Author has written 25 stories for Final Fantasy VII, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Battlestar Galactica: 2003, Avatar, and Stargate: SG-1. I'm just an old curmudgeon who used to write too much fan fiction. I've been making the transition over the original fiction for some time now, under my real name, and so I've long since slowed production on FFnet. Yet I still feel some obligation to a few of my old, unfinished tales. Dreadnaught's Revenge and Terra's Tears both merit completion. Maybe Colonial Sunset as well. When they are complete, it will be the end of my fan fiction. Old Writings: All of my Final Fantasy VII works are ancient, some dating back to the late 90s. I don't vouch for them any longer. My writing ability was marginal at the time. There are worse things on FFnet, though, so I will leave them for the morbidly curious. My completed TSCC and Avatar fics are somewhat decent, though they are still several years old now. Pandora's Hope, Shadow of a Giant and Of Men and Machines are good material and seemed to be well received. Touring Pandora is a cracked out humor fic, but of passable quality as well. Frankly, my writing was a little dramatic and a bit too flowery, for lack of a better term. But readers on FFnet seem to enjoy that style, so I suppose it worked out. Current Writings: Dreadnought's Revenge: Active. I have the whole story outlined and something like half of it written down in some form or another. I will slowly bring it to completion. I do have special attachment to this story, as it is the fan fiction most like my original work in style and general content. This helped me make my transition. I enjoy the unique characters, and the exploration of BSG's underlying mythology. In many ways, the series failed to deliver on that mythos with respect to the ending. The last episode left us wanting more. Too many questions remained. This story began as a 'what if', positing what would happen if a bunch of borderline pirates somehow survived the fall. It evolved into a deep exploration of Kobolian history. Just who are the angels? Who is their god? And why does the cycle continue to repeat? Our intrepid pirates are on a long journey into the depth of Colonial mythology, the Cylons hunting them dragged along for the ride. Terra's Tears: Suspended, but not dead. This is a darker fic, taking a very different view on the fate of Earth and how it ultimately affects Pandora. Essentially, the roles are reversed, but with the addition of a wild card in the form of an armed warship instead of an unarmed ISV. The survivors must adapt to Pandora's hostile environment, saving what they can of Earth's culture while avoiding angering the Na'vi clans. Colonial Sunset: Suspended, maybe dead, maybe not. Note, this one will be extremely long and difficult to follow, given the truly immense timeline I must work with. BSG's ending is one that I was conflicted about, but came to terms with in this fic. The sheer epic nature of this story means I may fail... Let's hope not, so far the reviews seem to be mostly decent. |
