I love Harry Potter. I also adore anime so if you sense a sort of anime-ish feeling in my writing, I apologize but never will I write something like "He fell down anime style" - it's ill-befitting of a writer.

EPIC CHALLENGE, AND I MEAN, A SERIOUSLY EPIC CHALLENGE RIGHT HERE.

My own personal challenge, you see, I've always love reading stories where everyone has a use. I hereby call this, the "World War" challenge.

1) Harry was never sent to the Dursleys. A darker version of Albus decides to use him as the weapon he was meant to be, and raises him to be a super soldier. He lives in a home protected under the Fidelius Charm. He is presumed dead to the world.

(NOTE: His personality can be anything you describe to be. But there will always be one constant. It's that fact that he's very arrogant, but doesn't show it often. His scar is hidden by a powerful glamour. )

(IMPORTANT NOTE: Harry gets his own wand, and Neville gets the brother wand of Voldemort.)

2) By the time he is eleven, Harry is able to perform feats such as Occlumency, Legilimency and is about as competent as an Auror trainee in fighting. He is trained by Albus personally along with a few others, namely Severus Snape, who taught him the mind arts. Snape is still every bit as cruel to him seeing him as Jame's son, but it is completely and utterly overshadowed by the anger he feels for Albus, seeing at what he's done to Lily's only legacy.

3) From here, you can do as you wish for years 1, 2, and 3. I prefer if you deviated from canon and get creative, but it is your choice. Peter Pettigrew is never caught, but soon flees to resurrect his master, due to the prophecy.

(OPTIONAL: If you break out Sirius, he'll find out Harry is 'dead' - thus, he becomes a sort of outlaw. He's the wildcard and hunts down rogue Death Eaters, becoming known as the Black Hunter.) You don't have to give him a silly nickname of course.

4) In year 4, Neville is entered into the Tri-Wizard tournament. (Note: Depending of their relationship, Harry can support him or ignore him.)

(ADDITIONAL OPTIONAL: Someone has to die here. It can be Cedric or Victor, choose you poison. Though if you have Victor die, emphasize his relationship with Hermione. It'll make things interesting to see additional drive for a side character.)

5) The Order of the Phoenix is reassembled.

6) Harry assembles his own group (Please, just don't name it Dumbledore's Army - It's utterly distasteful). Mandatory members are as follows:

7) Harry frames Umbridge for assault of a student. He steals her wand and 'attacks' Pansy Parkinson (who is under Draco's command). In the mean time, Voldemort builds his army.

8) Fudge is secretly put under the imperious by Lord Voldemort. And like that, he controls the majority of the Ministry. He personally brews a lot of 'loyalty potions' - and begins his slow take over of the Hit Wizard and Auror departments. By the time Amelia finds out, half of her Aurors are gone and she flees the Ministry. She alerts any surviving Aurors and they also leave. She is soon framed for the murder of five Aurors, as is printed in the prophet.

9) At this point, war is on the brink. Harry is continuing to train his group, Dumbledore is preparing the Order for battle and Amelia is regrouping whatever is left of her forces. Fudge puts out bounties for three people with false evidence, and they are the following:

10) This happens during Christmas after 5th year. Dumbledore flees Hogwarts to who knows where, and Harry tells Neville to flee to France.

11) Amelia takes Susan and travels to France. Using the galleon trick, they keep in touch.

12) At this point, Mcgonagall is Headmistress. Hogwarts is the only refuge for those smart enough to realize war is close.

13) Harry convinces his right hand, Draco Malfoy, to join the Death Eaters as a spy. He is hesitant but follows his command, after spending years with the guy, he gains a sort of respect. (He also learns that Voldemort is a son of a muggle and a squib)

14) Pieces set, Voldemort begins to send out forces to raid London. But the prime minister was warned by Dumbledore, and he is prepared. The statue of secrecy is broken - magic is revealed to the world.

15) Voldemort bides time and builds his army of Death Eaters and Magical Creatures alike. The Werewolves, outlawed Giants, Vampires and all the Dementors join him. He allies with other Dark Lords in the world, who has their own armies. Together, they are a force.

16) And thus, the First Magical World War begins at the beginning of 6th year.

17) The ICW meets together to figure out how to deal with the European Magical problem. The States announce that they are neutral, as does Africa.

18) Hogwarts allies with Beauxbatons and Durmstrang.

19) Harry spends the beginning of the year hunting down spies, and keeping an eye out on suspicious members. Within a week, he captures one, feeds him Veritaserum, and has him spill all information. With the information, he leaks the names of all the spies within Hogwarts.

20) He continues training his group. At this point, Harry himself is competent enough to hold his own against Bellatrix, the second strongest fighter of all the villains, including the other Dark Lords except Voldemort.

21) On Halloween, Hogsmeade is being raided but Harry is ready beforehand, being warned five days early by Draco. He, along with the help of the Professors, come up with a strategy to fight them off. Harry personally defeats the leader of the raid, Antonin Dolohov, but the man escapes with a port-key once he sees the Professors coming.

22) Harry (under his alias of course) gains fame and a bounty. However, he does not flee, insisting that - "The Dark Lord Voldemort and his pawns do not strike any fear into my heart."

23) By this time, nearly every muggle in Europe flees to other countries, in fear of the up and coming war.

24) Diagon Alley is than raided, but again, with the help of Draco Malfoy, Harry plans a defense. He has the Professors and many Aurors are stationed at various tactical points. Harry's group is also there, fighting in a large group, told to "hit and run" in coming enemies.

25) Sometime after Christmas, Dumbledore returns to Hogwarts, but is hiding within the Headmaster's office. There, he lays out a plan to defeat Voldemort once and for all. During his travels, he had been hunting down various Horcruxes and tells Harry that he is also one, determined by years of research. Harry is angry but does not get temperamental. Dumbledore than reveals that he managed to heal most of the loyal Unspeakables and has them perform a ritual to remove the piece of soul, finishing the Horcrux in his head. At this point, Dumbledore reveals to Harry secretly, that he has one of the Deathly Hallows. And tells him - "If I die, you are to go to my grave and take the wand. Hide it, do not destroy it...the Elder Wand cannot be destroyed, for it will only be recreated elsewhere, beyond our control. It is essential."

26) Before the end of sixth year, Gellert Grindlewald escapes Nuremburg, broken out by Voldemort.

27) During the summer of 7th year, Sirius Black returns to the public eye by openly slaying one of the Dark Lords Voldemort made a pact with.

(OPTIONAL: You may detail many battles along this time frame. Whatever is next is strictly story line.)

28) Harry receives a letter detailing the location of numerous Death Eater strongholds from Malfoy. Along with this, Dumbledore has also planned an attack on the Ministry of Magic.

29) Daphne Greengrass and her family manages to convince many of the Neutral families to help fight off the Dark Army.

30) Finally feeling that he has enough support, Harry manages to convince Dumbledore of a plan. The first part of the plan was to tell the world that Neville Longbottom was dead. The second was to tell Voldemort - "You were always arrogant Tom. The chosen one, dead and gone? The chosen one, Harry Potter, is alive and well."

31) The attack is successful and the Ministry is re-taken. The aftermath includes the ousting of the corrupted government and the return of Amelia Bones, Susan Bones and a very much alive Neville Longbottom.

32) Sometime after Christmas, Dumbledore recieves a mysterious letter (later revealed to be from Grindlewald), informing him that Voldemort is planning an all out attack on Hogwarts, the goal was to capture him. Instead of openly fleeing and saving numerous lives, Albus stays and informs only Harry. He wanted the war to end now. They gather all of their forces to Hogwarts, and evacuate all non-fighters.

33) Sirius Black, in the middle of killing a Death Eater, manages to find out about the plan. In disguise, he goes to Hogwarts, in hopes of finding and killing Peter Pettigrew.

34) The final battle commences. Sometime during the battle, Draco is forced to reveal is spy status, and is forced to defeat his father in battle, whilst convincing his mother to surrender.

35) During the battle, Harry meets and duels Bellatrix Lestrange. However, he sees that Voldemort is nearing towards his closest friends and so he reveals to the world that he is Harry Potter. Sirius, being nearby, begins fighting Bellatrix in Harry's stead. Dumbledore arrives to fight Voldemort, who is soon occupied by other powerful Dark Lords. Voldemort takes advantage of this, and begins fighting Harry Potter.

36) During the fight, Albus is being overwhelmed severely, outnumbered nearly seven to one (Dark Lords). A killing curse comes right at him but it doesn't hit, as Albus was summoned and thus, saved by Gellert Grindlewald. He then reveals that he was the turncoat. Old friend (Lovers, whatever you want) reunite and fights off the enemy.

37) Harry takes his duel to Voldemort to a more private location, telling him that it would be "better". They apparate to an empty Godric's Hallow. As planned, Harry activates the already prepared apparition wards, and reveals that all of his Horcruxes have been found and destroyed. (You make sure that it's done.) They than fight to the death.

38) Harry defeats him in a battle of skill, and kills him. (You choose the method, but not the killing curse.)

39) Aftermath is your imagination. Pairings or whatever you did during the story.

ENDING NOTES: I hope you read the whole thing. This is a guideline to what I hope is a story you all will write. If you insist upon pairings, it will be a straight pairing. I have nothing against boy/boy or girl/girl, the fact of the matter is, it just deters from the story line for me. Any plot holes you find up there, this is a challenge so I expect you to fill it in. THIS IS AN EPIC CHALLENGE. You don't have to write out all the characters I've listed, but I hope that you will try your best. Example: I wrote that you need Lavender B. up there. I want you to find a use for her, she's a gossip so she knows the school. There you go...
