![]() Author has written 5 stories for Emergency, and Loving. I am a huge fan of British comedies / dramas, Soap Operas, and classic American television shows. I enjoy a good story whether it is a drama or a comedy. I have dabbled in fan art, videos, and fiction for four different soap operas: Search for Tomorrow, Days of our Lives, One Life to Live and Loving / The City. I am a long-time fan of Emergency!, Quincy, ME., Cheers, Frasier, MASH, Doctor Who, and many other shows. It is an interesting journey also to watch actors you admire in different shows, as it allows for nuances to be added to story telling. When writing, I often re-read my stories to try and maintain continuity and perhaps plant a seed or two for future stories. I also enjoy drawing creative influences from others, nature, different cultures, literature, and the arts. It makes storytelling far richer, regardless of the medium. Research is an important part of writing, whether academic or for fun, as it lends credence to the story. I prefer strongly created characters, even if it is a minor one. Plot devices and gimmicks are okay once in a rare while, but I have seen it used too often in both storytelling and on television. I believe in letting the character tell the story and a good writer will do that. Writing is a process whether it is for fun or academic purposes. Practice makes perfect and no avenue should be left out when exploring an idea, including positive criticism and suggestions. |
