Poll: Should "Disrupt, Corrupt and Interrupt Me" be split into two stories? One following Joker and Harley; the other following Bruce and Selina? Thanks for taking the time to fill this in. It's a massive help :-D and very much appreciated! Vote Now!

About Me

If parts of a story made your eyes glaze over with boredom, I really want to know. Like most people reading this, I'm here to be a better writer. :-D

Discworld, Batman and MLP: FiM are the main fandoms that I follow: when I encounter a character who gets under my skin and makes me want to see more of them . . . well, I search their fanfic or try to write my own.

Background

According to Mama and Papa Simetra, I was inspired to start fanficking by The Hobbit and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I cringe as I write this, but apparently my first Mary Sue was a Mrs Oakenshield (not that type of Mary Sue, I hasten to add).

The oldest thing they still have is a picture book (fancomic?) about the Teenage Mutant Turtle Michelangelo. Having a birthday party. Ending with the daring plot twist of Master Splinter severely reprimanding our hero for his decadent ingestion of copious amounts of junk food.

And yes, I was a seven year old AprilxMichelangelo 'shipper - and secretly, still am :-P.

Inspiration

This quote by David Niall Wilson (@ http:///member/david-niall-wilson/blog/writers-are-a-lot-like-method-actorshow-well-do-you-know-your-charac) inspired me a lot:

"Not all fiction is character driven, but if yours is - or you want it to be - you have to be willing to open yourself to thoughts and actions and reactions that are alien to your nature. You have to be willing to meet all the characters halfway and - if you can’t understand their motivation on a personal level, you have to be able to recognize that motivation and allow them to react to it uninhibited by the confines of your own thoughts, ethics, and morality. It’s not easy."

Miscellaneous

The funniest thing I've read in years . . . don't read this at school/work. Or while you're drinking coffee, as you may spray it from your nostrils @ http:///article_16554_the-5-most-baffling-sex-scenes-in-history-fanfiction_p2.html
