Newsmare: Recently, Sandstorm Inkwell has been sworn into the service of the United States Army. Should the rest of his schooling proceed smoothly and should the stallion stay out of trouble with the law, he will be leaving for Basic Training June Third of the year Twenty-Thirteen. He is scheduled to train at Fort Jackson in South Carolina for his basic training. His Advanced Indiviual Training for job Fifteen Yankee (Apache Avionics/Electronic/Armament Systems Repairer) is to be done at Fort Eustis in Virginia immediatey after Basic. Approximate return date to the normal world is around Thanksgiving. Should he be unable to, Sandstorm would like to thank all his readers so far and ask them to remain loyal during those months.

Background: Sandstorm was always the quiet one when he was younger, spending much of his time by himself. To fill the time, he took to writing in his parents' books. When his parents' friends gave praise for what he wrote, his cutie mark appeared in a flash of light. Later on in life, he had a few friends but continued to keep mostly to himself. Currently, Sandstorm can sometimes be seen wandering the southern Badlands with an empty book, quill and inkwell, and a saddlebag full of provisions. Some rumour that he has a house hidden in the Badlands though others believe him to be a homeless drifter.
