Author has written 9 stories for Fairly OddParents, Utawarerumono, My Little Pony, and Pokémon. Notice: Yes, Golden Days is deleted. It turned out that I couldn't fix the story so I could make it what it wanted to be, so I did RETCONGEDDON. Version two is live, and it's going to be bigger, better, and all around cooler than the first version. And this time, I'm actually going to make a plot outline so I'll never run into any major hiccups with plot that I did the first time around. If you want the original text for whatever reason, message me and I will gladly send it to you. rin.fang noun. - 1. Some sort of literary flop. Notorious for taking her own sweet time to finish a story, terrible reviewer and updater, a lurker at best. 2. Pretentious bastard, extremely shy and reclusive. Perfectionistic, and hates everything she has written from before '10, but lacks the heart to take her stories down. Can be rather passive-aggressive, and is the master at backhanded compliments. 3. Subspecies of Homo sapien. Natural habitat is computer desk, lives primarily off of a diet of cookies, cheesepuffs, and fingernails. Stories n' Stuff Here is where I write the summaries to the fics that are first priority at the moment, as well as some upcoming projects. Golden Days: (Being rewritten--pardon my dust; Utawarerumono) Growing up and trying to find one's footing in life is easier said than done, as Hien M. will grudgingly tell you. Cynical, (probably) bi-polar, and aloof to the max, he has found in life Five Evident Truths to hold strong: 1) Someone is always better than you, no exceptions. 2) If you have an opinion, it's the wrong one. 3) Childhood lied. Dreams don't come true. 4) Fate favors the shitheads, and 5) You're just going to die anyway, so why bother? Having found himself destitute and in severe need of paying off his student loans after obtaining a useless college degree, Hien joined the military as an incentive to get money and maybe even food too. It was supposed to be a temporary thing, but then Hauenkua showed up. Then Genjimaru, then Sakuya, then Kuuya, and everyone and everything else in the world happened. Now wrapped up in his own fierce hubris and a conspiracy that could destroy the world as we know it, Hien fights a losing battle against keeping in sight of himself, especially with who and what he has to deal with every day. This is a coming of age story, sort of, about Hien the self-proclaimed sociopath and his struggles with love, identity, and aspiration. And also Hauenkua. Despair (a.k.a. It's a Fine Life): (In progress; Utawarerumono) "Come on and gather around, children. I'm going to tell you the story of the witch who lives all alone deep in the forest. Once, there was a simple handmaiden who served her master without fault. But one day, she committed an unforgivable sin. So ashamed was she that she fled her former life, but upon realizing her own cowardice, vowed to right her wrongdoing someday no matter what it cost her. For years, she became obsessed with her promise, until time finally wore through her and she became the bitter witch; a bitter witch who managed to do nothing but curse herself and bring misfortune upon her and everything she held dear. And although she had already punished herself so harshly, little did she know that her suffering had just begun..." Apple in Decay: (In progress; My Little Pony) Despite the fact that nopony ever really likes to acknowledge it, there's always been a sort of caste system in Equestria. After all, it was unavoidable--the Pegasi could soar beautifully through the air, the Unicorns were great magicians, and the Alicorns were all that with a little icing on the top. So what abilities did the Earth Ponies have? Horse apples. Enter Applejack, Earth Pony, Element of Honesty. Good farmer but not good for much else. But Applejack has a secret: she can feel It. She can feel It babbling through the streams and lacing the songs of birds. Whatever It is, though, It doesn't seem to be very good news for Equestria. And after a strange rift in the mane six's friendship develops, Applejack is determined to expose Its evil once and for all, even if it means taking drastic measures to do so... Dark fic, but not grimdark. Felo-De-Se: (Coming soon, was originally "Hien's Apology"; Utawarerumono) If you could relive the last day of your life, what would you change? Would you spoil yourself, confess your feelings to the one you love, or even fix all your mistakes? Hien is faced with this decision and a crippling moral dilemma when he finds himself in a nightmarish time loop, trying to change the events of the final hours of his life over and over again... Oneshot, based loosely off of both game and anime canon. Strange House: (In progress, Pokemon) Two years after the defeat of Team Galactic, young Gym Leader Roark of Oreburgh City seems to have lost his interest in Pokemon battles lately, preferring instead to study fossils and pursue his own academic interests. He has not slept much, spending his nights writing letters to his father's old friend, the quirky and mysterious Riley. Life goes on as normal, though, until one day Riley--supposed to be doing commissioned partner work at the Sinnoh Battle Frontier--shows up at his doorstep with only a few flimsy words of explanation and asks him to take a business trip with him. With compensation, Roark obliges... and ultimately finds himself tangled in a web of dark obsessions and power struggles from the past. But why of all things would a mining tycoon from Sinnoh be interested in the murder of a girl in isolated Lentimas Town, Unova, and a tragic training accident of a boy from Hoenn? Roark has a feeling the answer isn't going to be pretty, but it's too late for him to turn back now... |
