When I read, I'm carried away on a boat, at the whims of the waves. When I write... I steer the ship. In both of these ways, I explore the ocean.

When I write, I do it because it gives me the chance to explore other worlds in my own way. I can sit back and immerse myself within the words, feeling and experiencing everything along-side the characters. It's a place to escape to, where I can forget about any troubles that plague normal, everyday life. It washes away depression and anger, both the story and the response to it bring a feeling of happiness to me.

Reading is exploring some-one else's world. You can see things the way they see it, relax and go along for the ride they set out for everyone to enjoy.

I'm MidnightFedora- I'm a 17 year old who tends to get a bit carried away and a bit lost. I write when I can, and read whenever I can't.

Fanfiction is the extended story written by a community who hasn't had enough of a world yet- this births beginnings and meetings that could never have happened otherwise, and no single ending is ever a final goodbye.
