![]() Author has written 44 stories for Faerie Path, Monk, Twilight, Instant Star, Burn Notice, 10 Things I Hate About You, and House, M.D.. Hello! I used to be GrandiloquentHeartlessness, but that's pretentious AF because I made it up when I was 15, and I was tired of cringing every time I logged in. Kari, she/her, 26. I have been writing fanfiction since I was about 13. Needless to say, I've grown quite a lot since then as a writer, and I still probably have quite a lot more growth to do. I apologize for the fact that it took me so incredibly long to start punctuating dialogue tags correctly. I am currently getting a masters degree, and it's hard and I'm sad. I have a deep and inexplicable eternal love for Instant Star, and that is what the majority of my stories (all from the past several years) are about. Jommy is, and always will be, my OTP and my problematic fave. I write fanfiction because I love it, and for whatever reason nothing inspires me the way those characters do. I don't write much anymore, partly because of grad school, and partly because I just don't devote the kind of time to thinking about Instant Star that I once did. I've been writing fanfic for more than half of my life, and I'm a very different person than I was when I started. Still, I appreciate the continued support from readers who engage with my very sporadic oneshots! I live on Tumblr (my URL is asortoflight) A quick thought about guest reviews: One last thing you should probably know about me is that I have a lot of thoughts about my writing and my characters, and I like to talk about them. In my opinion, the interactive nature of fanfic is one of its most interesting aspects. For me that includes giving detailed responses to detailed reviews, including (maybe especially) reviews that include criticism and/or questions. If someone leaves a signed review to one of my stories, I usually respond by PMing them back on here. But, if someone leaves a guest review, I obviously can't do that. I admittedly have had a tendency to go on a bit too much in author's notes of ongoing stories for this reason, mostly because I genuinely find the conversation really interesting and enjoy sharing my thoughts on the writing and the characters. I have come to recognize, though, that that's not necessarily the most appropriate avenue for a conversation, because the authority of the author's note (no pun intended, just etymology) can lend a certain aggressive/defensive tone to a reply. For some more of thoughts on that, if you're interested, you can take a look at this post on my personal blog (if you un-mangle the URL a little): asortoflight [.] tumblr [.] com/ post/188258557340 All this is to say: If you have questions, or you are open to my responses to your thoughts, please sign in for your reviews (or shoot me an ask on Tumblr if you want to remain anonymous). |
