Tips: How to Use FanFiction Succesfully!

- When reading a story, check the published date and the date of the most recent update before you decide to offer criticism. The author may be long gone, or so much improved that any advice would be redundant.

- Read the author's notes!

- Visit the author's profile for info on whether or not they may be on hiatus, how to contact them, and other useful things.

- If an author's work has gotten fan art and they link to it, please comment on the artist's piece!

- Always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS ask permission if you want to do a translation or something else.

- Help your favorite authors: If you find a plagiarized work (in other words, a copy/translation of a story that does not state permission granted by the author), contact the original author FIRST. Check their profile page to see if they have given permission there before messaging them. Allow them to handle the reporting.

- Do not flame.

- Reviewing is polite. :D Long reviews are welcomed and appreciated! But you must never attack an author through a review.

- When reviewing, don't just tell the author that you liked the story or chapter, tell them what you liked about it. Constructive criticism is very helpful to an aspiring writer, but go about it nicely and if the author says not to give it to them, don't.

- Don't harass an author about updates. If we have not outright stated that the story is on hiatus or has been dropped, we're probably just busy in that scary world outside of our bedrooms.

News

6.28.2017: Long time no talk, everyone! If you've been keeping up, you will notice that I published and completed two more Miraculous Ladybug fics: Lucky Us (my magnum opus) and Make Me Like You (a collection of Marichat oneshots written for Marichat May last summer). Up next will be an edited, expanded version of the ML Winter Sonata AU I wrote on my blog last winter. Please look forward to the maelstrom of pain!

As for my personal life, I am less than a month away from graduating with my Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. What I'll be doing after that is so far undetermined, but God knows where I'm supposed to go and He'll get me there. Oh! And did you know that I published my very first short story this year?It's called Carter Lake, and you can read it on the website Flash Bang Mysteries!

2.26.2016: Wow, I am killing it with these updates lately, aren't I?

As you must have noticed by now, I've got two new fics up: Monophobia and Paris is For Lovers. Miraculous trash for Miraculous trash. If you think that's the last of it, oh no, friends, it is only the beginning. Two multi-chapter fics are in the works, one an AU (but a mild one) and another pure, unadulterated LadyNoir fluff that will roast you alive with the slow burn. Haha, I've only been in this fandom for three weeks and I done lost my damn mind.

It'll take a while to finish them because school. I have a science fiction short story due in a week, and after that a novella that has to be at most 50 pages long. But hang tight! I may start posting chapters of the AU once the plot really gets rolling.

2.7.2016: Another news update so soon?! Yes, it's a small one. I just wanted to alert y'all that I've joined Archive of Our Own, another fan fiction site. My screen name there is PrincessKitty1. Doesn't mean I'll stop posting here, by any means. I'd been toying with the idea of cross-posting for a while. As of today, I haven't uploaded anything to AO3, because I want to take the time to edit all of my Bleach fics before throwing them out there. The edited chapters will also be uploaded here, replacing the old ones. It's going to take a while. So if you see PrincessKitty1 on AO3 posting my fics, relax, it's me. I'll make a note on my profile there... when I learn how to use it.
