Okay, my name is PrepGonePunk95 (obviously it's not but you really don't need to know my real name do you?) but you can just call me Punky! I tend to act crazy and be really loud and hyper all the time and if you don't like hyper people I'm sorry to inform you that you need to get over it. My mind is usually full of thoughts about books, fanfiction, fun, crazy things for me to do, bunnies, kitties, squirillies, and bunches of other animals. But a lot of times I'm also planning world domination and how to kill homework stealing ninjas who hold a grudge against me. I'm constantly thinking of fanfictions to write and it makes me mad sometimes that I can't post them all but I get over it. I'm usually a very happy person but I can get dangerously mean if you make me mad. And when I say dangerously I mean dangerously (I haven't lost a fight yet and have destroyed many poeples reputations. Like I said, DONT MESS WITH ME!). Also a lot of people think I need help and have threatened to put me into an insane asylum but have decided against it because one of my dreams is to be put in a strait jacket and in a padded cell so I can throw myself against the wall and be stuck on the floor trying to get up with out hands. Sounds fun doesn't it? Chapter 1 I watched as he struck at my father, hitting him in the stomach. Dad flew backwards, his limp body slamming against the wall behind him. Blood dribbled out of his mouth and ran down to his chin, starting at the corner of his lips. His face was pale and he had cuts and bruises all over his face from getting punched and kicked at. Mom shrieked and flew in front of me, blocking me from view. I wished desperately that daddy would get up and we could go home and pretend like this never happened. Mommy screamed as the pale man back slapped her. He hit her so hard she fell down only a few inches from my hiding place behind the dumpster. Tears spilled over as I saw blood travel down the side of her head and pooling around her blonde ringlets from where she hit her head. I buried my face in my 4 year old arms as the man bent down towards my mother’s neck. “Ashley? Ashley are you all right?” My head shot up and I saw Mr. Chris and the rest of my 10th grade biology class staring at me. “Yea, just a little tired,” I said, feigning a yawn. He nodded and went back to pricking some kid named Josh’s finger. I turned away, not wanting to experience another flash back. I shivered and pushed the thought out of my mind, knowing it would only return later. I haven’t remembered my parents death for years. So why was it coming back to me now? I pretended to be listening to Mr. Chris explain what we were doing. I caught bits and snatches of it; like that it had to do with blood cells. I tuned him out, getting lost in my thoughts once again. “Ash,” someone said. I looked up and saw my best friend, Christian, tapping my desk. Her long black hair fell across her shoulders, shining from the light above us. “Yea?” I replied. “You ok? You’ve been kind of out of it today,” she said, looking down at me. I looked up and realized everyone was leaving, filing out of the classroom as the teacher wrote the lesson plan up for the next class. “I’m fine,” I said unconvincingly. She sighed as I stood up and gathered my things, pulling it all into one messy pile. We walked towards Mr. Chris and took our report cards from him. It was our last class of the day so we were free to go to our lockers. “Meet you out front?” I asked. Christian nodded and walked off, heading towards her locker. Christian was the sort of girl who didn’t care what any one thought of her. She had long black hair and green eyes that could scare any one who had a staring contest with her. She always wore combat boots and today she changed into a black mini skirt and a pink and black baby tee after the bell rang in the bath room. She always did hate our uniforms and she’s also the greatest best friend ever. God, I thought, I’m exhausted. Weaving my way through the chatting high schoolers who were excited to go home I thought back to last night. I had woken up every couple hours from this repeating nightmare. I couldn’t remember everything that happened in it except that it was about my parents death. I shivered again, trying to push the memory out of my head so I could forget about it. When I reached my locker I sighed. Ricky, the annoying boy who’s had a crush on me since 8th grade, was waiting for me as always. “Hey Ash!” He said cheerfully, a wide smile growing on his face. “Hi Ricky,” I tried to keep from rolling my eyes so I wouldn’t hurt his feelings, but I have to admit, it was hard. He started to ramble on about how his day was as I pretended to listen and got together my things. Eventually he asked how my day was and I replied with a simple ‘fine,’ sticking to our daily routine. Finally I had all my things ready, saying a quick good bye as I started to walk away. “Wait,” he said, putting a hand on my shoulder. I suppressed a sigh and shrugged his hand off, turning around to face him. “Will you… Um…” “Spit it out Ricky, Christian is waiting for me,” I said sourly, scowling at him since I had a pretty good idea what he was going to ask. “Ash, will you go to homecoming with me?” He blurted out. He was speaking so fast it took me a moment to register what he said, causing a look of hope in his eyes. “Ricky, you know I don’t go to dances. You ask me to everyone. Plus, I don’t like you that way,” I reminded him. He nodded, “Bye Ash,” he said, waving over his shoulder as he walked away. I giggled as I watched him trudge along, looking crest fallen in his blue jean jacket, his chin length blonde hair hanging down his back. Will he ever learn? I walked down the hallway, ignoring the stares I’m used to getting. You’d think I got stared at because of how I dressed or my sarcastic attitude. But sadly, no. I got stared at because I was reluctantly the hottest girl in school, and trust me, I didn’t want to be. Christian smiled as I walked outside, “Ricky ask you out again?” I nodded. Giggling she picked up her stuff from their position on the sidewalk. I reached back and pulled my blue tipped blonde hair back into a high pony-tail, feeling the tips of it tickling my neck. “Hey did you hear about Mr. Chris?” She asked. I shook my head no and she continued, “He’s getting married!” “Really? Good for him,” I resisted the urge to say ‘bout time’ and attempted to sound enthusiastic. I really did, I just couldn’t. “Ash, tell me what’s wrong.” “I can’t,” I said casually. She let it drop, knowing that when I didn’t want to talk about things she shouldn’t pressure me into talking about them. We turned a corner and her 3 story house came into view. “See ya’” I said, not stopping. She took of running down her long driveway, waving over her shoulder at me. My house was a couple houses down so I got there quickly, running up my driveway just as Christian had done. Emily, my Nana, left a note saying she went to run some errands and wouldn’t be back until later. I flung myself up 3 flights of stairs and into my bedroom. I looked at myself in the full length mirror. My long blonde hair was falling out of it’s pony-tail and my uniform skirt was getting a little short, but my school didn’t care so neither did I. I turned around and started to take off my white button up shirt, slipped on a black V-neck short sleeved shirt instead. I traded my skirt for a pair of dark wash jeans and flopped down on my bed, grabbing my remote control and flipping through the channels on my TV randomly. Finally I found Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was my favorite show ever. There was a slayer marathon on so I rushed down stairs and grabbed a grape popsicle, plopping down on my bed once again as I settled down to watch TV. I took a huge bite out of my popsicle and stiffened as I got brain freeze. Once it subsided I made sure to take smaller bites. When I finished off my popsicle I laid back, closing my eyes as I drifted off to sleep and Buffy the Vampire Slayer played on my TV. End Preview!
