![]() Author has written 19 stories for Legend of Zelda, Jak and Daxter, Naruto, Pokémon, Danny Phantom, Yu-Gi-Oh, NiGHTS, Yu Yu Hakusho, Klonoa, Card Captor Sakura, Digimon, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Bleach. “There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call The Twilight Zone.” –The Twilight Zone opening Songbird is a girl. No matter what she sounds like or writes like, she is a girl. (Who perceives herself as genderless, but she won't get into that here.) Songbird wants to study eschatology. She encourages people who don't know the word to look it up (or ask her, whichever). Songbird believes she has a few screws loose, but since she also believes everyone is insane in some way, shape or form, she isn’t too worried about it. In fact, she often makes light jokes about it in casual conversation. Songbird physically lives in the USA, with pieces of her scattered across the country. (With several bits lost in Europe, surprisingly.) Mentally, she changes vocations quite often and lives everywhere from the sun drenched Isle Delfino to the rolling fields of Hyrule to the tiny world of Pikmin to the ghost infested Amity Park. Songbird loves videogames and has been told she watched her brother play them while still in diapers. The Legend of Zelda series holds a special place in her heart. (Of which, Majora’s Mask appears to be her favorite.) Songbird wonders if putting that she has already had the Swine Flu on her résumé would get her a job. Songbird is a "beast" with the sander. Songbird’s brother once said she was born in the wrong country due to her liking and memorizing of Japanese songs. Her mother agrees. Her father thinks she should learn the language. Songbird has predominately Swiss blood in her veins, was born under the astrological sign of Libra, and born the year of the Monkey. Unsurprisingly, she prefers to remain neutral in most conflicts. Songbird does not have muses. The muses, however, have a (usually) willing writer. Songbird is nearsighted in many things. (Meaning she cannot plan ahead/is a procrastinator and has to wear glasses.) Songbird is usually cynical and likes things with dark or morbid themes. (Really, her chosen penname should’ve tipped you off to that.) She also likes to sing. Blanket Disclaimer Unless otherwise stated, all proper nouns in the stories and ficlets found on this page do not belong to Songbird of the End and are written purely for entertainment. Instead, they belong to whoever is the mind behind the category they are sorted into: for example, a story sorted under Naruto would borrow characters and places created by Masashi Kishimoto, and a story in the Zelda category would use proper nouns copywrited by Nintendo. These stories are made for fun and not profit, and the last thing on Songbird's mind is to steal someone else's work and take credit for it. She hopes all godlike CEOs out there understand and will not track her down with the intention of suing. (If they need someone on their writing staff, however...) Note to the Readers Listen. I know I'm not the best writer out there, and you're probably not either, but I think I'm a little better than the average person here on FFNet. Which, actually, isn't saying much. But I write not only for the fun of it, but to entertain you all with stories from my mind. This is much, much safer than the alternative, which is for you to enter my labyrinthine brain which will surely either drive you mad or turn you into a vegetable. And no, I don't mean the organic produce type. In short, I write so you can enjoy the madness of my ideas and still be (relatively) sane at the end of the day. Before you decide to flame me, keep in mind that I don't have to upload my stoires here. I'd be perfectly fine printing out hard copies and handing them out to people who actually like them. Hell, I don't even have to write them at all to enjoy 'em! And yes, I have surprisingly low self-esteem. (So low, in fact, many of you would be surprised I haven't commited suicide.) Crossover Plotbunny Pen ~Adoption Center~ Various plotbunnies that I can’t or won’t write for various reasons, which usually are: I don’t know enough about one, I don’t care enough to write it, or I have enough on my plate as is. The synopses aren’t very detailed so as to not limit the adopter’s freedom with the plot. If you want to adopt, it’s recommended you message me so that I can keep a list of who adopted what and so I can read the stories myself. Recommended, but not required. Even if a plotbunny has been adopted, that doesn’t mean it’s taken for good. A plotbunny can be adopted by multiple people. Busou Renkin X Full Metal Alchemist: Both run along the same basic lines of alchemy and homunculi, but if I try to find more similarities I’ll only run into my ignorance of FMA. D.Grey-Man X Full Metal Alchemist: Allen’s and Edward’s backstories are very similar, and they even look alike (in the beginning, at least). But again, ignorance of FMA and later DGM equals stalled train of thought. Zelda TP X Ookami: I’ve seen this done before by Seldavia and can attest to how much potential it has. Divine beast, meet divine beast. Zelda WW X One Piece: Pirates who don’t do any actual pirating? Check. And with a pirate captain missing who was last seen by someone who’s harder to find than a sailboat on an ocean, perhaps the Straw Hats will want to lend them a hand? (Extra points for socially inept/scaredy!Link.) Zelda MM X One Piece: Well, Termina is definitely weird enough to be an island in OP, maybe even a Grand Line one. And then there’s the whole Mikau/Zora eggs subplot with the Gerudo Pirates… Digimon Adventure/02 X Detective Conan: I know this one will raise some eyebrows, but maybe there was a soccer match? And wherever Shinichi/Conan goes, dead bodies are sure to follow. But was the culprit even human? Danny Phantom X Ghostbusters Real/Extreme: This has only been done, what… two, three times? For shame, FFnet. For shame. And do I even have to give examples of where you can go with this? Princess Tutu X Sailor Moon: Am I the only one that thinks this would be awesome? I hope not. I wonder if the Imperial Silver Crystal (or whatever the hell its name is) could function the same as Mytho’s heartshard and bring back a certain ballerina we all know and love…? Mega Man X Mega Man: Really, just mix and match the seasons (series? Whatever you call them). While I do have crossover preferences (for example, .EXE with Ryuusei), I’ll take what I can get. Mega Man X Astro Boy: Preferably the first Mega Man/Rockman, so that they’re both robot boys, but this should work with (most of) the other ones. Also, it’d be nice if the adopter was familiar with the original Astro Boy/Atom and knows more about it than just 2009’s movie (which didn’t follow the original series at all). Sonic the Hedgehog X Harry Potter: I ran across a collection of oneshots that's convinced me this needs to be done. I wish I could find that story again. (-snickers-) Voldy-poldy. Book Excerpts: "Who made the world? Why, God, of course. And who created sin? Why, the devil of course. And who made the devil? Why, God, of course. So who then is the ultimate sinner?" --Excerpt from Nostradamus; Prophecies for Women, by Manuela Dunn Mascetti & Peter Lorie. "Never shall I forget that night, the first night in the camp, which has turned my life into one long night, seven times cursed and seven times sealed. Never shall I forget that smoke. Never shall I forget the little faces of children, whose bodies I saw turned into wreaths of smoke beneath the silent blue sky. Never shall I forget those flames which consumed my faith forever. Never shall I forget that nocturnal silence which deprived me, for all eternity, of the desire to live. Never shall I forget those moments which murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to dust. Never shall I forget these things, even if I am condemned to live as long as God Himself. Never." --Excerpt from Night, by Elie Wiesel. "I think it is unwise to say you do not believe in anything when you can't prove that it is true or untrue. There is so much in the world which is always new in the way of discoveries that it is wiser to say that there may be spiritual things which we simply are unable to fathom. Therefore, I am interested and have respect for whatever people believe, even if I cannot understand their beliefs or share their experiences." --Franklin D. Roosevelt, as written in the Autobiography of Eleanor Roosevelt "Why does Fate play such tricks with poor helpless worms?" --Sherlock Holmes, as written in The Boscome Valley Mystery by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle "Even when trapped by karma's cycle..." "...The feelings that were left behind will open the door!" "Even if the Infinite Universe were to go against us..." "...Our burning blood will cut through fate!" "We'll break through the heavens and dimensions!" "We'll show you our path through force!" "Tengen Toppa... Gurren Lagann!" "JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE!?" All of Dai Gurren-dan, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Quotes: "What!? There's no bomb in 13!" "Are you sure? Look carefully." (-puts phone to wrist watch-) Bomb Terrorist and Yami, Yu-Gi-Oh! Clockwork, Danny Phantom "Now class, I'm handing back your essay tests. Undoubtedly, some of you will be happier with your grades than others." "Oh yes, I'm happy. What about you, Rich?" "I'm... one of the others." Ms. Pettibunk(?) Virgil and Richie, Static Shock "There is only one miracle, right? Then what's the second one?" Ichigo, Bleach "I've got no idea of what's right, so I'll just protect my friend!" Saulo, One Piece "Piece of cake; just remember to always cut the red wire. (-lifts panel to show all red wires-) Aw, Dark Kat, you miserable psycho!" Razor, SWAT Kats "A big smoking hole. Could be a clue." Terry McGinnis/Batman, Batman Beyond "By the way, what's the creepy lady's power?" "I don't know, but they call her Bombshell." "Oh, that's really encouraging." Terry McGinnis/Batman and Tamara, Batman Beyond "Damn European samurai! Why don't you speak English like the rest of us Japanese citizens!" Kuwabara, Yu Yu Hakusho Abridged "Don't worry about life; you're not going to survive it, anyway." HateFre, on IMEEM "Ocarina of Time may have been set in a world you have already failed to save, but Majora's Mask is set in a world you can't save." GeneHarper, on ZeldaInformer "I used to have trouble with my s, sh, and r." "So you used to talk with a lisp?" "Yesh." (Me and my friend talking) "You have to wonder what Lewis Carroll was high off of when he wrote Alice in Wonderland." (Me) "Never pick a fight with a train. The train will always win. Unless it's a gas truck. Then it's a tie." (Me) "Say whatever you want. The skepticist in me won't believe it." (Me) "Gorwing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional."
