They begin to understand one another by looking into their respective past psychological abuse. They slowly realize they want the same thing. Balance. Slow burn. You know what will come eventually. After General Organa's passing, Rey flees the Resistance. While hiding out with an old ally of Han Solo's, she is found by the First Order and the in her haste to outrun them, gets separated from her co-pilot, Chewbacca.
