Summary: It took eight years until Yugi solved a puzzle, as well as three thousand until a spirit was released from imprisonment in darkness. Once freed, however, the spirit in question remembers nothing of her past life, and knows nothing but to protect her rescuer at all costs. Fem!Yami AU. Manga-centric with elements of the first series anime/season 0.

Notes: This is my first take on a Rule 63/gender change fic, as well as a canon retelling. It'll mainly cover the school, Trial of the Mind, Death-T, and Monster World arcs. Keep in mind this is the first in a series; once this is finished, there will be subsequent installments covering Duelist Kingdom, Battle City, and Millennium World (and maybe R).

But there's a new threat on the horizon, and she knows only four other people and a robot she hasn't seen in years can stop it with her. Initial Hiro/OC, eventual Hiro/GoGo.
