![]() Author has written 31 stories for X-Files, Samurai Champloo, Storm Hawks, Saiyuki, Nabari no Ō, Harry Potter, and Kuroshitsuji. June 2012: I have a special request this time. After many years of writing fanfic, I have published my first original novel. I think anyone who likes my fanfic would enjoy it - it has definite anime influences, especially anachronistic series like Samurai Champloo and Saiyuki (Saiyuki fans in particular I think would get a kick out of it =), but the characters and storyline are all mine, and I'm very proud of it. It's a fantasy adventure/gay romance set in an alternate-universe China and Japan, about a half-cat assassin and a kitsune prince and the demented lord they have to keep from destroying Shinoda Forest (the haven of all Japanese youkai). I put pretty much everything into it that I like to see in an anime: magic, adventure, cool battle scenes, lots of youkai, mecha, dragons, and of course, supernatural boys in love! --So, well, I would be really happy if you would check it out. It's available in paperback and for Kindle at : just search for "The Assassin's Flute". If you do, you will have my very earnest gratitude, and I hope you will drop me a note and say what you thought of it, good or bad. Thanks! July 2009: I just want you to know that I haven't forgotten about "Sleepwalker". Yes, I know it's been years, but it's never very far from my mind, and I will get there. I deeply and humbly appreciate your continued reviews and attention. Stop the Pairing Wars! Why don't more people write reviews? Really, is it that hard to do? Reviews are like air and water (and coffee) to a writer. It's pretty discouraging when you check your stats and see that 100 people have looked at a story and fewer than ten of them had anything to say about it. Please, if you like someone's story, consider writing them a review, even if it's just "Great fic!" or "I enjoyed this" or whatever. We'll all be happier for it. =) -=-Hello, fellow scriveners. I'm Paula and I've been writing all sorts of stuff for decades now. (The earliest pieces I can remember writing were an epic fantasy about wild mustangs and a poem about Muhammad Ali. Honest. On a manual typewriter, no less.) I wrote tons of original-universe fic--a lot of of it with the late, lamented Cara Sherman--for the comics apa CAPA-Alpha (plus a lot more that will never see the light of day), and the first fanfic I can remember writing involved getting my OC rock band, Jet Clarice and the Jokers, onto the starship Enterprise. (No Mary Sue-age involved, I promise.) Also wrote some Legion of Superheroes-based fanfic that appeared in the Legion APA, INTERLAC, back in the day. (I imagine a lot of you have never heard of APAs. It stands for "Amateur Press Association". APAs were one of the main ways fans chatted and collaborated on projects before the invention of the Internet.) Didn't get inspired to really take fanfic seriously until the X-Files--the only one of my X-fics that I still like is here at FF.net--and didn't go in totally over my head until I fell for anime. The rest is history. Lots of it. (...and lots of it in partnership with the also now late and most bitterly lamented Judy Renee Pope.) --Besides writing sad stories about boys with swords and crystal blasters, I like to do Native American-inspired beadwork, make Japanese kimekomi dolls, read, do research, watch movies, play with the cats, watch more movies and thunderstorms, watch much more anime than I'll ever be able to write about, and drink too much coffee. |
