Author has written 10 stories for Legend of Zelda, League of Legends, Fate/stay night, High School DxD/ハイスクールD×D, Queen's Blade/クイーンズブレイド, and Akame ga Kiru/アカメが斬る. I am The Twilight Knight...at least that is that is what my profile says. I've been here a while and I feel as if first batch of stories are subpar, and as such I will rewrite and improve upon them. All I can do is wait out the storm, until I'm able to write to the best of my abilities. I won't disagree that my earlier ones were pretty bad but as time goes on I'm hoping to move past those and make a memorable story like "In Flight" down the line. *Thoughts on Naruto Crossovers* Before I get into this allow me to state that I have nothing against Naruto as a series and I don't have a problem with the authors that write for it either. It is most of crossovers that I don't like. There are just certain things about a lot of them that I can't stand and really bug me. I don't go out of my way to review them either, I just move on. So, this is here to provide an explanation for why I don't like them. 1). Naruto is always godlike or OP in them 2). The other series gets "stepped on" to make Naruto seem more grand 3). They're so predictable that they can be figured out from the 1st chapter 4). No other character besides Naruto, Sasuke, and (sometimes) Kakashi really get stuff written for them Allow me to elaborate individually my reasons: 1). Naruto is always godlike or OP in them Basically, I dislike this because it undermines the other series AND at times Naruto is like an OP original character. What I've noticed is that whenever Naruto is godlike he either just barely tries and solves all the problems or is stupidly ignorant of his power and does nothing. A lot of times the author just changes Naruto so much that is it is basically just an OC they made up and called it Naruto, basically eliminating the point of crossing Naruto over in the first place. It is quite annoying to see a series you like and are loyal to be undermined like that. The godlike plotline just makes it more obvious that is what they are doing. Also...Naruto would NEVER change Esdese EVER. She said she would be the one to change Tatsumi, not be changed by him. She LIKES what she does, no one ever forced her to be the way she is, she made the CHOICE to be that way. Why would she change? Please explain to me how he would change her. Because he's got a gift for changing people? Try again. 2). The other series gets "stepped on" to make Naruto seem more grand Sort of explained in #1 but I'll go into more detail here. When Naruto is crossed with Fairy Tail he usually ends up being either disgustingly powerful, builds his own guild, or possesses a so called "unique" form of magic that is more or less just an overpowered ability. I'm not quite sure what "Dragon God Slayer Magic" is but it's broken as crap because he uses it to just steamroll over opponents that even the regular Fairy Tail characters had issues with. Also, do you know why it is "Dragon God Slayer Magic"? Because it makes him above a normal Dragon Slayer since a god has no limits, correct? Now, when Naruto builds his own guild two thing probably happen: they either take the stronger characters like Ezra and place them into the guild or bring in other Naruto or even characters from other series. This is usually fine but the issue is that this typically ends up with Naruto looking down on everyone else because he has all the strong people on his side. Now, is this undermining? Yes it is. The issue with being disgustingly powerful right off the bat relates to my first reason for disliking the crossovers. These were just examples with Fairy Tail but there are many other examples I could have used. If my memory serves there is a story where Naruto eats a Devil Fruit and doesn't have the water weakness because of Kyuubi or something. I don't know and that story may not even exist. 3). They're so predictable that they can be figured out from the 1st chapter Maybe it is just me but the Naruto crossovers are pretty predictable. It usually applies to the stories were he is godlike or OP because those are usually a lot alike and a lot of stuff can be figured out after thinking about it for a bit. An example like this: Highschool DxD Godlike Naruto = Massive Harem and Naruto Calls the Shots If you take a logical approach it makes perfect since because if a character is stronger than everyone, why would he follow anyone's orders other than his own? He doesn't and that is the point. He does whatever he pleases because no one can truly order him around or tell him what to do. The massive harem part goes without saying because Naruto ALWAYS has a harem. 4). No other character besides Naruto, Sasuke, and (sometimes) Kakashi really get stuff written for them Let's be honest here, most of the stories here are for Naruto or Sasuke and they are typically about Naruto and Sasuke being OP and getting their way. This causes other characters, who are decent characters, to be overlooked in favor of those two. I'm not saying that no other character has stories, I'm saying that those characters don't have nearly as many as Naruto or Sasuke. Kakashi has a decent amount but he doesn't have as much as Naruto or Sasuke either. I've seen stories for Itachi, Nagato, Tobi and others. However, none of these truly have the sheer volume that Naruto and Sasuke have, which is a shame because these stories typically have decent plotlines since they usually don't have an OP Naruto or Sasuke. However, that is just my opinion. If I ever decide to write a Naruto story I will guarantee you that Naruto or Sasuke will not be the main character. I'm not ruling out the possibility of writing one though. Below is a list of all the series that I know. Games Soul Calibur Legend of Zelda (I've played Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and Four Swords Adventures) Age of Mythology League of Legends Devil May Cry (All of them, except Devil May Cry 2 and I've played DmC) Legend of Heroes Series Animes and Mangas (if I read them): Akame Ga Kiru/Kill Overlord Pokemon Dragon Ball Z Naruto Tokyo Ravens Mahou Sensou (Read and watched) Strike the Blood Walkure Romanze (It was originally a game, haven't played it.) Dangan Ronpa (This was a game too) Soul Eater One Piece (That was a long time ago. I stopped watching when the Reindeer joined) Baka to Test 11eyes (I watched and played the game) Machine Doll D-Frag Death Note Witch Craft Works (Yes, it is spelled that way. I've read and watched this one) K C- The Possibility of Money and Control (Unappreciated in my opinion) No Game No Life Overlord of Twilight Crossovers Suirai http:///wiki/Lagiacrus_Rare_Species Lieselotte Werckmeister http:///wiki/Lieselotte_Werckmeister Taki Sophitia Cassandra Kasumi Ryu Hayabusa Ryuk Erza Scarlet Natsu Dragneel Gray Fullbuster Lucy Heartfilia Mirajane Strauss Happy Nasus http:///wiki/Nasus/SkinsTrivia Ryze Darius http:///wiki/Darius/SkinsTrivia Fizz Nautilus http:///wiki/Nautilus/SkinsTrivia Cloud Strife Tifa Lockhart Lightning http:///wiki/Lightning_(Final_Fantasy_XIII) Itachi Uchiha Auron Zebia http:///character.php?id=53815 Elicia http:///character.php?id=53816 Medusa Rider http:///wiki/Rider_(Fate/stay_night) Dante Dante's Daughters http:///zine/anime/article/3507/ Leviathan (Dante's oldest daughter) Asmodeus (One of Dante's Daughters) Beezlebub (Dante's Daughter) Belphegor (Dante's Daughter) Alexander the Great http:///wiki/Rider_(Fate/Zero) Percival Cho'Gath (Gentleman Skin) Welveria Claudette Tina Rufina Rengar http:///wiki/Rengar/SkinsTrivia Qurupeco Great Jaggi Gragas Garen http:///wiki/Garen (Dread Knight Skin) Rouna |
