Feb 2019 - It's been quite a few years since I started here, I am a older now and have experienced a lot of different things. I thought I would simply abandon my Naruko story given I had lost a great deal of interest in it due to various hardships, but having re-read it again, I feel compelled to finish it. Currently, I am working on a HOTD story as well, which I have made some good progress on. I am about halfway done with the next chapter of Naruko which will be one of the final chapters of the first 'book'. Undoubtedly most of my own readers have likely moved on with their lives as well and may have likely stopped reading fanfiction, but this is quite normal and expected.

Update to various Section & Naruko's Jutsu's - see asterisks*. Feb 2019 - Decided to explain one of the details of the story I intended to talk about but never got around to.

Quick Bio:

Though I was born in Florida, I have moved around all over the US, living in many different states. Most of this moving occurred during my childhood, when I had no control over it, and lasted varying periods of time from several months to a few years. I also lived in Brazil for about 6 years when I was a child and Portuguese became my first language. All this moving has made me a very well rounded individual, due to exposure to a variety of people. To unwind I sometimes play video games, and have experience with many genres, but RPG is my favorite. Watching Japanese anime is one of my main hobbies and I've probably seen well over a hundred different series so far. Reading adventure, sci-fi, and fantasy novels is another hobby of mine, and is what got me interested in writing. (2018-19) I am also learning how to speak and write Japanese, currently being at a intermediate and basic level respectively.

Right now I am writing fan fictions to improve my ability. It's been quite fun making up my own stories and its interesting to do them from a different perspectives. As far as my fics are concerned, feel free to post whatever you like in the reviews. I don't mind getting bashed about some mistake(s) I may have made, as long as its constructive.

My favorite anime characters are probably Guts from Berserk, and Teresa from Claymore.

Guts, simply put, is the incarnation of visceral medieval manhood. He is by far, the best male protagonist out of all the anime series I have watched up to this point and has been the only one that prompted me to follow the manga.

Teresa was just too awesome for words. She was so ridiculously strong from the start, it could be considered overpowered, as was fitting for the 1st Ranked Claymore of her time! Too bad we didn't really get to see her true power, it would have been nice to see her battle the abyssal ones.

Game stuff:

I joined steam a little while back, also have discord too, if you'd like to friend me in either just sent me a tell.

Favorite game character is Neptune from that great little series that was just released. Quite a fun and interesting character.

This means that even though someone may be of the same rank, their abilities (jutsu) can and may greatly differ. For Physical Traits they can essentially be used as a direct comparison of performance, with a 10 indicating the pinnacle of a normal humans performance and anything above an 8 only being achievable through extraordinary means.

Description: Cloaks the user in a black shroud of energy.

Effects: All physical attributes are pushed beyond the limits of human abilities. Allows the use of Dark Release techniques.

Weakness: Causes dementia, resulting in damage the user’s psyche.

Sword Art: Wind Imbue – Wind Released Kenjutsu

Description: Surrounds a bladed weapon with wind transformed chakra to vastly increase cutting and striking power.

Effects: Condensed chakra coats only the blade. Potency can be increased with greater energy expenditure. Does not provide extra length or width, making it extremely difficult to dispel or absorb, especially since its nature transformed.

Weaknesses: Chakra is drained constantly, while in use, similar to an eye doujutsu. Technique cannot be used without a sword.

C-Rank

Sword Art: Whirl of Leaves – Wind Released Kenjutsu (Partial Mastery)

Description: Creates hundreds of leaves to initially distract an enemy then surrounds them in a deadly wind tunnel, which is capable of slicing objects or people passing through. Enemy is sealed inside the tunnel, and sliced to death by a criss crossing pattern of blades, transformed from the leaves. Attack is impossible to evade through speed alone.

Effects: Causes countless wounds to targets caught within and can be near instantly fatal, if the throat, heart, or certain parts of the brain are sliced by them. Death is also assured quickly if an artery is hit. Tunnel can be increased in size when initially shape transformed.

Weaknesses: Targets can escape, if they react quickly enough to the overhead sealing of the tunnel. Decreases in effectiveness the bigger it is, due to the spread of the blades. Metal body armor or other hard substances, are capable of protecting covered parts against it. Technique cannot be used without a sword.

B-Rank

Shadow Clone Technique - Ninjutsu - Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Up to 4)

Description: Creates a certain number of clones, selected by the user, that have real bodies and can use any technique the ninja knows.

Effects: Disperses user's chakra evenly among all the copies. Using fewer clones allows them to take much more non-lethal damage before they are dispelled. Ninja may elect to end the technique at will and return their chakra.

Weaknesses: Since the ability spreads chakra equally among all the clones, this reduces stamina quickly, particularly through repeated use. Chakra from copies that are destroyed is lost.

Bane’s Cycle: Decadence – Dark Release Jutsu

Description: Forms a gigantic rotting skeletal hand that extends from the user’s palm.

Effects: Able to grab enemies quickly and crush them with the user’s strength, also drains the victim’s life force upon touch.

Weaknesses: Can only be used while in Dark Chakra Mode. Enemies can avoid the hand, but it does not disappear unless the wielder wills it.

A-Rank

Sword Art: Visions of the Third Eye - Kenjutsu (Partial Mastery)

Description: Makes the sword completely invisible by allowing light to pass through it.

Effects: Draws an eye symbol on the user's forehead which binds the weapon to their vision. This can also make the sheath invisible if used before being completely drawn.

Weaknesses: Drains a substantial amount of chakra, while in use. Unable to use in conjunction with Wind Imbue. Usage disabled under severe mental distress, due to concentration required. Technique cannot be used without a sword.

Bane's Cycle: Harvest - Dark Release Jutsu

Description: Summons necrotic diseased hands to drain the target(s) physical and spiritual strength.

Effects: Summon can be delayed and activated at will. Hands cause a slow eating necrosis of whatever they touch and saps all forms of chakra. Once grappled a target cannot escape through physical strength alone, either amputation of affected limbs or destruction of the hands by a technique of A-Rank or greater is possible. If limb is not amputated however, their body is infected with a debilitating muscular and painful nerve disease, and any necrosis that occurred is permanent unless healed by someone of prodigious talent. Four hands will appear as a minimum in or out of sequence, more with greater expenditure, size of hands also being affected by this.

Weaknesses: It is possible to dodge the hands, however, highly unlikely given its at will activation. Target(s) must be on similar surface as when the technique was invoked by the user's hands. Gases are not valid surfaces.

S-Rank

Bane's Cycle: Torment of the Undying - Dark Release Genjutsu

Description: Sends target(s) into a world of dementia.

Effects: Manipulates all five senses into believing they are in a world filled with their greatest fears, should such a fear not exist, they are afflicted by those of the user instead. This is powerful enough to immediately drive anyone witnessing it insane and send them into a suicidal urge. Only by either the will or death of the user can this technique be dispelled should the target survive.

Weakness: If the target is immune or unfamiliar with fear, as in a incomplete being, the psychological affects are greatly diminished.

Bane's Cycle: Calamity - Dark Release Jutsu

Description: Creates a Gargantuan Magic Circle that absorbs both physical matter and energy.

Effects: Absorbs into a dark void all forms of physical matter and any technique A-Rank of lower regardless of form, and most techniques of S-Rank. Magnitude, or reach, of technique is determined by initial positioning and elevation along with chakra expenditure.

Weaknesses: Unable to move while channeling and requires a short 'wind-up' period. Limited effectiveness behind the user. Chakra usage is great enough to immediately incapacitate or kill any user without substantial reserves.

Effect: Makes a shadow clone out of mud that can reform itself as long as the mud remains. This ability does not disperse chakra evenly like the shadow version and instead uses a fixed amount of chakra to create a single copy.

Weaknesses: Unlike a normal shadow clone, ones created by this technique cannot use jutsus and are only half as powerful as the creator is.

Lore Section (Additions and changes to the world):

Sea of Stars - the biggest and most popular chain of inns in the Fire Country. It is run by the Tokawa and Boshin families. The inns are well known for their friendly hospitality, excellent service, and location specific additions such as: hot springs, kabuki plays, styled restaurants, manzai shows, and various outdoor activities.

The Ancient War - a cataclysmic event which destroyed the old world. The ruins of it still remain in various areas throughout the planet and sometimes cities are built upon them. Technology from that time is highly valued by explorers and ninjas, though very rarely found and usually in a state of ruin, where they are useless.

*New curriculum - the original ninja schooling focused almost entirely on communication and basic martial arts skills and tactics, with the changes in the world it was determined to be necessary for them to become more well rounded. Therefore, numerous other basic subjects were added to the program focusing on: navigation, map making, trap making, scouting, and a more robust physical training regime. This makes the newer generation of ninjas potentially far more capable than previous, though since it is an early adaptation, grading curves were added where necessary to ensure students success was commensurate with previous generations to maintain military strength. Most of these topics, while already in use by many, were only taught on a 'as needed' basis and typically in a less formal setting where learning was more difficult and therefore less effective than when in learning environment.
