Yeah, I've not done much lately. I'm sorry. Those who took the time to offer me feedback, both positive and negative, thank you so very much for that. I cannot put into words just how much your responses have meant to me. Even the seemingly simple act of choosing to "Favorite" one of my stories gives me a thrill. Thank you.

I have no idea if I'm ever going to have more to publish here. I've had a few little things in the Highlander 'verse swimming around in my head but they've never gotten past the outline stage. Maybe if I get inspired I'll take another shot at it. For now, Castle has ceased to be an influence on my imagination, I've lost touch with the characters and while I would love to finish my "Gift From Beyond", I don't hold out much hope for it. I have two more chapters that are in very rough shape and are not fit for publication and they're taunting and teasing me without much resolution. I've tried and failed. I'm sorry.

There's been a different and strictly fictional story floating around in my brain and it may take root and appear in FictionPress but I don't know for sure. I'm not a writer, just a hack who assembled some words in a not so unpleasant manner. (I have learned, thanks to my attempts here and the feedback I've gotten, to not start writing until I have the story really and truly mapped out and linked the story threads that need resolving.)

So. I may keep reading but my writing career may very well be at the end. Or is that a beginning?

About my lack of updates (1/15)

I'd love to be able to say something witty here but the fact of the matter is, I'm buried by my own life and have been working on the next chapter to my story since close to six months. I'm trying. I will update it if at all possible.

To those who have reviewed a story of mine.
I just wanted to tell those who have offered reviews/comments on my work and have not gotten any response from me. I'm sorry for being behind in what I'm doing. I am keeping every single notice so that I can go back and respond to everyone's reviews but I have to wait until after I finish my story. I have to do three things, work, live, and then finish my stories and the three take up all available time. After I finish my story, I will go back and respond to everyone's reviews individually.

In the meantime, if you'll accept it from me, I offer a grateful thanks for you taking your time to review/comment on my work. I will be responding. Thank you again.

Another note about reviews and replies.
I find that I am having trouble keeping track of what reviews I've responded to. If you sent me a review/comment and I've not replied, please don't be offended, it's nothing more than "did I/didn't I" confusion and my reluctance to look a fool by replying more than once to a message.

A quick note to those who have favored one of my stories: (Jul/'13)
I'm not a writer. Heck, I have days when I feel lucky to string together a logical sentence. I did this fanfic thing on a whim, I had a story bubbling inside my head and I felt the strong urge to type it up. It was short and some folks liked it. I felt amazed that anyone would respond to something I composed. Feeling bolder I posted a couple more stories here, got some good feedback/reviews and enjoyed reading other people's work. I followed some profiles and found more stories to read that others have favored and started reading them. Lots of laughs, more than a few tears, a bit of angst, and the occasional need for a cold shower.

Then came the payoff. I started to really poke around following other stories and other people's profiles deeply and then, one day, I sat here, reading through someone's "Favorites" list and lo-and-behold, there it was. My nom de plume. I just stared at it. Someone out there, read something I wrote and clicked the "Favor" button. (Yes, I'm aware that more than one has done it but this is the first time it hit home with me.)

It was like a bolt of lightning. I felt it hit me when the realization of what that meant finally sank in. Someone really liked something I wrote and thought enough of it to want to know if I updated it more.

I have no words to explain the gratitude that this has given me. I'm truly stunned and humbled by this simple act.

To those who read/favor/follow/review the stories people write here, all I can offer you is the simple phrase "Thank you." It says a lot but it still feels insufficient to express my true feelings. Thank you thank you thank you.
