At age ten he is a disappointment to his brother, more interested in dead things than deductions. When a small, strange girl moves to the village, Mycroft gets a protégé, but Sherlock finds something much more.

"Why do you stay with him?" I laughed. Only he could ask a question like that after fifteen years. "Because every time he looses himself, he always finds his way back to me. One thing he'll never forget is that he loves me."

After S3. Lestrade wants to celebrate Sherlock's quick return from exile by taking him & others to a pub. Sherlock is less than thrilled. Things get interesting when Lestrade convinces Anderson to relate his original theory about how the detective faked his death years before. She's ready to change their dynamic and make sure he can't mistreat her anymore. But Sherlock ends up feeling guilty, and offers to do something unusual to make up for the hurt he caused.
