Update, 2017: I am resurrecting this user account after long years of inactivity since I recently found myself returning to the "Stand By Me" fandom, adding chapters to "In a Savage Land". Thank you so much for leaving reviews on my stories, it's what made me want to return to writing about these characters, continuing their story just a little further.

"nenia" is Latin and translates into "magic song" as well as "lament".

Please note that English is not my mother tongue so have a little mercy if you are going to review some of my stuff. I have been writing in English for some time now but it still happens that I get things wrong. Constructive criticism is very welcome! And if you spot odd sentences or spelling errors, don't feel shy to point them out to me.

Additional note on "In A Savage Land":

I didn’t want to disturb the reading of this story with a lengthy author’s note but I felt the need to write down a few thoughts concerning this story. First of all: it wasn’t meant to exist in the first place. “Of Sinking Or Swimming” was finished, over, never meant to get a sequel. Mostly because it ends at what is most likely the happiest moment of Chris’ life, judging by what can be guessed from the movie and the book. And then I received really wonderful feedback and people urged me to write more. I can’t say writing this sequel was easy (after all, it took almost a year to piece together) but I did go through with it for the people who took the time to review. (Hope you guys don't regret it by now.)

So, thanks again for the wonderful reviews! I hope you enjoyed the story.
