Here's my map of Panem, not spectacular, but it gives you a general idea of where everything is, the flooding was based off of elevations, so most everything that was under 250ft is under water. All the districts are based on facts from the book and research on where in North America those resources are available.

Hey all, I am a long time reader of fanfic (I think it's going on 10 years now...I'm an old school Xena/Gabrielle 'shipper), and a n00b writer (So Much for My Happy Ending is my very first fic).

I was pretty content to sit and read Melissa Good fics, but then I went out and saw Sucker Punch, and there was just something about the characters that resonated more deeply than anything had in awhile.

I wanted to know more about them, what their back stories were, their motivations, how they felt about the other characters, and in particular...Rocket/Babydoll, I dunno, there was just something about them.

But, in April, when I started writing, there weren't any other fics in this 'shipping genre, which made me a sad panda. So, y'know "be the change you want to see in the world."

I am very glad to see that with the release of the DVD, a whole batch of very talented writers have seemingly cropped up from nowhere.

I am a construction worker by day, and I have a Bachelor's in Biology, so the last writing class I took was almost a decade ago in high school. So if my technical writing vocabulary is crap, it's because I've had no formal instruction in it.

I'm also in my mid twenties transitioning to grown up life with babies and mortgages and so forth, which leaves me with not as much free time as I remember having as a student ;)
