![]() Author has written 12 stories for Mulan, and Harry Potter. I can't believe it will be 14 years since I officially joined Fanfiction.net. 14 years ago I was a teenager trying to share the Mulan sequels I came up with. Although work and school take up most of my time, I am still hoping to continue posting new chapters for The Struggle of Yin and Yang and polish my older stories. Personal Background Story. I'm a twenty something woman who grew up in the wonderful 90s, when Disney films were a mixture of animation and a Broadway musical. I was the kind of girl who saw movies over and over to learn and sing along the songs. WHY MULAN? Mulan was realeased in 1998, back when I was a child on the verge of becoming a teenager. I think Mulan became quite a significant character and a role-model during my teenage years because she was someone I could relate to. I admired how she sacrificed everything to save her father's life challenging stereotypes and gender roles of her time. In spite of her courage and determination, there are these traits that make her very human. Being specific, we see Mulan fail several times: from her meeting with the matchmaker to her first days at training at Camp Wu Zhong. We can see a real person feeling shame and disappointment, and yet she does not give up. Fa Mulan hits rock bottom and musters the courage within to prove she is as worthy as any male soldier and ends up saving China. We all experience failure, and I was no exception. Personally, I was having hardships "fitting in" as I was growing up, but it was Mulan that helped me understand that being "true to myself" would ensure my own satisfaction and gain me the kind of friendships and relationships that mattered. MULAN SEQUEL Even before watching the Mulan film in theaters I was very excited about the story. The trailers guaranteed I was going to have a great time laughing at Mushu's jokes, and by watching the Reflection and True To Your Heart Videos I knew it was my kind of movie: 2D ANIMATION (Yes, I still prefer 2D over 3D). Anyway, watching the Mulan movie in theaters had such a positive impact on me I was craving to know if there would be more adventures to come. And yes, I did want to know what happened after the infamous "Would you like to stay for dinner?." A week after watching the movie I created my own cheesy version of a sequel. It was three pages long and written in my native language. I never published that. Years later I stumbled across fanfiction.net and began to type my hand written work. Most of my work was done before the Mulan II movie was released. My stories begin after Granny Fa's invitation to "Stay Forever". Like I said before, I still have some stories up my sleeve I want to share, unfortunately the life of a teacher does not allow much free time. GRAMMAR DISCLAIMER You will find some grammar mistakes in all my stories. I believe that from Porcelain Warrior to the latest stories there will be significantly less mistakes. (Unless they're typos). I do apologize if this causes any disturbance. However, when I began I was still quite young and developing my English language skills. Yes, English is not my native language, but I believe I've come a long way since I started. I have a teaching license and everything. ;) One thing in my bucket list is to proofread and correct my previous stories. OTHER DISCLAIMERS In regards to character development and overall writing, I think you will see a huge difference between my earliest and latest works. As I have grown I have evolved in many aspects.
