have no ideas?" P.S. I am reading Paparazzi for the first time right now and love it." My Answer: The problem is lack of time, DEFINITELY... I still love Iron Man and still occasionally get ideas for it, but unfortunately, have almost no free writing time at present. :( And now so many years down the road I find I am naturally being absorbed into other fandoms and currently life relevant series... At the risk of TMI, when I first started writing in the Marvelverse I was a military wife with lots of free time and the ability to stay up very late to write. Now several years later I am a mom as well - and both my children (ages 6 and 8) have special needs that requires lots of physical/speech therapy and supervision. (We now know that both of my daughters and I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Type 8 - though undiagnosed in me before my children's birth we now know that it runs in us and several other relatives on my mom's side of the family. It's attached to great creativity in arts and music but also leaves us with joints that make us literal human gumbys prone to migraine, pain and joint dislocation. It's hard to focus on writing after dilocating your shoulder, knee or thumb!) These days I get 4-5 free hours in which I can write during each WEEK. (It used to be that much almost daily!) My day typically starts at 6 or 7 am and ends at 10, at which point I tend to collapse into bed most of the time. I expect this will change as the year pass and my girls continue to grow more independent, but at this point of my life most of my energy is aimed (rightfully in my estimation) on them. :) Secondly - there are some distinct downsides to co-writing so many of my fic, (note none of them are with Daisy, or any of my other writing buddies, just with troubles with scheduling!) Again once upon a time we all had much more flexible calendars and I could stay up till one or two am - not so much these days! Kids are ruthless about when they get up in the morning! That said I am not entirely out of fandom... I'm just not typically writing much in it that isn't meta :P Twenty minutes here and there has proved a great style for Tumblr... which I've joined and post on semi regularly not just in the Ironman fandom but also in several other fandoms I've come to enjoy in the intervening years. (Watching with one eye while cooking supper with the other for the most part :P) If you want to see what little writing I have managed lately I do have a A03 account I'm keeping my short XMFC, Star Wars Rebels and Teen Wolf stuff on... and you can follow me on tumblr if you want a more up to date run down of the shows I'm able to write/meta/share crack about in my short spans of free time... |
